It's somewhat bizarre to me that executives will say things like "a nondescript train ride through a mountain in India or something" without a shred of awareness as to why people love Disney's Animal Kingdom so much. This series perfectly encapsulates everything I adore about that park. Thanks so much for putting this together and sharing it with us.

Well technically all he said was "nondescript coaster somewhere, that maybe is in India or whatever". He was just inventing an example, but people assumed he was talking about Expedition Everest on their own. Everest is located on the border of Nepal and China, it's not anywhere near the border of India.

I’d say you really nailed the reference photos. I hadn’t thought about it before, but I’m glad you made an active choice to avoid the colonial architecture for the reasons you described. Thanks for a great video!

Just got back from finally seeing Animal Kingdom. Pulled my hat almost over my eyes so that the obvious signs were hidden and just let myself get lost. It's an incredible place. The level of immersion and storytelling is beyond incredible, vibrant and yet very subtle. All the very best rides (Haunted Mansion, for example) don't spell out the story. You're placed in it and surrounded by moments that hint at years of activity. The entire Animal Kingdom Park is one huge story that all works together - not only of conservation of the planet and animals but also these beautiful precious enclaves of endangered human settlements - everyone from the Nepalese Sherpa people to the almost forgotten characters who run roadside attractions along route 66. I adore the castles, flying elephants, and pirates and always will but AK is the most beautiful, immersive and deeply considered theme park to ever exist. How did you get away with that?!

Swahili architecture is a branch of Islamic architecture built mostly by Arabs and Persians. Authentic sub-Saharan architecture is no more advanced than what beavers and termites build.

Lies, Arabs don't build in Coral stone, the swahili's did build in coral stone which proves that Arabs did not build any of the ruins you find in tanzania, kenya and other. Islamic world before the 6th century did not even exist and arabs just like sub-alps europeans we're the youngest civilisation in human history. In asia you have the yellow river, the indus valley and in africa you got the nile valley with the oldest civilisation being Nubia whihc dates back to 8000 B.C but who's first kingship emerged in 3300 B.C, when europe and arabia was still living unfortunely in absolute savagery and it would stay like that for most of europe until the romans brutally colonize sub-alps europeans and civilise them. When talking about sub-alps europe, there is absolutely no traces of intellctuallism until the 800 year muslim colonisation of the iberian peninsula. kalabsha Temples • Deffufa Temple ruins of Kerma • Nubian pyramids of Nuri • Nubian statues • Nubian cities • Capital of Kerma • Nubian architecture • Nubian temples • El Kurru tomb • Musawwarat al-Sufra • Pyramid of Turu • Songo Mnara • Omani Fort • Kilwa Kisiwani • Kilwa ruins • Benin pyramid • Great Benin Wall • Gidan Rumfa • Mandara ruins Cameroon ALL built by Black africans and some of those sites are older than even the foundation of rome 😂😂😂 The education system gave you westerns false sense of superiority this is why you sub-alps europeans are surpised by China dominating you economically this badly (China GDP PPP is at 23 Trillion, higher than the USA's 21Trillion). Matters of african history are very complex for people like westerners who don't even know their gender, decide which gender you are before trying to indulge in complex matters such as african civilisation. Thank you.
