The Residents perform "Constantinople" from their 1978 album, "Duck Stab / Buster & Glen". Recorded live @ Amager Bio in Copenhagen, Denmark on February 9th, 2016.
@@calebharris2477 well also that they’re dressed as old people and making commentary on bands that milk their hits until performances are sad versions of the original.
I saw these guys in Chicago in 2016 and, well...yeah. The absolute strangest concert experience I've ever had, or will likely ever have. But, I'm glad I went!
I remember hearing this on The Doctor Demento Show as a little kid. Scared the hell out me. I thought it was the dreaded world ruining "punk rock" I had recently heard about. Now this just sounds like good clean fun. Turned out it was the world that was punk rock.
Ya see now, sure this sounds "bad", but from a performance perspective its pretty interesting. It gains a lot of momentum throughout the song and is in a weird meter. Very strange and imaginative stuff
That's an accurate description of anything they've ever done. Find the original "Constantinople" recording from the Duck Stab release, and you'll get a little better idea of its nuances...
That was the only way that could be behind us to live in your brain. We are so thankful to have been in our lives for the last few months and I hope everyone is joining the Vogelthorps. We will never ever forget that you have been nutralized by zero.
Beh vengono da un’altro tempo, sono artisti che dalla fine degli anni 60 ad oggi hanno sempre fatto musica avant garde evolvendosi e stando al passo coi tempi, ma senza mai cadere nel mainstream e superficiale. Geni assoluti
You know if this was terrible and if any other artist preformed that bad it be the worst concert that I would have ever been to But if it was them then it would be the best
Well because it’s all apart of their act. They’re playing their old songs dressed as elderly people. You could even say they’re making commentary on the bands that have stuck around just to play their hits even though they’re too old to do them justice. Their music isn’t to listen to its a performance and commentary. Even when they play old stuff they add new ideas.
Chris Brown they've been getting sick of them. People just know them as eyeball-tophat so they have to stick along with it these days. Not wearing them live is another reason; imagine wearing a medicine ball on your head with a porthole to see through for an hour and a half. There's a reason they only did it for two or three tours.
This is one of those songs that are just... that. It's weird for the sake of weird and just gets in your head. You either like it or hate it and nobody will judge your opinion.
