@@msjahun they said that the actual money couriers identities are kept secret, they seem to be public because they're in South Korea. By the looks of it, they appear to be the truckers that come in and out through the Chinese/North Korean border.
Thanks for producing this! Witnessing what is happening and what people going through really touches you on so many levels. Clean, ethical and helpful journalism at its finest!
You have to thank the bbc for exposing north korean defectors and putting the lives of their love ones in n.korea in danger. Kim jong un now can go to their houses abd inprison them because this is a mortal sin to kim kong un
That truck driver. I hope one day he can bring his wife and children to South Korea and be reunited again. His hard work should be rewarded somehow. And I understand that it's wrong but why can't the police turn a blind eye when it's 100% sure it goes to family in North Korea and not the regime? I bet quite a few know someone that has family in the north.
Wow your a ignorant individual, you know up till 1970s N.K was way more prosperous then the south, once US got involved in the 50s and after the war US had to build the south from nothing, so in reality it's only been the last 30yrs sucks to be in N.K But as of 2019 N.k has normal food rations, they export lots of weapons, they are sole responsibility for the Myanmar war, they supply weapons, But Russia & china & Brazil give N.K lots of food now, Only people who don't do research & just watch internet like yourself have no understanding of real what going on They have a embassy in Poland & most of the construction in Poland is done by N.K men
Dear BBC, you guys know this man (the truck driver), i want to donate sth. to him, can you help me? I cannot imagine what he is going through. He needs help, he would be happy about and i would be happy about it. Yours, Manuel.
😢😢 one of the saddest parts about the documentary is that if another North Korean sees another family eating well, they know that they’re receiving aid from outside and they report them rather than them sharing it’s just sad how abnormal it is to eat. They’re used to having little to no food as a norm.
Those parents probably had their forst real meal that in years, poison grass...fact that someone gets so hungry that they resort to that is sad, rural areas need more development its sad for the countryside still, cities are actually doing really well in north korea but countryside seems to be getting worse, i pray the North opens its doors for just few years so red cross & other medical agencies can help the kids,
as a democratic socialist (that supports bernie sanders), i think that is the ethical thing to do. someone who unfair beats the system without helping others should be punished. they should evenly distribute the rice and help as many people as they can, even if it means they will only eat well for a day and starve for the rest of the year. everyone should be equal. no one deserves to be better than others
Redistributing rice makes it more obvious to the authorities lol. Did the other family take the risk of sending and recieving money? If not then only that family should be compensated. Why should those people receive a free handout when they didn't bother earning money outside of Korea@@fearmetoo-le8dw
I'm still a bit skeptical. It's clear the people delivering the money ask the receivers to make a video (supposedly as proof the money was received) like the ones shown in this video. But what if they just threaten those poor receivers, keep the money and extort them with this video evidence? It could very easily turn into a predatory situation
Every n.korea video ive seen shows people sewm to dress like back in the 90s, trousers, coats, dresses, blazers and the ladies have like 50s - 90s hairstyles and it makes me wonder if all these videos are actually taken in these during this decarde or not. I hope one day n.korea citizens can travel freely in and out of their country and that their loved ones who live abroad can visit them freely too.
This is a good reminder for those people who admire Kim jung on and Putin,, you better go and live your life there,, let see if you you'll find it admirable in real life.
Tbh I find it surprising that NK is hard on defectors sending money to NK, and finding SK tolerance of it atleast until now. I thought since they are on saction and such and have criminal enterprise to get foreign currency, one would think they will turn a blind eye so they can tax the families of the defectors, and get dollars, yuan, euros etc.
But why are you sharing everything on a video. Especially location, what kind of phones.etc. don't you think north korean are watching. why reveal anything to the enemy
Kim Jung Eun is afraid of people's getting rich. That is against communist's policy. General population should be eqaully poor and powerless. Poor and powerless people can be easily controlled by communist government. Moreover, Kim Jung Eun is very much afraid of South Korea's money or K-culture influence.
Interesante el video. Confirma que existen campos de prisioneros políticos, pero los familiares no son enviados a esos campos cuando uno de ellos desertan.
😂😂 surprise surprise, I also heard somewhere that during these "Elections" Kim Jong Un wold get 100% of the vote but this time, it was only 99.9%😂 which meant some problems for the state. Said the article 😂😂
Yes there are elections because according to the regime they are a democratic country. You can only vote for one person though and I believe you have to vote otherwise you are punished. And of course no one else will step up and say I want to give it a go and rule the country. That's impossible and if you still try worse things will happen to you and your family.
Who are you to judge, did you see their life? Do you think it's easy to find a job in South Korea when you are a DPRK defector? It's like African migrants who came to Europe thinking they'd send money home, only to find out that the grass is not actually _that_ much greener over here. People don't just hand you money on a plate.
@@TheKing60210 I understand that part but they probably put their family at more risk by escaping without them, if what we hear about North Korea is true.

What is the point of showing a video snippet if you censor all of it? It is like you want to show something without showing it. Downvoted for that reason.
Let me guess… you were born in the west? Somewhere where there’s democracy? Somewhere with freedom of speach? Somewhere where you couldn’t possibly imagine that something like sending money can be impossible… because your government allows you. How close am l?
