RetrospectGreg its really a testament to how well done the start was and how it managed to resonate with people. Even after the series drags the message through the mud fans still want to believe that the lesson applies

Yea, Like tbh his FUCKING BROTHER KILLED HIS FAMILY AT 7, 7 YEARS OLD AND WAS FORCED BY HIS BROTHER TO WATCH HIM Murder HIS CLAN . He was really tame in part 1 having to witness that. I knew kid who witnessed their dad kill themselves at 13, and he was mentally fucked up for a while on drugs. For sasuke he wasn't that bad in part 1, just a kid who really wanted power to avenge his family which I feel most humans would do.

I can’t speak for other people but here’s my thing with sasuke, He has different mood swings which makes him easy to manipulate, Sasuke was just a jerk to people Especially to Naruto but even still He should’ve been closer to his friends than leaving the village.

@@shi3918 its complicated. his purpose for living was to get revenge. it kept his sanity. his friends couldn't get what he's gone through. if he met someone that went through the same trauma and decided a different then maybe he would've been more willing to listen. naruto had a tough past but there were still some differences such as not watching his love ones go away. in part 1, he was distant but i always felt like he got a bad rap because he at least didn't bother people. he checked on naruto in the land of waves arc when sakura and kakashi couldn't be bothered after he was gone for a day. he sacrifice his life instinctual to save him. things changed after itachi arrived but before that, i thought he was good kid given how fucked up his situation was.

True. Its mainly because instead of acknowledging how fk up he was becoming in universe, Kishi wrote Sasuke in a way in which the audience was suppose to like him, while Naruto and no one else every held him accountable for his actions.

Because Sasuke , after losing people he held dear , proceeds to use people and throw them away ( attempt to kill them ) once they're not good enough for him . He commits atrocities one after another and gets no repercussions . Suddenly Orochimaru and Kabuto want to help him out of nowhere and he is forgiven for everything. He is a horrible husband and a deadbeat father and when his kid rightfully calls him out , she is gaslit . Sasuke isn't a good person, so we dislike him .

@@ayhamahmad2277 Okay, are you just here to start an argument? First you say Kishimoto came up the ideas, then you agree his editors often had the ideas and act like I said the opposite. Kishimoto did not even intend for Naruto to be about Ninja until Yahigi told him so. From there Yahigi built the world of Naruto for him. There's an illustration of the early staff posing like Yakuza, with Yahigi in the front. Kishimoto is off sulking in the corner. That was basically the hierarchy of the team.

If I read the manga of naruto first I would not like naruto and if the anime of naruto did not have sAdness and sorrow I wouldn’t love naruto it as much as I do

​@@christopherrivera1673 Classic Naruto was great as it was all about inspiration, hard work and determination overcoming natural talent. Naruto's world building, characterisation and themes were incredibly captivating and only began to go downhill in Shippuden as it began to mainly focus on the conflicts between Naruto and Sasuke whilst forgetting all of the other characters that were built up in the first series. I really liked the fact that many of the main villains paralleled Naruto in one way shape or form as it really tied together this whole theme of nature vs nurture, that even though some people are born with amazing gifts and talents whereas other were not, they could almost always find a way to connect with one another through the suffering that they had endured allowing us to see how people may not be as different as they seem at first glance, which gives the audience insight into the various nuances of peoples situations and how complicated the world can actually be. Allowing us as the viewers to ponder on these ideals, seeing how circumstances can shape us into to who we are and whether or not letting the evil of this world turn us into cynical and pessimistic monsters is best, or if striving to overcome the evil in and around us through genuine love, perseverance and forgiveness is the better option.
