The Avebury stone circle and the surrounding landscape is perhaps the most spectacular site in the British Isles. The monuments are so old they were more ancient to those we call ancient today, and little to nothing of their original purposes is known to us.
In this video I start my journey/pilgrimage to this ancient site and stop off at a few pubs and churches along the way - I spend the night in a field in vale of Pewsey.
Note to walkers: Take care crossing the A303 by Andover - I was surprised there was an actual footpath across the tarmac! it is extremely dangerous and by the looks of it, rarely crossed!
Other sections of the path appear on maps, some are not maintained, seldom trod and completely impassable, even if they are signposted!
None of the music is mine.
It can be found on the RU-vid audio library.
Art and paintings are taken from google images and not my work - just putting this out here.
