That 2016 loss in the divisional round always made me mad because I thought the Chiefs were the better team, but once again, felt like same old Chiefs in playoffs. I'm glad that Reid put everything in for Mahomes and making drafting him happen and put all the chips in the middle of table. I love Mahomes' baseball background as well. I really liked Alex Smith and so glad that Patrick got to be an understudy, but it was time to go all in and roll the dice for the Chiefs. And here we are today. Thanks for the documentary and timeline. It's so cool to see the young Mahomes pitching on the mound and playing basketball and his days and highlights at Texas Tech. What a journey!

Amazing Journey, The gamble really paid off for KC. Lets see if they can keep this going for another 10 years. They need to start working on finding a number 1 target because Kelce probably has 2 more good years in him

Mahomes in his first 7 seasons (6 as a starter) has accomplished as much as, if not more than, Tom Brady did in his first 11 (9 as a starter). 3-1 in Super Bowls, 2 MVPs, 3 Super Bowl MVPs vs. Tom's 2, 6 Pro Bowl selections, 2 1st-team All-Pro selections, 1 2nd-team All-Pro selection, 1 OPoY to Tom's 2, 15 playoff wins to Tom's 14, 6 conference championship games to Tom's 5, 50-TD MVP season with all-time great wideout that failed to produce a ring.

The loss to Tampa Bay in the Superbowl wasn't on Mahomes, the guy was literally running for his life the entire game due to having a depleted o-line because of injuries. Also, if you go back and actually watch the game, Mahomes was making plays here and there, but sadly his WR's were dropping the ball, it was a shit show all around.

💯 both of Mahomes losses to Brady in the playoffs are suspect. 2018 a stupid Dee Ford offside negated a game sealing INT AND the NFL still had the ridiculous sudden death OT rules. The Patriots D had zero answers to the Chiefs O during the second half of that game. In 2020 you said it, the Chiefs humiliated the Bucs with a healthy O line during the regular season. What is crazy is that Mahomes probably would've had FIVE rings if things had gone the Chiefs' way.

How in the world did Brady outclass Mahomes? Brady brought his experience as the longest lasting and most Super Bowl making player ever, against a mediocre at best Chiefs defense. While Mahomes was injured with turf toe running for his life behind an injury ravaged offensive line with only the worst starter left. Mahomes still played out of his mind in these circumstances and was the best player on the field for either team. All anyone wanted to talk about afterwards was how amazing the incompletions that he threw were. Unfortunately, his receivers couldn't catch anything and the refs seemed determined to not allow the Chiefs to enter the Red Zone. (Seriously, rewatch the game and see that every time the Chiefs got close, a penalty was called.) Another aspect of Mahomes game at that time, was that he hadn't yet adjusted his mindset to take what the defense was giving him. But was still trying to force deep balls for quick scores. The Buccaneers had an excellent defense that had just lost to him earlier that season and had learned from their mistakes and adjusted to play differently than they had ever shown on tape. The last influence on the game that I'll bring up, was that one of their coaches was in a bad accident the night before the Super Bowl and badly injured a little girl. The whole team seemed out of sorts including Andy Reid, who's son it was that was now facing the consequences of drunk driving.

I thought this is an amazing video very well done well put together well researched and I applaud the quality of it immensely 100%, but as far as I’m concerned, I know I’m a biased patriots fan, but he wants to be considered the greatest of all time, it’s about being as prolific and win at a consistent level for your entire career and I just think that Tom Brady is at rare exception of a person who found a way to get better each and every year, and it seemed like not only did you take team friendly deals to allow them to sign necessary players on offense and defense, but also allow them to flex out cap space as a teammate and provide the leadership to help guide them to six rings and countless other AFC championship game appearances and other accolades that won’t soon be matched with the biggest one being seven championships because Tom Brady and Bill Belichick were able to maintain that standard at the highest level for 20 years and I don’t know if Andy read after his long and successful career with the Eagles you have to wonder how much longer how much more time that he has left before he retires, and then Patrick Mahomes will have to adapt just like Brady did to new offensive coordinators and new staff and still find all sorts of ways to produce, and succeeded at that level imaging so many records that would take many years still, even with his incredible start for Mahomes to ever even come close to passing Brady, but he definitely put himself in the discussion as one of the greatest winning his third championship now yes navigate the middle of his career where Brady found himself overwhelmed and struggling still being able to compete at a high-level and still coming up just short so that remains to be seen but he has made a promising start and if he can have the longevity that Tom Brady had then I have no doubt that he will be in that discussion and I will tip my cap to him as the goat if you could match the amount of rings that Brady has along with his other accomplishments as he retired with every major passing statistic in NFL history, making him not just the greatest quarterback, but the greatest NFL player of all time in my opinion, but I’m sure that will come with a grain of salt and very subjective given the evolution of the game of football throughout the years but he’s off to a fantastic start so I’m excited to see where he can go and even as a patriots fan I still find myself rooting for his success because records are made to be broken.if he could have eight rings at the end of his career like Tom Brady did with every major passing statistic that Brady was able to do over his 23 years in the league then I’ll gladly concede that he really is the best of all time, even if Tom Brady was my guy in my quarterback, and he proved it every single week. He’s definitely see a lot of the same qualities in Patrick that you see in Tom.

I Agree with you, it will be very hard to surpass Brady because of rings but Don't forget, Brady went 10 Years without Whining a ring. He wasn't view as the Goat then. From to 2005 to 2015. he was very average outside of couple years. Mahomes has proven he can win with a high power offense but he also proved that He can win with an average offense but a good defense. His current deal is very team friendly and i think in a couple year when andy reid retires they will get a younger coach and over spend on receiver to make sure he still has success. the beautifull thing about this is, we just have to wait and see, I believe in 10 years we will all know the answer to this.

Lazy analysis on Super Bowl 55. Mahomes had a 8th 9th and 10th offensive lineman on the roster in front of him, and was running for his life all day, I read somewhere that his linear ran or scrambling yards with something like 500 ground yards of scrambling. Remember that he put two balls, including the unbelievable horizontal throw, on guys face masks/ in their hands and dropped two touchdowns . If he has an offensive line in front of him no question, that game is a toss-up at the end

The fact that you brushed off Patrick Mahomes Super Bowl loss to the Buccaneers as him being out of sorts and being stymied by their defense is an absolute travesty. He bore absolutely no responsibility zero not a single bit. He was playing with a completely makeshift offensive line who could not protect him. He lost his starting left tackle in the AFC Championship game. He lost other parts of that offensive line in the previous weeks.. there wasn't a single offensive lineman playing in their normal position. Add on the fact that his receivers dropped some absolute catchable balls, there was nothing more he could do. Pretty sure he sent a record for the most yards scrambled behind the line of scrimmage in a game, I believe it was over 300 yd Other than that big glaring misstatement, it was a good video

At 20:42 - "In my opinion Mahomes' is already the greatest of all time." Only in your wet dreams, PickSix. Mahomes is without a doubt a great QB. He has everything it takes to be the GOAT; skill, talent, mentality, dedication, will, drive, etc. But, until he passes Brady, which I think he might do, Brady is the GOAT.

I don't think he needs to pass brady because brady wasn't even the man when he won his first couple super bowl, he was more of game manager, similar to brock purdy. Mahomes plays the QB position better than anyone I’ve seen. Compared to Brady, Mahomes has a stronger arm, can run better, can extend plays better, is more creative, is just as accurate, reads defenses just as well, can throw from more arm angles, and I can’t think of one thing Brady does better. If you define GOAT as who wins more Superbowls, then you’re saying Trent Dilfer and Nick Foles are better than Dan Marino.
@jcopp2031
@jcopp2031 Месяц назад
@@PickSix6 "I don't think he needs to pass brady [sic]" You're the only person I know of that thinks that. Every sports show I've watched or listened to, the commentators all think Mahomes needs to match or pass Brady in almost all categories in order to replace Brady as the GOAT. "[Brady] was more of game manager ... when he won his first couple super bowl [sic]" Not even close. Brady was never a "game manager," not even when he took over after Bledsoe got hurt. Bledsoe was the first over-all pick in the 1993 draft and had just signed a then-record ten-year, $103 million contract in 2001. If Brady was just a game manager, Bledsoe would have gotten his starting position back after he recovered from his injury. He didn't because Brady had shown that he was the better QB. Just the same as Alex Smith was traded because Mahomes had shown he was the better QB. "Mahomes has been a top QB from a day one" Not even close. Go back and re-watch this video. Mahomes 2017 rookie season stats: 22 completions in 35 attempts (62.9%) 284 yards, 0 TDs, 1 Int, 76.4 QB rating His break-out season was his second in 2018. "if [Mahomes] can get to 5 rings. he will definitely be the Goat" I'm more than confidant and willing to bet that Mahomes will win 5 SB rings (he already has 3 in seven years). But SB rings alone are not what makes the GOAT at the QB position. Brady holds a shit-load of NFL records. A sample: REGULAR SEASON: Wins: 251 Pro Bowls: 15 MVP Awards: 3 Completions: 7,753 Attempts: 12,050 Passing Yards: 89,214 (the closest active player is 40-year old Aaron Rodgers at #9 with 59,055 yds.) (Mahomes has 28,424 yds in 7 years. He would have to play to age 41 and average 5,000 yds/year for the next 12+ years to get close to Brady's 89K yards.) Passing Touchdowns: 649 POST SEASON: Appearances (season): 20 Games Started: 48 Wins: 35 Super Bowl Appearances: 10 Super Bowl Wins: 7 Super Bowl MVP: 5 Completions: 1,200 Passing Yards: 13,400 Passing Touchdowns: 88 Game-Winning Drives: 14 Fourth-Quarter Comebacks: 9 Brady finished his 23-year career as the most accomplished player in NFL history. I think Mahomes can get there, but he's not even close yet. Granted his first seven years are better than Brady's first seven, but Brady got better with age. The second half of Brady's career was better than the first half. Mahomes will be 29 at the start of the 2024 season. Let's see where he is in 5 years when he's 34 and again in five more years at age 39. At those points we'll have a better view of his career and the hard stats to make a more realistic assessment of whether or not he deserves to be the GOAT.
