Explaining Moxley is going to Japan is to learn Kenny's secrets. Tully as Spear's manager. The awesome backstage brawl to set up a triple threat. Handsome ass CVV in the control center. This is all brilliant stuff. Super well done episode. Friggen genius
Best Horseman they could've gotten for that role. He's well-spoken and not over the top. I'm so thrilled he agreed to do this. I was interested in the Cody/Spears feud before but his involvement peaked my interest level at 100%.
I think with the young bucks knowing the youtube aspect of life they probably know not everyone is able to watch the tv show and be easier to catch it on RU-vid. Had to be a reason why they have a youtube channel.
yea it is pretty bad ass moxley following the footsteps of his prey right now he is 3-0 in the G1. got a felling that mox is going to win against kenny
@@DXHatakeKakashi If AEW and NJPW would get along it would be the perfect excursion for Umino. But last I heard NJPW is still pissed at The Elite guys for bailing on them.
@@Timeyy Its such a shame too because Mox and Shota have such a unique storyline. I'm curious to see if Shota adopts Mox's style when on his excursion in homage.
Janela vs Allin vs Havoc is gonna be WILD! Also love how Moxley’s run in New Japan is being acknowledge as a way for him to scout Kenny Omega. Just brilliant.
Got to love the story lines AEW has set up. Unlike one company I know (wink..wink) where a wrestler loses 3 or 4 matches in a row and then still gets a championship title shot. But - I wonder what type of match its going to be? A hardcore type match would be better than just a regular match for these guys.
I honestly rolled my eyes when I read that! The first thought that came to me was...."my god, you arrogant cunt!" Some have tried to compare rollins with Guerrero from 04 regarding cracking up under the expectations! Difference being his that Eddie acknowledged that he was struggling to live up to those expectations but dealt with it on his own instead of shoving onto others (I guess it was just too much pride before the fall) and rollins is nothing more then a company correspondent who plays to a tune without any personal input! He does what he's told and when to do it......and blames us for his shortcomings! Some legacy that prick is going to leave behind!
I love how simple but effective the line is. It immediately helps to establish that wins and loses matter. The motivations also make sense, in Darby's zealousness to make an impact after being overshadowed by Shawn Spears he tagged himself in when Jimmy probably had the match won. Makes perfect sense that Havoc and janella would be pissed.
Joey Janela did more there of proper pro wrestling than Ive ever seen from him. He emphasised his background, the companies sports focus, and his ajimosity towards his partners. No bs Good work from him!
This is one of the best videos to promote a wrestling show that I’ve seen in a while. Everything feels so well thought out and real. Tully talking for like 3 min about one single chair shot and how it’s the catalyst for one of the biggest names in AEW. A backstage brawl where each guy proves how important wins and losses are to them with Joey screaming “Now I’m 0 and 2!!!” And Mox’s pure intensity and how he NEEDS to prove how dangerous he really is. All Out is going to be one hell of a show!
So at All In, we have the story of Cody trying to live up to his fathers legacy... at All Out, we have him trying to save it against his fathers enemy.
Love how Moxley puts in that New Japan canon into the match coming up with Omega. Has to learn what Omega has been through in Japan to really get to know his opponent. Nice touch in storytelling.
I LOVED IT! Brilliant. Vince didn't know what he had, especially after Ambrose/Moxley came back from his life-threatening staff infection and turned heel clearly the way WWE wanted him to do, maybe not how HE would've done it.
And they do it so fluently. Remember how much guessing we had for the direction of AEW, given that there were no stories going on at all. They really rounded out things just by occurrence. Occurrences are what make movies bad but they managed make it work in pro wrestling nicely
Jimmy havoc joey janela and Darby Allin will be awesome. Plus Chris Van Vliet in the control center!! Edit: Also love how Moxley brought up him being Japan as a way to train for Kenny
I really hope when they get on TNT this is some of what airs on cable. Their video packages are top notch. That Tully sitdown interview segment was cash.
Simple, logical story telling. The triple threat is because they are pissed that they lost and blame each other. Perfect. If this is a taste of the TV show, then I am extremely excited.
I like it because it brings some of the things I love about New Japan like the ring work and simple storytelling to North America with a North American style. Now they have a long way to go before they are as good as New Japan, but this sort of story telling is a good step in the right direction.
This is not just about a loss. This is about getting an opportunity in a company they all probably would not have in other places, an opportunity that comes after years of struggling with no money and each bleeding buckets of blood. None of these guys can afford to fall to 0-2 or 0-3. Somebody is going to get their dream on track and the two others are going to have a lot of work to do to be in the title picture as wins count in AEW. Records count.
Wins and losses are made to matter and you have 3 guys pissed at eacother because they blame eachother simple and effective. Mox tying in his NJPW work in to scouting Kenny is great as well.
DayFul That’s what makes it so incredible, they wanna win and not lose! As Janela said “I’m 0-2!” He sounded genuinely pissed that he hasn’t won a match yet and it’s great
You'd think it was an impossible feat. Wow, people who connect with the fans and make amazing product. I hope this shock wave reverberates so big that jaws drop so hard they fall off when Stamford see's how to run a real show!
You guys need to air this stuff on TNT as some kind of extended commercial. Just to help build hype for the ppv and for the show this fall. People that don't watch RU-vid would be in the know that much more.
farscape1 yea it sucks that dusty isnt alive to be at ring side for cody for the match but we know that he watching down on cody and guide him, since he knows all of tully tricks
This is fucking amazing. This is the best Moxley promo I have ever heard. Gives a storyline reason why he is in njpw, gives a reason why he went for kenny, and gives a reason for us to want this outside of a great wrestling match. I need this type of storytelling directly in my veins. Also Tully Blanchard completes the verification of Shawn Spears. He really is no longer tye dillinger, he is the chairman. Also shoutout to Van Vliet
WWE take note. This is how you build up your talent. This is how you build drama. This is how you get taken serious. Pro wrestling at it’s finest. AEW!!
@@Phoenixbrand95 The fact that you are comparing a prime time tv show to a web series shows how much of a moron you are. And Raw got a 2.12 rating which is what WCW had in it's dying day's it will go down next week. Why don't we wait until October when Cross the Line debuts on TNT to compare huh douch bag
@@sdudley11 Made suprise debute at Double or nothing, Won US title at NJPW, Adopted Shota Umino (now that young lion is his title carrying bitch), entered G1 Climax, destroyed Joey Janela, also is destroying at the g1 climax (lesion is: don't piss him off). Yeah he is a bad ass. Can't seem to stop comparing him to something Stone Cold was (when Austin 3:16 wasn't trying to make people laugh). Like really the feel is there, when Moxley walks in a match at NJPW
Nah, it's mad disrespectful to say Jon Moxley is the "most improved". The guy was ALREADY great a long time ago----he just wasn't able to show his full potential up until now.
@@wackratos8072 Sandman was always mid carder (also horrible wrestler), Austin in Wcw wrestled technical matches , Moxley just had Shingo tap out (first time in NJPW Shingo was submitted) also loves to pick a spot on work on it just like Austin,.
I love the Moxley interview. That is how you talk fans into arenas and buy PPVs to see your match. Simple but effective storytelling that Moxley is working Japan to integrate his experience there in this match with Omega. He called Omega a Myth and a Legend and uses that to fuel his own desire to prove he is the best. That was such an effective interview and it was less than 2 minutes
Bryan Mahoney The irony is that the talent pool that's called independent contractors are the ones being micro-managed into ineffectiveness. This is proof.
The only bad thing about these videos is how quickly they seem to end. I get really sucked into the stories, and... wait, it's over? I want more! Extremely well done.
Lee Therilus Damn good question. His familiarity with pain allows for potential for him to do so, but I haven't seen enough of his matches to give an informed opinion. I imagine it depends on who he's working with and what story they decide to tell in the ring. I've no doubt that the right opponent would snug up on him if he doesn't, at that.
Greatest promo in wrestling history?! You are either very young or gullible. Please don't insult the actual greatness of the 70's and 80's and mid to late 90's with that garbage
@@c.l.freeman7654 relax, an over exaggeration due to the fact that it is better than anything we've seen in a long time. Mox is on fire right now, no one can touch his current promo work. He is literally the most interesting character in the business today.
@@wulozhiro6009 well that's a completely different case, though any Briscoe Brother's promo eclipses this in my opinion. When you watch wrestling close to 40 years its easy to say that wasnt the greatest
@@thewrestlingfan6627 honestly... nobody understands that nowadays... unlimited music to download, unlimited films, wwe producing like 10 hours of wrestling a week. People are confused by the feeling of anticipation.
I love how Mox is tying his time in the G1 into his strategy for beating Omega...well done fellas that is A+ story for the feud. take out the man, take out the legend..
This shit is the best. That's all. Also, why didn't Scorpio run in to break up the fight while wearing nothing but a towel? Fight would've ended sooner. >:O
That was a surprise seeing Chris Van Vliet on here. I am glad that he's doing well, his work is always great. Haha Kevin Owens mystery solved, Jon Moxley threw the pie.
Wish I could thumb this up more than once! I popped with every single segment in this vid, especially seeing the No 1 reporter in the game officially working for AEW. I haven’t looked forward to a PPV as much as this in 20 years. Can’t wait for weekly TV! Thank you AEW for bringing me back to WRESTLING!
Shawn Spears became the Tully Blanchard in AEW. A possible faction on the rise? Darby Allin has my full support when he faces Joey Janela and Jimmy Havoc. Wise continuity from Moxley on his time in New Japan, while teaching everything he knows to his apprentice: *Shota Umino.*
What a brilliant first step toward AEW's professed goal of "making wins and losses matter again." Wrestlers tearing each other apart over losses. Janela screaming "I'm 0-2!!! I'm 0-2!!!" LOVE it.
heloves23 From what I've seen lately, he's been replaced by Cornette. If I'm not mistaken, he filled the role that CVV did on this vid on at least one of the F.F.T.F. hype vids, so the waters are muddy on this issue.
Its just cool to see Tony so in demand. Wasnt his fault he was calling garbage in the last year or so of WCW. Hes one of my voices of wrestling (im a JCP/wcw guy) and to see him working with JR again would be great. Buy out the contract when tv starts. It wont be too big.
@@CMBell1985 yeah i agree. and Tony and J.R could probably work each other really well as they have such a great history going head to head. lets hope =)
I'm just soaking up this up, so enjoyable. I get more excited/interested from one of these videos than a whole Wrestlemania build these days. Keep it rolling AEW, and thanks :)
Much love from South Florida! AEW, I love what you’re doing! I’ve haven’t been this excited about a wrestling product in years! Chris Van Vilet is awesome! I see him everyday on channel 7 and he truly LOVES WRESTLING Keep it going guys! This is super refreshing
@@npc1197 Hmm...yes they can also do that. Just remembered in most Triple Threat matches the rules are very loose. Problem is most of them (well this year) they don't take advantage of this (or is trying to get away from it for some reason). Damn you 2019 logic lol
Amazing episode! I love that wins and losses count in AEW, that's why Janela freaked out. And line of the year goes to Moxley, hands down.. "Omega is putting on 60 minute classics in Japan and I'm hitting people in the face with cream pies on TV." LOL 😂
Moxley wrestling in Japan to learn all the different styles, all the skills that Omega mastered so he'll be ready for Kenny at All Out. Right there you've linked what I'm watching in the G1 to AEW and now both make me care more about the other. I appreciate that.
