As a kid I genuinely thought rest was just a nothing move, like magikarp using splash. Every time you try and use it, nothing seems to happen except you can't do anything for way too long. Try using it in training mode and fall into someone with it, and still nothing happens. And it's not like smash ultimate where the game tells you what every move does, so I was quite surprised when I found out it's actually a very good move
