A lot of people were hurt by your actions and words. Being a figure in this community requires you have a level of respect for people that it seems you just weren't capable of 6 months ago. Im glad you took time off to reflect and grow, but im also glad you've decided to step down basically altogether. I think it would have been best to open with that though. A whole video leading up to 90 seconds breifly discussing why you left the platform doesnt come across well. You never hurt me so its not my place to forgive you or not, but lots of my friends were extremely disappointed. And yeah, the catfishing stuff is way too weird to overlook. Especially since it was repeat behavior. Wishing you the best moving forward in school and your career outside the game. Hoping you grow more as a person.
I doubt you’ll respond, and I should not have any voice on Neil staying or leaving because I’m not part of the demographic of which he offended, but why is the catfishing so seemingly unforgivable for a 20 year old? It’s stupid and immature, but are we expecting people at that age to be perfect, completely mature citizens once they turn 18? To my knowledge, it was a stupid attempt to catch someone he thought was a predator, who did not turn out to be one. It’s idiotic and embarrassing, but is this truly an unforgivable mistake for someone who is 20? Not my choice to make, and maybe the hate he gets is warranted considering the people he hurt, but it seems like the community openly welcomes other people who have done far more unforgivable things. A lot of top players who denounce Neil openly turn a blind eye to the adult who bought alcohol for a 14-year-old and used their hotel as a space for them to get drunk, the person who asked an underage girl for a cam show, or the person who held Neil’s offensive statement for months, made certain misogynistic and objectifying statements about a community member, then cowardly gave the screenshot to Kunal because he didn’t have the balls to release it himself. It honestly seems like a lot of figureheads have a ton of double standards. If you’re going to treat Neil this way, you should treat others in that way too

@@ElenaPog It may be sad, but it's really normal for people (specially in less developed countries) to find trans "wierd" but try to be as respectful as possible. They don't think these people should di3 and not exist, they simply are not able to understand everything yet. Niel gave me that same impression. It's not really a super harmful opinion, it's easy to fix and is super common may you like it or not. Banning him from the communit is unfair, he should get a chance to change and get better. If he keeps hurting people and is unable to learn from his mistakes, sure. But we are far from that.

Hi Neil I’m a fan of your content. I think your videos are informative, entertaining and concise. I hope you read this comment. Your daily uploads were what made me keep playing vgc everyday so I can try b out new spreads, teams, mons, etc. If I follow you and watch your videos it isn’t because I want to be educated on who you are as a person or your personal beliefs. I follow you and watch your videos because you make content for something I enjoy, and your content is honestly pretty good compared to other VGC creators. And that is enough for me, and I assure you, lots of your audience thinks this as well. The fact that people nowadays think they can just be this kind of social judges, canceling people who just don’t think the same way they do, annoys me to no end. Even if your thoughts on a lot of subjects may differ from mine, I couldn’t care less. The only thing I’m here for are the VGC videos and that’s it.
While I don't think that you should be banned, cancelled etc from the community for saying what you said in a private message (I don't agree with the sentiment, but don't think anyone should be punished for having opposing views, not the way to push for mutual understanding), I think you could have handled your return better by going in more deeply regarding the situation and what exactly had happened. I guess you didn't want to alarm viewers that were unaware of this whole situation but most will likely find out about it regardless because of the many comments made on the video. Putting it at the end, I don't think is the worst thing and you did provide a timestamp, isn't really the best idea either in my opinion. I am happy to hear that you're overall doing well from what we can hear, and hope you can enjoy future interactions with the community by posting videos and anything else, though I think in order to be welcomed better a more detailed explanation could be helpful.
I used to enjoy your content a lot, but you have really stained yourself with your comments. Its hard to see past your actions and transphobia. The fact that you decide to just gloss completely over it doesn't really signify that you've grown past it properly these last five months.
i realy like blastoise covert cloak for fake out faster than incin and most rilla. haze to get rid of my negative stat drops (overheat) and dondozo counter and anti swords dance mons. people dont have a lot to threaten blastoise so it keeps spamming life dew . and flash cannon against fairy types, since i dont have much covarage against it
I really don't think it's a particularly good look to say "I think I apologized well". Perhaps a better way to say it would be that you stand by what you said, because the way you word it makes it feel like you're expecting forgiveness because you did a "good" apology, and shifting blame and responsibility onto the people that were hurt by your actions. To be clear, I'm not here to hate. I am absolutely willing to accept change and growth from people who make mistakes, since many of us grow up being taught shitty ideas or behaviors, or just don't have the experience to understand that our actions are harmful. However I worry from the way that you're responding to backlash that you're learning all the wrong lessons from this incident.
I really hope your decision to step down is your own, and what you feel is best for you. Pressure or condemnation from other people is dangerous. Your are your own person and retain your own liberties and personal sovereignty. I am a firm believer in trans rights. However, I feel that the dialogue is what matters. You seem to not only be willing to make the changes and learn, but also incredibly capable of accepting your flaws and adressing them at face value. True progress is when people who have a damaging perspective, are able to see the dangers of that perspective and hopefully change. If we condemn every wrong and each of those people just gives up, we are no further forward. Thats the true danger of this cancel culture. It serves no one. The people in your comment section dont have the responsiblity of all the darkest parts of themselves being brought to light in front of everyone. They dont get to decide how that should be handled, or how it should affect you. You are not perfect. Neither am I. Neither I nor you, reserve the right to judge anyone or demand change in anyone. We must all do our best to better ourselves. That is our only obligation.

I know what you did was absolutely unforgivable, but I really dont want someone to stop doing what they love because of some mistakes. People may look at you and see transphobia, but you are good at what you do, and the videos you made help so many more people than you can ever imagine. Take as long as you need, but I and many others in this community appreciate all the effort you put into the videos you used to make. Again, what you did shouldn't be erased, it should be a reminder of who you were, and who you can be. Good luck with school, and simply have fun with pokemon. I'm really glad you are back! Everyone makes mistakes, and people sound't make you quit because of this. In my opinion you didn't even do something unforgivable anyway. Say "I'm sorry" try to get better and go right back to grinding. Things like that shouldn't be a game over on your career.
Maybe people should focus less on permanently shaming someone for a few silly mistakes, some of which happened a few years ago? And more on ensuring the worst president in modern history, one who is manifestly unfit for office, who encouraged a mob of supporters to attack the Capitol, and who would use the office for personal gain and retribution against political enemies, is not elected. How about we be a little less selective with our moral outrage? Anyways, Neil is a solid player. Glad he took some time to reflect on his mistakes and that he's back.
