Good job, Ladies! The video is from the dvd “The Rolling Stones Rock And Roll Circus”. It was filmed in December 1968 and was to be shown on tv, but the Stones never released until 1996. Also on the show were The Who, Jethro Tull, Taj Mahal, and a one time performance by The Dirty Mac (John Lennon, Eric Clapton, Keith Richards, and Mitch Mitchell who was Jimi Hendrix’s drummer). The dvd is well worth buying, you can easily find it on Amazon or at a Barnes & Noble. The dvd also has lots of extras, like the story about how this show came to be. This was Brian Jones’ last public appearance with the Stones (the blonde guitarist) and he drowned in his pool in July of 1969 at the age of 27.

You should totally check out the studio version, the addition of the choir makes it so much more epic. And RIP, Charlie Watts. Just a bummer that he wasn't shown just once throughout the whole video. Charlie was probably the most reliable and constant drummer in rock history. Much like Ringo Starr he was not really a showoff on stage or doing any extraordinary stuff, no big drum rolls or fills, just very precise and efficient drumming throughout his 58 (!) years in this band which is incredible. Sometimes you wouldn't even notice that he was there on stage, he was just the constant beat of the heart of the Rolling Stones, unimaginable that they will still go on without him now. Rest in Peace, man, and thank you for the music.

This song came out the year i was born in 1969 the studio version. Good choice of song. I have all their old stuff from 1965 through 1970. I also have ones from the 70's and 80's to present. They are still going it's sad about Charlie Watts. He was 80 one of the best drummers of all time.

Not the greatest version of this iconic song, but it is the thought that counts!! Thank you both for paying homage to a great drummer and even a better human being, Charlie Watts! The most fun song the Stones did is called "She's A Rainbow", so see what your t-shirt buyer and music screener thinks of you reacting to that one!

RIP Charlie Watts. He was the perfect drummer for the Stones..strong and steady. He had a jazz background. That's Brian Jones, the founder of the Stones, on guitar. That performance must have been a few months prior to his death. He died in July '69, and the song was recorded in late '68, and released in July '69.

I believe the type of drug store he's singing about in the song is the old fashioned little drug store with a soda fountain where you could sit on a stool or in a booth and get a soda or a milk shake or a banana split, etc. Sometimes on the old Andy Griffith show you can see one. Wish we still had them. Anyway, glad you liked the Stones. Rest in peace, Charlie.

This was from a performance called the Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus. Several other bands performed that day. But it was The Who that stole the show when they performed their song "A Quick One". Many Who fans consider The Who's performance of "A Quick One" at this gig to be their greatest live performance ever. It would be great if you two reacted to it, it is AMAZING! And with that said, RIP Charlie Watts. They don't make 'em like that anymore.

That's a great song by a band who did a LOT of very good songs! Hard not to tap your foot at least, or bob your head along with the beat. Ironically, this was one of just a few songs in the Stones vast catalogue which didn't have the great Charlie Watts playing drums. According to an account that I read, Charlie just couldn't find the very precise groove that Mick and Keith were looking for. The record's producer Jimmy Miller was an excellent drummer and sat in for Charlie and was incredible on the much more epic studio version. I assume Charlie is playing in this filmed television version, but I didn't see any identifiable shot of whoever is playing the drums in the video.

I kinda feel like his reference to 'her bleeding hands' was to describe the men she'd left heartbroken behind her, looking for her picture of an ideal man..but that while he knows the guy she's marrying won't be her 'ideal,' he may well be the person that she needs, to inspire her growth as a person.

FYI. The original version did not have Charlie Watts playing. Jimmy Miller played drums.
