Chiaki’s death always hurts no matter how much time passed. She was one of the few characters that I never wanted to see die

This class is so tragic gaddamit. Witnessing how they went from hope to despair and then bringing the tragic era is so heartbreaking. I'm just glad NAEGI gave them a chance to redeem themselves.

Ngl, I kinda wish The Remnants had a time to shine in this series. They only appeared in one episode and on a monitor and that’s it. It’s awesome how they were supposed to be the original antagonists of Ultra Despair Girls. But it’s also sad that they were switched out with fucking kids man. Cmon I wanted to see an evil version of my boi and girl Soda and Ibuki.

Mahiru: Used her photography skills to blackmail people and for them to do her dirty work. Also spreads horrible photos that showed the hopelessness of their world. Nagito: Helped the Warriors of Hope. Imposter: Pretended to be high ranking officials and declare war. Gundam: Used the animals to terrorised people. Mikan: Used her medical expertise to spread disease and experimented of patients. Akane and Nekomaru: Used their athletic skills to kill people mercilessly. Teruteru: Killed his own mother and cooked her. Used his talent to serve Despair inducing food. Kazuichi: Used his talent to pollute their world. Hence the reason for the darkblood atmosphere. Also the one who build giant Monukumas that's destroyed cities and the one who set up Danganronpa 1's execution machines. Sonya: Wage war with other countries.

I like to think the gopher project was made to counter the despairs. Gonta vs Gundam since both relate to animals, Shuichi vs Imposter one steals identity while the other solves them, Maki vs Peko/Fuyuhiko an assassin to take out a boss Miu vs Kazuyichi inventor vs mechanic Himiko vs Hiyoko two performers Kaede vs Ibuki a calming melody instead of rock Angie vs Mahiro, photos show a ruined world while angie can paint perfect worlds Kiibo vs Kamakura the ultimate human vs the ultimate robot both created but one lost his emotions while the other wants to have emotions Tenko vs Akane both are fighters Kirumi vs Sonia a maid tasked on taking out royalty Kokichi vs fuyuhiko leader of a secret organization vs the yakuza Ryoma vs Nekomaru

Why do I wish they just made a whole anime on this?

These poor children. Each one so full of potential, possessing incredible intellect and ability, beyond many of their peers. Junko, through torture and treachery, snuffed the brightest of these lights-Chiaki-out, and used the pain and grief of losing her to send the others-her brothers and sisters, of bond rather than blood-tumbling down into darkness and despair. They became heralds to rally the masses, architects creating machines of death and pain, and living weapons to be unleashed upon the world. Only the faith and hope of their dearly departed friend, the awoken love and belief of one who could become their new leader, and the kindness and forgiveness of he who challenged and won against their tormentor's dream of despair, was able to save them, and lead them back into the future.

Komaeda: Replaced his left arm with Junko's. Mikan: Put Junko's womb inside her. Soda: Attached machine guns to cars and committed mass murder. Hiyoko and Ibuki: Concerts to fill people with despair. Mahiru: Took pictures of dead people/Despair enducing events. Nekomaru: Coached people until they died of exhaustion

Knowing they never wanted to become the Ultimate Despair hurts so much. Episode 10 of Despair Arc still breaks my heart not just for Chiaki, but also the fact Junko destroyed their spirits with her death. To me that’s the worst thing she could have done to them and it still hurts years later.

chiaki's death was one of the saddest scenes in my list. the part where kamukura cries made it even more sad. and playing the DR2 made me fell to despair. then that last episode came up and I thought she was alive. it was all imaginary. THE GODDAMN GAME WAS A SHOW AFTER ALL!

The whole concept of the anime is just sad. Usually in anime’s, the main protagonists always falls into situations and then wins at the end of the battle but this hits different. It’s sad how these classmates had so much hope and then fell into despair to spread it like a virus. And not just that, but Chisa...can’t get over her. She had high hopes for them and was the first to fall into despair. But it was a different kind. Instead of joining the students, she was more of an undercover. Knowing how she fell into despair, (Spoilers) she was the first to die. She was brainwashed not once but twice into killing herself. And she too was the main reason for giving each student hope so seeing her succumbed to despair like that breaks my heart. And it breaks my heart more how all the students came to help at the final episode just to leave without knowing what happened to their favorite teacher with a smile on their faces....it still ache me. But we must not forget that before falling to despair, she was still her, through and through. I just wished I could have seen a bit more..

Why is no one talking about how great this Audio matches this damn scene! Especially the ending with Chiaki, oh my it gave me goosebumps

Honestly the remnants of despair has always intrigued me. Don’t get me wrong I love them before the despair but there is something super interesting seeing them as despair. I wish the Dr people had gave us a deeper look on what was happening while Naegi and the others were in the killing game.

I get a lot of the potential for legitimate despair with a lot of the students. Between Fuyuhiko and Sonia, they have secondary leadership and numbers beneath what I'm assuming is Izuru's ultimate lead. Then heavy-men fighters like Nekomaru and Akane. Individual terrors like Mikan and honestly Nagito is terrifying in ANY setting once you stir his shit.... But like...what did Mahiru and Saionji do? Dance and take pics the whole time? Did Saionji bully people into despair? I'm legit confused as to their rolls.

I'm gonna be real. The second games cast is my favorite by far. Not my favorite game in the series but my favorite characters. When I watched danganronpa 3 I actually started to cry to the point where it caused an asthma attack. See the characters I love like this actually makes me sad and so see this makes real despair.

Seeing these kids bringing utter ruin to the world after spending so much time with them in the game is just so heartbreaking. Danganronpa 2 had my favorite cast of characters and it genuinely makes me very sad and uneasy when I see them causing such despair.

Hmm. Seeing this makes me wonder if komaeda ever actually forgot about his despair in danganronpa 2, he seems the same

Think about Mondo with an army of bikers, Gonta fighting along with a swarm of insects just like Gundham, Sayaka and Kaede singing along with Hioko and Ibuki, Cihiro hacking all computers and playing the killing games videos that Junko made, Kyio and Angie creating a despair cult, Miu upgrading Keebo to be a killing machine, Sakura Ryoma Tenko and Maki fighting along with Akane Peko and Neko. Kirumi Celestia Kokichi and Ishimaru making togheter a despair political party, and Shuichi being like Izuru

The thing is that I used to not like Chiaki, but after I saw her death, it hurt ya know. Now she’s a character that I like a lot.

I know the fandom is insane, and people start to dislike everything about Danganronpa just because of that but I believe this entire franchise is among the greatest things ever written. And you yourself get to piece and learn about everything as you go, playing the game, watching the anime. Yeah, it's not like there's lore you have to dig deep to find out, you're shown it, told. But it's just so brilliant, how any of this exists. So much detail as well, in every corner. Anime and games. And it really hits sometimes, leaves an impact. Imagining such a despairing world, these students succumbing to despair. Fuck, teruteru cooked his own mother, someone who he loved so much. He panicked to hell on that island, when he learned that they had been there for a year or 2. Chisa.. Chiaki, Hajime. All these fictional characters and it's just so sad to think about.
