Phil's a great guitarist, really classy, I think it comes from the fact he was classically trained originally, he just plays a little differently to everyone else. Love it.
This performance is great. Paul Shaffer and the gang never ceases to amaze me. And the Rembrandts are super good too. Reminds me of the performance with The Proclaimers.
@@Mediaright Yes. 2 different version. The intro version is just that short. Then they Record a Full version and released as a single that went no 1 on rádio. Different versions.
Before this these were in a band called, "Great Buildings". Their album, Apart From The Crowd, is incredible. Saw them a few times at the Whiskey back in the early 80's. Great voices and great guitars as well.
One the best tv performances regardless of the show or era. One of the most underrated composing duos ever. Although they didn’t write this one. They turned it into this.
If you are real fan of friends you should go out and buy some of this bands amazing albums not just listen to I’ll be there for you which They didn’t even write!! Amazing band
I was looking at what these guys also did besides the Friends theme and turns out they were on Letterman during his Late Night tenue in 1991 with Just The Way It Is, Baby. It's on RU-vid but in poor quality. Thought I'd let you know as you like uploading this stuff in high quality.
Thanks! That was April 24, 1991. It was their television network debut. Not yet digitized. They were also on Late Night on December 23, 1992, performing "Johnny Have You Seen Her."
Awww! They start playing the theme from one of the all time classic sitcoms! Too bad they finish it so quickly and then start the Friends theme... :-((
