I LOVE the twist of having us vote without knowing whose enclosure is whose. In the past I have personally also had concerns about the voting being more of a popularity contest, rather than personal taste in the enclosure, or at least massively having that popularity influence them.
I do too. I can kind of tell based on some of the enclosures and knowing some of the people behind them, but largely this is a much better way to vote. Like how on RU-vid they don't let you see the amount of dislikes a video has so that you don't get mob mentality.
I found Green Room Pythons from a previous years build off. Love his channel and wouldn’t have found it without this competition. Thank you and thanks to all the sponsors!
2:58 Emily Ed thank you so so much for hosting and inviting me - I've grown so much in my reptile knowledge, building skills, and being able to meet so many reptile keepers and RU-vidrs! We're all so supportive of each other! Thank you for the chance to grow especially my character as a reptile keeper. Being one of the younger contestants here, I won't let you, mentors, and Mother Nature down by doing my part to care for it, and especially to inspire kids like me. Thank you for the chance. ❤
You may not know us viewers, but I got to say it's been wild watching you grow so much across these Build Offs! You're a kick-butt young man and I'm so happy to see you represent the awesome next generation!
This has been the funnest event ever over the past few years! Its always great to hang out and have a friendly competition with so many talented creators who I'm proud to call my friends. I actually rescheduled trips to make sure i could attend this event over the years. The only thing that stinks about it is that now its all over. Thanks Emily and Ed for putting on such an amazing event!
My thought exactly! He is growing so much in many ways. And yeah nummber 6 is just truly an artpiece besides an open enclosure. It's fantastic. I did also love number 10, and I sorta like the all out theme in Stranger Things. Those are my 3 favs, I did vote 6 thouigh, cause that would be what I wanted the most myself.
I'm so glad to have been able to participate every year so far. Thank you Emily and Ed for all of the work you put into hosting this event, it's always a blast!
I was so honored to be a part of this, thanks again so much for inviting me. Good luck to all the participants, voting is gonna be tough all the enclosures are amazing!
So much much to you, Bill! You have an amazing creative but functional eye, and I know have brought your A game! Thinking and hoping you have my vote! ❤
@trabash505 this is the sweetest comment and I appreciate it so much, thank you 😊. I'm definitely gonna post more enclosure builds on my own channel moving forward 😀
What an awesome time once again catching up with friends, laughing and seeing everyone’s creativity come together. It’s amazing how we all have one common interest but our interpretations can be so different. Love it!!! 🐍 🐢 🦎
I recognized yours immediately. You used the same trick this year that you did in your first build. I loved it then, I love it now. You guys have some serious skill in building depth in a scape without it feeling too cluttered or too sparse, and the effect ends up being exactly what you intended. Bravo again.
Waiting until green team was done to tell them they cheated was diabolical 😂 These enclosures are all so good 😍, and I love that they're anonymous this year.
Great twist on having viewers vote on the enclosures without knowing who made them! In previous years I tried to let go of any bias when voting, but I was always worried I was influenced by the charm of my favorite creators versus the quality of the enclosure. Even though there are some obvious hints on who made what enclosure (such as those who signed theirs on the front!) that was fairly subtle and I was able to really take an enclosure-first view; I can feel confident I picked my favorite based on the enclosure itself. Everyone did an awesome job this year. Can hardly wait to see the video of these enclosures being created!
Not you being the #1 at all hey 😅 "The item bring from home was a 🥒 🫙" 😅😊 Gorgeous work! And beautiful plant work! It is beautiful! 😍 The half dead maranta in the middle is (seriously )really cute, I love the touch of color it brings 😊
Seeing the contestants made me so happy. It's like seeing old friends. Luke has been getting so grown-up since the first time we saw him on your channel.
This was such a fun event!! I'm so glad I was able to tag along. The championship builds ended up being so amazing. Thanks to Ed and Emily and the whole Snake Discovery crew for putting this event together, and big thanks to all the sponsors who donated all those incredible supplies!!
I love #6! It’s more like a “home base” for a reptile rather than an enclosure. I love the idea of encouraging interaction. It would be cool if #6 included the side and front panels on hinges so you could secure the pet if you needed to.
I was watching their older videos and realised that although their quality had increased, they started off still amazing, and the videos are insanely well edited and professional. Well done to Emily & Ed for their very charismatic personalities on and off camera and for filming, and well done to the editor!
I feel like after having watched all the prior builds and following many of these creators, I still have a decent idea of who built what. But I love the twist of it being a blind vote.
I love that Rex wanted to help. The build off is great but what Emily and Ed have built is far greater. Look how far you’ve come in your journey of helping to educate us about reptiles. Look at all the sponsors willing to donate. You are amazing. Remember that during those late nights.
@@karliechardi2229I agree with you I had to think of practicality because the exclosure is really cool but a reptile can’t necessarily live there but I’m excited to see how it was built
I love watching Emily and Ed put all the challengers through their paces with their puzzles and relay games. It's so funny to watch everyone running around! All these enclosures are gorgeous (although I dread the thought of cleaning any of them with so much stuff going on). Since the aim is to vote purely on favorite enclosure, I made an effort to NOT try to sleuth out who made what based on their item picks. Everyone did a fantastic job, but that's to be expected of champions! Can't wait to see these get put together later this week :D
I cannot get over how good these ALL are!!!! I absolutely LOVED $4 #6 and #8. But they are all so good. Everyone in this competition is so incredibly talented!
@@6ngelic I'd be worried aboutthe little forest spirit figures possably breaking or getting damaged and injuring animals. same with the lights, plus how are the lights going to affect the animal? might just be me being a bit paranoid, butthats where my thoughts go on a lot of enclosures like that one. as reptile keepers our first job is to give the animal the best enviroment we can.
I dont comment often on your videos. But i wanted to pop in to say: thank you SD. My daughter was 11 when she found you all- your channel became our weekly youtube video binge. Since then weve started to explore other channels, many of whom are featured here at buildoffs. The joy you share in your videos is contagious and the educational opportunity is unmatched. My kiddo is 14 (soon to be 15) and omg- shes learned so much and is finding her passion in animal care through you all. So thank you!
*nearly spits out my drink seeing multiple of my favorite youtubers on here* I'M SO HAPPY. GO CLINT. I hope he does well and then lectures all of us about which animals would be most happy in the enclosure!
Green team wasn’t cheating!! It was lateral thinking XD I always look forward to the build offs. The challenges were super fun, and I can’t wait to see them making the enclosures. Glad you decided to have people vote before knowing who built it, I can’t deny being biased by knowing who made it. Can’t help but noticing a Captain Clint in that group picture though. Hint? Or red herring?
I’m not saying I like #6 just because I saw the sneak peak.. but incredible idea. Not only would reptiles enjoy hanging out.. I could see my birds taking showers😂❤ I’m torn between 6 & 10. 6 is so versatile.
All of them are amazing. But the forest floor one made my heart beat faster - it's SO realistic, like they literally just cut a piece of the forest and put it into the enclosure. 10/10 build!!
The builds are so cool again this year! I think that the Mentor enclosure is the most sentimental, I'm guessing it's Luke's because of his steve irwin figurine in the beginning I don't think it will win best enclosure overall BECAUSE the decor is very specific and personal but it honestly touched my heart so much ❤❤❤ I really loved #2 forest build tho, it's perfect for so many reptiles and the perspective is the BEST I've ever seen!
It's alsways cool to see the reptile community come together like this for sports and fun and very heartwarming to see the growth of long time sponsors and competitors as well as newcomers. Before I give my vote I would like to thank each and everyone who was a part of this. Each enclosure was truly a marvel to see, both for how much thought was put in for the reptiles, as well as the personal touches that the builders included. 1, 6 and 8 would be my top three for very different reasons. 1 for their replication the natural environment of a their thought of species, it's alsways sweet to see people think of their pets comforts first and foremost. 6 for their creative touch and willingness to incorporate interactivity into their build. And 8 for sheer aesthetics and personal preferences (Ghibli magic is my my weak spot I am sorry). If I had to choose I think 6 should take the crown for thinking outside the box (pun intended) and creating a playground for pet and owner to interact. Their theming about nature reclaiming human settlement was also very beautiful and profound and I like how natural the rubber shoe actually fits in because of it. Much thanks for all the effort you guys put out there to make stuff like this happen and fingers crossed that this event stays for the many years to come
All of these enclosures are so amazing and creative! 1 and 2 so beautifully captured the forest floor, 3 was something out of a museum, the miniature furnishings are adorable, 4 has such an endearing story and the little Rex was everything! 5 has such an interesting incorporation of natural influences and themed objects, the red lighting and paint flecks really pull it all together, I love the idea behind 6 and it’s just a gorgeous piece, the planting and flowing water as if it were raining are so whimsical, 7 has awesome plants as well and the fact that it’s intended for a rainbow boa being correlated to the theme makes it all the more brilliant, 8 , I love a good studio Ghibli movie and the landscapes in them are truly breathtaking and magical, I think this enclosure captures that beautifully,9 , the farm idea being a for a hog nose is so fun , and I, again love the incorporation of the miniature elements, finally 10, this one is simply enchanting, the themed water feature and layout are very well done, it’s such a hard decision they’re all so amazing I can’t decide! (This is probably horrible grammatically lol)
Wow, Awesome job competitors!!! Ya'll really nailed it in this Championship Game!!! And great idea Emily, keeping this from being a popularity contest!!! Every one of those enclosures could be a winner!!!
My favorite enclosure is number 6, but the number 8 is about Studio Ghibli and it melted my heart.... Anyways, my rank is 6 in first place, 8 in second (but very close to first!) and 10 in third.
It's so hard to decide! I love number 4 with Jane Goodall and Steve Irwin. Numbers 1 and 2 are so detailed. Number 5 from Stranger Things might give me nightmares, but I'd live with it. The pirate ship is so neat. The water looks so great to swim in. Each one is fantastic
@@ameliaconnick5474 I’m so excited, I’m setting up it’s enclosure tomorrow (Have to deep clean it because it used to house my leopard gecko who got an upgrade) and I was supposed to get it the day after but I’m busy so idk when I will, but hopefully soon!
Congrats! I’m jealous. I used to be terrified of snakes but they’ve grown on me because of all these amazing creators and if I ever get one it’ll Definitely be a hoggie!
Number 4 makes me so happy!!! I wrote 2 biographies on Jane Goodall in elementary school, dressed up as her on the second grade "dress as your hero" day, wrote my first 5 page essay on her in middle school, and now at 23, going to see her speak for my 24th birthday. I also love 6 and 8!!!! Everyone did amazing work❤
Watching the first one of these feels like only yesterday, always so fascinated and blown away by everyone's individual creativity and amazing designs each time, regardless of who's crowned winner or not they're all so cool.
I love every single enclosure so much and how so many contestants thought to go with a pop culture theme!! But I'm going to have to go with No.6, I just love how ambient everything is!!
I feel like every year I learn about a new really cool company through the sponsor section and so many cool products I didn't even think to look for let alone knew existed
#10 & #6 was my favs but holy cow they all was pretty darn good! #6 was very creative! Someone was thinking way out of the box and pushing boundaries for that!
They all did an amazing job!!! Way better than what I would do😭 But, I gotta say #8 had a nice, refreshing and calming look and feel to it. So I'm gonna go with #8!
It's so incredibly hard to choose as they're all so great but I'd just like to say that the mentors vivarium has bought me to tears. The reptile hobby has always been underrated, challenging, othered, misunderstood, and unsupported. Our reptile mentors are what helps us overcome those challenges every day, they give us the strength to fight for our hobby which is constantly questioned and marginalised. They help those outside of our hobby better understand the beauty of those misunderstood and hated. This hobby is so great for the nature and for our community and I am incredibly grateful to be a part of it.
Definitely number 2 because it's pretty and natural and also tidy(I was gunna choose 1 but it was a bit messy also I feel that it dident look natural enough because it dident have water(from what I seen) like Forrest usually have "lakes/rivers).
It is kind of interesting. Right now the two anime themed enclosures are the top 2. I also think a few of them are pretty obvious even without any names. I mean, who else would do that with a shoe?
I could bunk down in one of those enclosures, and I am not even a little bit on the small side, oh my gods!!!! Each year I've thought that the creations just couldn't get better, and each year the competitors just blow me away with how much they can achieve in such a small amount of time. It's also been a wonderful opportunity to collect new channels to enjoy, I love the build-off time of year!!
I totally love the survivor style games. Number 4 is my second favorite, they are all so good it wasreally hard to choose. 7 was my favorite, loved your video this years buildoff
@@victoriabagwell8426 I guess I’m just not observant enough because I went back and watched several times(prob 5) and I only know 1 for sure and that’s because of his video released first. I have a few guesses about the other ones but nothing I would bet on. And I’ve always thought I was more observant than average but this proves otherwise lol.
I really loved enclosure 1 , 2, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, especially 2 and 6! it was really hard for me to choose between those, after a long time of thinking, I eventually had to choose exclosure 6❤❤ good luck to all the players who participated!!❤❤
I absolutely LOVE the Stranger Things one I watch this on my own when I saw number 5 I had to show my sister who watched Stranger Things and loves it too, Well done to the player who did that!!! ❤❤❤. I vote for Number..... 5!!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ (my sister votes for it too well done player number 5!!!! ❤❤)
