@@glenliesegang233 Heaven is subjective at best. One has an afterlife. One does not have to earn that afterlife. One is already part of it. Home of sorts. The bible is just a story, that's it! The story created just for people who don't know any better to think for themselves. Orthodox religious people are in love with they're stories and not the reality of their stories. It's ok, you'll have plenty of incarnations to figure it all out. One is loved no matter what one believes.

Could you kindly provide me with a source on that? Because while I can't comment on what Sam Harris's claims, I have read the Quran to a certain extent and it does very clearly does show a clear bias towards men. For example: "If you fear you might fail to give orphan women their ˹due˺ rights ˹if you were to marry them˺, then marry other women of your choice-two, three, or four. But if you are afraid you will fail to maintain justice, then ˹content yourselves with˺ one or those ˹bondwomen˺ in your possession. This way you are less likely to commit injustice." Surah Al Nisa (4:3) this surah explicitly states that it is okay to marry up to 4 women and if you can't treat these women equally then marry a women you own as stated by "in your possession" (in other words a slave). Now I am not against polygamy but my problem arises that the same is not true for women. Women can't marry four men no matter what, even if they can treat them equally. Now I tried very hard to search for a surah or hadith that addressed this but no matter how hard I searched, I couldn't find any. I have read Surah Nisa fully and found no additional context that would explain this. All Islamic scholars and teachings that I looked at also agreed that women can't have more then one husband. But then again I am no Prophet, so maybe I just overlooked something or missed a Surah that addresses this. So I ask this with sincerity, how can you say Islam is treating men and women equally when surahs like these explicitly say otherwise? Also if you could kindly give a source on the ottoman empire claim, then that would be much appreciated.

What I did say is that the Qur’an provides women with some rights; certainly more than the Bible, which prevents women to even speak in church also also tells women to cover their heads, lest they wish to have all their hair shaved as punishment. Women have the right to divorce their husband, and scholars have interpolated to include various other marital rights. This was a foreign concept to Christian courts of the time.

And Pakistan elected a woman as PM, but that doesn't change the fact that the "women must be covered head to toe" community is almost exclusively Muslim. Not half an hour ago I was walking down the street and there was a couple nearby. The woman was covered entirely, even her face, in a black outfit, in the hot sun, while her male partner had a short-sleeved shirt on and nothing on his head, and looked quite comfortable. And this was in the US. Such garb is enforced by law in Iran and elsewhere. And as Sam Harris has said, the suicide bombing community is almost entirely Muslim. Moderate Muslims give the extremists a pass. The same is true for most religions. Hell, probably all of them.
