This was also the first year of last 6 where Mahomes had a top 15 defense. Brady never went to the playoffs with a defense 15 or worse. In short, Brady may have carried his team at times but he always had a good defense to back him up. Mahomes never did until this past year.

Otto Graham went to the championship game all 10 seasons as a player, 6 in the NFL. He won 7 total, 3 of them in the NFL. Neither Brady or Mahomes have come near that.

This season Mahomes was carried by his defense.... Mahomes was reminiscent of Early Brady years this year, carried by his defense.

Obviously, if a team beats another team, then every single player on the winning team is better than their counterpart on the other team, even if they are never on the field at the same time 😂

The thing that gets me the most about that loss in the SB is the fact that earlier in the season when we had our OL we defeated them rather easily. We lost our last starting OL in the AFCCG the game prior and were literally using guys off the street to play in the Super Bowl.

Which isn't true, obviously, so this "little omission" when talking about SBLV is extremely convenient for Brady-boosters, since it gives the impression that Brady slew a dragon, rather than beating a severely battered and depleted team. Not to mention, Mahomes was playing on a torn plantar fascia that was so bad it required surgery after the loss. But that can't be acknowledged, because then it becomes clear that Tom's win over Pat was a gimme driven more by their D than any particular brilliance from Brady. And didn't he only play 2 more seasons where his team went nowhere, before he retired? Yeah, they won fairly, but how'd that ring prove anything beyond how an old elite QB who's healthy and well-protected can beat a young elite QB who's barely protected at all? Wow, so, so impressive, considering our offense carried our D that year, too. You can't spell "Brady SB ring" without a D, but you can spell "Patrick Lavon Mahomes II SB ring" without a D to speak of.

@@bookman7409 The thing is, I wont even claim we WOULD have won had our OL been healthy, but it would have been a radically different game. (though I honestly believe we would have crushed them, had our players caught balls even that game is different)

@@dalehammers4425 I'm with you on that, a win wouldn't be a lock, but had his foot or OL had been good, the score would've been closer, at the very least. And now I'm thinking back on it, our O actually put our D behind the 8-ball on several occasions. That couldn't have helped them, but it did help Tom.

It will be something that even Brady could never do. If Mahomes only gets 5 rings but has the 3 peat, I dont think there will be an argument any longer. I very seriously doubt Mahomes plays as long as Brady did, he actually enjoys going home to his wife lol.

While I utterly despise using rings to compare since its team efforts not individual effort, I agree it will take Mahomes a minimum of 5. HOWEVER if he threepeats this year, most bets are off the table, he accomplished something even Brady could never do. That would put him at 4 rings and the most dominant stretch in football history.

Its not remotely up for debate really, Brady's first 3 rings were handed to him on a golden platter by his defense. But so was Mahomes' last one. This is precisely why I hate using rings as an indicator of GOAT.

Brady lead the league in Pass TDs in 2002 his 1st full year as a starter with no weapons and the finished 3rd in MVP in 2003 he was the best player in the NFL after that 03 SB when he bailed out his No1 defense w 350yds 3TDs You Brady haters just keep spewing same dumb narratives

@@kennethcadwell2124 Which stat the number of playoff wins, number of season wins, passing yards, TD, rush TD etc… it always makes me laugh when you think that Mahomes career stats are anywhere near the ones of someone who played 23 seasons (actually 22 if you exclude the 2008 season that ended on the 1st or 2nd game of the season if I zremember correctly) to Mahomes 6 seasons he played.

The person above claimed that some of Brady's stats are safe. Meaning they would never be surpassed........ As long as Mahome's continues to play. None of Brady's stats are safe........

So how is that not comparing 23 vs 6? Then again if you are comparing Brady first 6 to Mahomes first 6? Did you consider that during his first 6 years Brady had no one that was HOF worthy while Mahomes had Kelce and Hill on the roster in their prime since day 1. Did you factor that in your stats? Did you take into account that the league was much more physical and less offence oriented how did that factor in your comparison? Did you take into account that the very next year Brady blew up the league with 50 TD and a 16-0 season? I guess not you probably took everything at face value and just said Mahomes is the clear winner. When we know that now there is more passing yards and TD then 20+ years ago on average in the NFL. So of course you can take Mahomes inflated numbers by the rule changes and just declare Mahomes the clear winner but that would be just as stupid as comparing Brady’s 23 season to Mahomes 6 without making any adjustments. Wouldn’t it?

There really isnt a single thing Brady has right now that is safe from Mahomes other than longevity. If Mahomes decides to play as long as Brady did, every single thing Brady accomplished is likely taken by Mahomes.

I am tired of Brady homers throwing around the 7 SB championships as if that is the only stat that matters.........
