I had a hair transplant on my crown , in Bangkok where I live. They also did some on the front of my hair. I've been taking Finastride before hand and after. I've also had PRP treatment recently.

I did read studies that Creatine does raise DHT, within normal levels but does raise it, so as we all thought Creatine induces hair loss...

Indeed Apart From Maintaining the Exsisting hair its also imperative for Donor grafts Which are Harvested from the Un Safe Donar hair Zone n Transplanted on the Scalp specially in FUE cases where U have to explore 5 Times Bigger Area for Same No of Grafts what U can get by FUT from a 1.5 cm Strip from the Central Safe Donor Zone

You once mentioned a single dose of fin blockades DHT for 28 days. If this is the case, why isn't one dose every 28 days effective?

Because there are new 5AR enzymes being produced all the time, if you only took it once a month then these will build up

That’s a wrong information and as Dr I’m sure my colleagues haven’t mentioned such a thing, the half life of the drug is 5.5-6.5 hrs after taking the drug pharmacologically you can’t have I more that 2 days maximally so that’s not right , and the second comment that says it’s because of daily production of 5alppha reductase is wrong too , because if it had a half life of 28days which doesn’t , in spite of daily production( which itself is true ) would block the enzyme

I've heard creatine (pre/post workout) and even ashwagandha increase testosterone/DHT, so if I'm taking finasteride to help block DHT, would it be best that I not use creatine or ashwagandha (300mg daily)?

Do you recommend taking fin before a HT. If so, for how long before the HT? Also, won't taking fin before a HT make it harder for a surgeon to differentiate between the DHT resistant follicles vs the artificially pumped up follicles?

Hey doc, can u please tell about whether to apply topical minoxidil and finestride solution on the temporal area? Are the hair on the temporal side of the scalp resistant to DHT as well?

Great video! Do you prescribe topical dutasteride (which has a heavier molecular weight and so it stays where it needs to work without the worries of topical finasteride which goes systemic)? Many thanks in advance!

@@vaishali8451 well this seems to be gathering pace with Dr's such as Dr Patrick Mwamba, Dr Jerry Wong, et all in topical form. In anecdotal evidence it appears to operate on both DHT receptors (as opposed to finasteride which blocks only one) and has a higher efficacy in preventing blocking the 5AR enzyme. Topical finasteride appears to become systemic when topically applied as it enters the blood stream due to it's lighter molecular weight. Whereas topical dutasteride has a heavier molecular weight which slows it down considerably from penetrating deeper into the blood stream. This results in topical dutasteride remaining in the hair shaft where it belongs and has a more localized effect which is a far more desirable result from a topical solution. Theoretically this should therefore increase 5ar inhibition while leading to less 5ar side effects as it doesn't enter the blood stream.

dr. jaya, do a person who may transplanted his hair for maximum graffs to cover his thinning crown, vertex, hairline and temporal still need finasteride in order to safeguard his other natives hair?

I have question, does the side effect of finasteride will ever go away ? or should i change it to once a week or even change it to saw palmetto, PSO and the natural route perhaps ? i start about August 2021 and the last idk about 2-3 week (November 2021), i became zombie, no kidding, i got a brain fog, anhedonia, sleepy and tension on head (like headache but mild and persistent), the dosage is 1.25 mg 3x a week yet i still suffer side effect that make me barely functioning, my mental not exactly stable but under finasteride it stabilized (more like i have no emotion at all) Happy to discus this :)

Hi Dr Jayaprakash. I have recently found your channel, the Hair Loss Show and what a game changer! So many of my unknowns have been answered. So grateful. One question I have, since creatine can speed up the MPB process (so I have avoided it for many years), can finasteride cancel out the these effects? Is it safe to take them together? Can you please address what is going on with Propecia. Merck has stopped production, shit down the website, and new evidence is being found about unreleased harmful findings. What does this mean for Finasteride? Has this caused you any concern prescribing it?

Hey doc. I hope you can help me out or anyone really? So i started fin April 2020. And thing got amazing and the hair was at its best state in a while. Then July 2021 i decided to stop putting minoxidil on my temples and reduce dose of fin from 4 times a week to 3. By September 2021 i had noticed the quality of my hair got worse. I got my regular brand and returned back up to 4 times a week and minoxidil once a day and about 1 week and a half in my hair started falling out. Idk if this is anything you have experienced in your practice with any patient before. Could 1 day change in frequency affect hair soo much of is fin not working anymore?

Hello , Please concern my post. I have done hair transplant from turky before 9 months. From the 5th severe hair fall started again, But my clinic advisor told me that its temporary it will stop. and hair will regrow. but it did not stop. Its been 9 months, My hairs are like just hanging When i wash them or pust fingers in them , Like everytime more than 50 hairs are in my finger, and in one day i can't even explain. please please suggest me something what should i do , my head looks again white and hairs are falling out. I started using minoxidil spray and xpecia tablet from 3rd month after transplantation. and using them untill now. like Minoxidil give me much more dandruff and i feel like minoxidil makes my hairfall so terrible. what should i do

I been on finasteride for a year at 3 times a week, I noticed decent results...nothing amazing, I recently switched to daily which is more like 5 times a week since I don't always feel like taking it, which might be why they recommend daily, but all I noticed was that I'm hornier if at all, but not less horny, and ejaculate is less thick, I do wish I took this stuff much earlier, like 10 years ago, but I first never even knew about it, then as I did there was fear mongering, but after using it, I like it...no issues

I have a question i cant seem to find an answer on. I see finasteride states not to be handled by women that are pregnant or could potentialy get pregnent and to wear a condom.. however. If my partner is on contraseption e.g the pill. Can i still habe sexual intercourse without wearing a condom?

Hell I recently started taking dutasteride about 4 months ago and ever since starting on it I have still continued to shed I was wondering how long does it take for the medication to stabilize in my body It’s really depressing waiting around for results and it seems like my hair is getting worse.

Two different compound if you dont deal with the androgen part then you can actually experience some loss, usually finasteride is to keep your hair and minoxidil is to grow bald spots or thining areas

Hi Dr, What is your opinion on using a low dosage of oral finasteride (0.5 mg three times a week) With a 0.5%/0.1% topical finasteride twice a day. Seeing as I have experienced side effects on 1mg oral three times a week, with no topical. Thanks

I read finesteride cause sex problems, difficult ejaculation, no erection,this sounds bad to me only to benefit for hair.I think every 3 months a PRP session is all one needs after hair transplant.
