70 yrs old, shot Remy's all the way through, I had a 26 inch and a 30 inch , for clay bashing, and lost count of how many pigeons I shot over decoys. Thousands. Best auto out there. I was AA in most disciplines.

I agree. I just got one at auction from the same year with fantastic wood on it. 26" skeet barrel and I managed to pick up a 30" barrel in the same auction for peanuts.

I've just googled Duncan Lawton and was reminded he was the first shooter to hit 100 straight at a registered English sporting shoot with a Remington 1100 😎 and he went on to do so much more with the same gun!

I bought a V3 several years ago. I've put about 4K shells through it now without problems. Best part is I haven't cleaned it over the last 2k just to see what would happen. It's still working without problems.

Have a Rem 1100 since 1974, have shot lots of game and clays with it, shot thousands of shells with it and still works fine.

I've got two vintage Remington 1100's in 12 ga. and yes hardly no recoil and can shoot it all day or until you run out of ammo that is !!!

I bought one of the original Sporting Clays models never had any problems over 10 years with it .It remains the only gun that I regret selling!

Remington have always been very popular and very reliable here in Australia. semi Auto's are restricted out here but can be aquired for clay shooting. ladies and people with sore shoulders. a good one again david

Great job David. Semi autos do seem to be a little bit undervalued here, whilst across the pond, most shooters have (at least) one. I have a Maxus Black Gold which not only looks stunning, it handles superbly and has more adjustment options than a Meccano Kit! I can feed light or mega loads through it, and it just works! The action is as fast as you can pull the trigger, and it is as smooth as butter! Sure, the higher grades do cost quite a few pounds more than the typical Semi, but you do get what you pay for. I'd love to see more semi autos tested.

That gun is a work horse. If you need heavy magnum cartridges or clay loads. One of the best semi auto on the market.

Great video.. Excellent to see one strate out of the box & smoking them clays. I was lucky enough to purchase a second hand one a few years ago & love shooting it. As long as you change the O rings & clean it, she'll give you years of fun. A great skeet & clay gun. 👍

I have 2 of these. Best semi auto out there and beats a bunch of guns costing twice as much. The Versa Port gas system is fantastic and soft shooting. They make a Waterfowl Pro version with oversized bolt release and charging handle. Makes for an easier day with gloves on. I have many Remington shotguns and they are my preferred choice. I just wish they would make a 3.5” chambered V3. I don’t necessarily shoot a lot of 3.5” shells, but nice to have if needed.

I have an Auto love them along with my MK38 but sadly a lot of grounds don’t like them and In Skeet they seem to be frowned on love the videos you do keep them coming

The Remington 1100 is hard to beat. I've owned 12, 20 and 28ga, or bore if you prefer. My wishlist has an 1100 410 Sporting right at the top.

Is that a new v3? I didn’t know the new Remington company were producing semi autos again. I own a versamax it’s a 3 1/2 inch gun and shoots anything I feed it. Totally underrated guns. I wish they would have promoted them better they are a great shooting gun.

I have the 1187 premier. The only problem I’ve ever had is when shooting short brass - light loads.

We all had a good laugh with your excitement over the Remington. Everyone that I know that had one has long since pitched it for a berretta. Most say it is like shooting with a canoe paddle. I am glad you had fun with it but it is not a refined shotgun by any stretch of the of imagination. All from a company that buries its head in the sand when the issues with the 700 came about.

I had three 1100's back in the 70's/80's and i have to say they were well made and looked to be of better quality than this one. Ok, they were very heavy but they were the semi of the day, especially for skeet shooting. There was nothing to touch them back then.

At bird camp last fall, brother in law's Benelli suffered a known gas issue and he was limited to single shot for that annual trip.

How funny good for you you now have used one of the finest semiautomatic semiautomatic weapons in a shotgun ever made I've seen and shot them for years I can shoot them trap or skeet is almost as well as people can shoot and over and under what a fabulous shotgun

i`d be interested to know what the action is based on ,obviously it`s nothing like the old 1100,i`ve got a 1100 skeet gun which handles and shoots fantastic but it`s not without slight niggles,it`s quite ammo fussy and the extractor claw broke once also the link between the carrier and the stock spring,apart from that considering it cost me £190 can`t moan too much

It's Remingtons (RIP) "versaport" system. It's basically copied from the benelli M4. Actually a pretty interesting system. Worth a look.

@@ford351modified yes that is correct. I believe it has a rotating bolt head and is otherwise completely different than the 1100s or 1187. My understanding is it's just a scaled down version of the versa max. And I don't think either are currently in production.

@@ford351modified the gas cylinder system on the barrel is similar to the Versamax, but what's in the receiver IS quite different. The bolt is rotary, but while it's more complex than the Versamax, the bolt assembly does not telescope, which reduces the action length. The bolt springs are also in the receiver, eliminating the spring in the buttstock. And while the styling of the trigger assembly is a bit more utilitarian, the trigger pull quality is excellent. Hopefully RemArms brings it back to market soon.

No need to buy a new one, there's over 4 million used 1100's all over the world. They'll last a couple liftimes. Your next review should be on the 1100.

I think you need to try a more up market Auto I think you would really enjoy a beretta A400 or Benelli raffaello supersport there more of a true clay shooting auto

@@charlessmith4242 there’s not much of a change in the new 400 just thf colour of the action i’m 100% in the benelli camp my self they’ve had issues on and off all guns do just look at hatsan and browning you hear horror stories more of them the two big B brands

I think the bankruptcy and sale had a lot to do with that. Employee moral in the toilet. I have 2 1100's for over 35 years and they just keep on chugging along. The finish is nice if you don't mind the rolled checkering. Find an older one and you'll be much happier.
