Nice to see Townsend coming back again. Was there last September and not to many places to eat especially during the week. Miss the Carriage House as it was when our kids were young and the Back Porch restaurant on the edge of town. The place you are at was very good. I hope they keep up the good work. Love you guys thank you for your commentary.

I’m with you all. I HATE paper straws !! Food looks Delicious!! I’m glad to see Townsend get more restaurants. There wasn’t many when we lived down there.
Definitely going to check it out this fall. Love the videos on the outskirts of the busy areas. My next trip is going to be focused in those places. Great video!

One thing you might add to check, for those coming from out of town are the restrooms. Sounds funny, but like at The Hawk ride on, I believe in Wears Valley when you get to top and sit in rockers are there restrooms? Just things like that for travelers. Not a big deal just added information. Okay, my 2 cents for what it is worth. Plus, are the clean! Lol Enjoy your reviews so much!!

WE LIVE IN Knoxville AND WE EAT THERE SEVERAL TIMES A MONTH. LOVE COMING TO TOWNSEND. WE HAVE ALSO STAYED NEXT DOOR AT THE RIVERSTONE LODGE SEVERAL TIMES. USED TO BE THAT IF YOU STAY AT THE LODGE YOU COULD GET A FREE BREAKFAST. RIVERSTONE LODGE IS OUR FAVORITE PLACE TO EAT IN TOWNSEND.
Will & Dawn, Really enjoyed the video - food looked yummy ! Whenever ya'll go back to NC, please try to go "EAST", and try this places, some of which are off " the beaten path" : 1. Salem Pizza- (Salemburg NC)- They have a SEAFOOD buffet on Fri & Sat night - get there at 5pm because they get packed ! 2. WILBERS BBQ - (Goldsboro NC)- delicious whole hog, Eastern NC BBQ ! 3. McCall's Bbq & Seafood - In Goldsboro NC as well, right across from Wilbers ! 4. Meadow Village Restaurant - (Benson NC)- good Southern buffet where you will NOT find a BIGGER selection of homemade cakes & pies ! In trying Southern cooking from VA to Fla, Eastern NC is HARD to beat !! 😋
We always stop there when we go to Cades cove,it's always good and good service,we have been going there for years the pancakes are wonderful you should try them sometimes,enjoy guys look forward to next video

We were in Townsend last week and didn’t even see this restaurant as we usually stay there twice a year. We tried Apple Valley restaurant for the first time and that had great food and the staff was so nice and apologetic for the longer wait due to staff shortage. We enjoy your blogs and glad to see you doing restaurant reviews in Townsend. Keep up the GREAT WORK!!!

I’m like you, I hate paper straws. I’m glad they have plastic ones. Hubby and I need to try this restaurant out. We like supporting the mom and pop places.
We have been here for lunch each time we are up there and consistently been pleased. Service always quick and friendly and down home food served hot and plenty. Now after seeing your video we’ll try breakfast but with biscuits n grits 😂!
BACON ,yum!! Now this restaraunt looks real good. Reminds me of the old Midway restaurant in Lewisburg Ohio back in the 70's-80's when I was a child. Good home cooking!! Miss it!!
Enjoyed your review. I agree with what you said about hole in the wall restaurants having good food. Not long ago truck stops with their own restaurants had the best food but now most have chain restaurants in there just not the same.
You ate @ my favorite place and at my table!! LOVE LOVE LOVE Riverstone Restaurant!! The staff is superb!! Now SSSSSHHH!! Dont want it crowded when I come back!!! LOL
I love omelettes minus the sausage... Veggie omelettes are my favorite! It all looked good though... Portion size was good... Other one trash omelette has to be huge. Definitely probably would have to share. I love hashbrowns and grits.. I eat more grits in TN than Ohio. Its not a dish for everyone, but Old Pottery has delicious Shrimp and Grits...
You missed out by not getting the pancakes! They are the best!! You have got to go back and try them. I can’t wait for our yearly trip back just for them❤️❤️
We did not have a good experience there last spring. They did not mask up when it was still required, we had to ask another waitress for refills of coffee and our bill because our waitress disappeared and didn’t bother to check back on us. Food was just okay. Hillbilly’s in Wears Valley is so much better!
Yeah, I don't like paper straws either. Isn't that mayo on the table supposed to be refrigerated? I would have gotten what Dawn did. I need lots of napkins too. My kids nicknamed me the napkin queen. Lol. Great video. Thank you for sharing.
We've enjoyed the Riverstone Restaurant in Townsend. Niw..when are u and Dawn going to try Trish's on 321 toward Cosby. Their breakfast menu and selections are terrific, and service is outstanding. Go there..you'll love it. We were there last week..just great!
Ok..we were in Townsend today doing the sky lift you recommended. It was AWESOME. Met Steve and Edie up top....had a cup of coffee....best time since we arrived last Sunday. Gatlinburg has proven to be too much for us too crowded...too much goings on. The we ate lunch at the BURGER MASTER. Best burger EVAH! Been on a WILL AND DAWN search but keep missing you.😥

I ate at Riverstone years ago and had a wonderful hamburger. We had just came back from Cades Cove and stopped in late to eat. We ordered our food and it came quick. We later found out that Riverstone had closed for the evening, but they were so gracious and kept the restaurant open for us. We felt really bad keeping their employees later than usual, but again, they were so kind. I will never forget their kindness to us. I can not wait to get back to the Smokies and eat at Riverstone again.
I wish they had places that cooked burgers etc. for breakfast, im not a bacon eggs kinda person. I wonder how the lunch food is there. Ill def be watchin for your lunch review!! Love you guys!
We ate lunch there and it was very good! I had the hamburger steak and it was huge and really good! Great service too. They also have outdoor seating but I loved the big roomy table.
That omelette had a lot of sausage and cheese.Very unusual.I think “ non descript “ would be better then a hole in the wall.Usually a hole in the wall describes a really small place.Enjoy your content and think the two of you are great.
Not good that the mayonnaise is out of the fridge, it even says refrigerate after opening. It's made with eggs. The food looked good but that was scary.
I think you should get a kickback from these restaurants that you do a review on cuz you do everything from the time you walk in that door to the time you leave food service assistance and seating everything
Your right. I hate paper straws. When I’ve gotten paper straws, their put in a plastic cup, lol. Like what’s the point? Have you guys went on a horse and carriage ride at cafes cove? It’s fun!
Looks great to me! That omelette would be my choice. I switched off my 30 year diet Mountain Dew habit several years back. I went to coffee in the morning it worked out great for me.

Usually eat there when in town always friendly service food was good...they have a little place outback🌿🌲 if you want to eat outside and my pets 🐕🐕 were welcomed to join me 😊
