Love National Road. couldn't imagine life with out it. Anytime I have the time and I'm travelling I 70 east or west I take the scenic route. Old National Road is the scenic route and it surely is.
In 1777, Indians attacked Fort Henry and Major Samuel McCoullough fled by successfully jumping a 300 foot cliff to escape during the Revolutionary War. A monument was erected on National Road to commemorate the historic site.
