Thry should have showed more scenes of the sultanas wearing hijabs like this while meeting with men outside the harem as it's far more historically accurate than them just showing up in normal harem attire
I find it difficult to believe they were even allowed to meet men other than those linked to the harem in some way. This show is highly fictionalised. It romanticises awful practices of the Ottomans that were sugar coated out of proportion
You don't know that the womn' destiny , it' s always harger, comparing with men, it was and it still is, and will be, to other countries to other countries much more.
Because that is what was expected of her sons so they could continue the Dynasty. As for Mihrimah, her doing so would potentially put her and her brothers in danger. It is very sexist, but the double standard is baked into the system sadly.
Sometimes, I don't understand Hürrem! On one hand she says that if Suleyman die, she doesn't want to live and one the other hand, she always says to Mehmet that one day he will rule the Ottoman Empire and the world, which means that, she would become Sultana Valide! Something which years wanted to be! How normal that is??
I get the point that you're trying to make here, but, to be honest, it doesn't really line up the way that you think because you're forgetting that Mihrimah exists. Even if one of her sons took the throne, Hürrem could still opt to follow Suleiman in death because her daughter would be primed to step into her place (and historically _did_ do so).
I don't think that she's thought about it in that much detail. Mainly because it doesn't bear thinking about to her because the idea of losing any of them is too painful for her.
I am a huge fan of hurrem but the fact and for this I won’t ever like or support her! She never valued for mihrima’s feelings! Hurrem herself fell in love with suleiman, did everything to get her love! But here she herself deprived her daughter from her love and made her marry rustem for her son’s wellbeing! Selfish!
Well I suppose that's a bit different coz Hurrem was a slave and what she did wasn't out of the ordinary. In the case of Mihrimah, I think because she's a royal princess what she did didn't befit her position. Idk
