My favorite rock & roll band for the last 57 years! Yes, MICK Jagger has incredibly stage-filling energy. Everyone in the audience always believes he's singing just to them. My best friend and I caught a late 80s concert that the Stones ended with this song, and when they sang it, everyone in the stadium spontaneously turned and kissed the person next to them.

I love your spirit, India, and I know you have good intentions. When you ask to show support to the Rolling Stones because you're showing them love.. it's backwards. We show the Rolling Stones love first after something like this, and you (just like I) should be thankful to revel in this performance. This is a rare thing in HUMAN HISTORY, and let's give Revelations its due. Edit: Holy F$#($in Shizzle, this is such a great recording. I've never seen this. What a catch! Thanks!

The Stones, I had never noticed, maybe cause I have decades of music in my head, that they truly can play anything, like jazz, blues rock , even classical, listen to "She's a Rainbow "! I had been seeing since Ed Sullivan show, Ed Sullivan, any body, any body?..... but my ex reminded said that , that they're that kind of fluid musicians , I started paying attention and listened to their music all over again like with new set of ears, and its true, its the key to their longevity, they play it all, try "Can You Hear Me Knocking ", starts off rocking, then that sax comes in, turns into jazz like. They have worked with some of the greatest in music like Merry Clayton, that voice, and Tina Turner, women with powerful voices, and I heard that they were blown away by Aretha when watching her from behind stage before they were to perform, and I don't know if that was at a big concert or on the Ed Sullivan show because Ed showcased everbody on his show, and I remember when she was on there as well, everyone from Aretha, to The Doors, The Temptations ", The Stones, Herb Albert & the Tijuana Brass, you should check out their tunes, they're mostly jazz he had a fantastic horn section, aka the brass😊, enjoy, my generation were exposed to so many genre of music , I may be old., but I have decades of music in my old noggin 😊✌

You need to listen to the studio version lol because mick goes crazy when its live and its different every time he sings. Now the rolling stones are gods among the rock,n roll world and they inspire so many bands ,their music is used in commercials, movies, sporting events and there is plenty of songs from other artists that mention stones and mick in their songs.

This was live, if you listen to the original you hear what they are talking about. He also changed some of the lyrics, but you can do that live, it is what makes a concert unique and fun.

Jagger Swagger!!! This performance was off the charts great, but there was an even greater performance at the Rock and Roll Circus when The Who performed "A Quick One (While He's Away). To me, that performance by The Who is probably their greatest! It's so great that The Who and The Stones are still on tour here in the Summer of 2019!! The Who is actually in the studio recording a new album. Long Live Rock!!!!

Jimi in this song is Jimi Hendrix. The Chelsea drug store where he gets the prescription filled is a London methadone clinic. The studio version of the song features the London Youth Choir, which changes the vibe a bit.

WRONG! Hutmaker was born April 18, in 1932[1] in New Germany, Minnesota [2] and moved with his family to Excelsior, Minnesota as a teenager. Despite unspecified developmental disabilities, Hutmaker had an outgoing demeanor and an engaging personality and was given the honorary title of "roving ambassador" for the city of Excelsior.[3] It was in this capacity that Hutmaker spent his days and nights wandering the streets of the city, chewing on a cigar, mumbling to himself, and greeting locals by name. Someone paid for business cards with this title for Mister Jimmy, and he carried them for the rest of his life. It is reported that he knew most Excelsior natives and their children by name, and also knew what churches they attended and their family history.[3] Local businesspeople provided for Hutmaker's needs, providing free meals and welcoming him in from the elements year round. However he was not a vagrant; he lived in his family home for most of his life, and until 2004 was cared for by his brother Ralph. After Ralph's death the burden of Jimmy's care was picked up by unrelated townspeople. He needed an escort to get out of the Excelsior nursing home he lived in, and residents of Excelsior stepped in and took him out daily. Rolling Stones legend According to a legend, it was in his capacity as town ambassador that Hutmaker attended a concert by the Rolling Stones at the Danceland Ballroom at Excelsior Amusement Park in 1964. The next day Mick Jagger was having a prescription filled at Bacon's Drugstore when he encountered Hutmaker again. Hutmaker complained to Jagger that he had ordered a Cherry Coke but received a regular Coca-Cola instead, then dismissed his own complaint, saying "You can't always get what you want."[3][4][5] Five years later, on their 1969 album Let It Bleed, the Stones released a song titled "You Can't Always Get What You Want" - and references to a drugstore, a cherry soda, a prescription, and "Mr Jimmy" (Hutmaker's nickname around town) all appear in the song. It is also told that Hutmaker just so happened to be ill, as it is said in the song. A shorter version of the song was released as the "B" side of "Honky Tonk Women" in 1969, and it was named as the 100th greatest song of all time by Rolling Stone magazine in its 2004 "500 Greatest Songs of All Time." Hutmaker's business cards had the lyrics to the song printed on their back sides.
@Dr3amtime
@Dr3amtime 3 года назад
@@mikemaricle9941 . Hm, you may be right. Here's another perspective: "Although Mick Jagger and Jimi Hendrix were good friends at the time of the song's release, the line "I sang my song to Mr. Jimmy" is a reference to Jimmy Miller who was the producer and actually plays drums on the recording. The story about Jagger meeting a drifter named Jimmy Hutmaker is apocryphal. The rest of the line says "and he said one word to me and that was dead"; at that time the Stones and Miller used "dead" to refer to something they really liked, so when Jagger sang the original song idea to Miller, his response was "dead!" rollingstones.fandom.com/wiki/You_Can%27t_Always_Get_What_You_Want. In any event, it sounds like I'm wrong about Hendrix.

About this performance, it was done after a full day (20+ hrs) shooting for the show with Mick acting as Ringmaster to all the other bands, keeping Keith sober enough and Brian Jones often collapsing in a corner sobbing. It truly was a circus. Must do "Gimme Shelter" studio version and Taj Mahal from this show.

It's rumored that the Stones wouldn't let "Rock and Roll Circus" be aired because The Who's performance outshined everybody else's. I saw "Rock and Roll Circus" on TV around 1996 and it was easy to see why The Who was tops. Try "Can't You Hear Me Knocking?" from the Rolling Stones album *Sticky Fingers*.

Legend has it that the lyrics in the second verse refer to events that occurred around a Rolling Stones concert at the Danceland Ballroom in Excelsior, MN in 1964. The town ambassador, an amiable fellow named Jimmy Hutmaker, who everybody called Mr Jimmy, had attended the concert and then was at the Bacon drugstore the next day standing next to Mick Jagger who was getting a prescription filled. Mr. Jimmy lamented about ordering a cherry coke and getting a regular coke, and then observed that "you can't always get what you want." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jimmy_Hutmaker

The Great MIck Jagger! Front man of the Rolling Stones. The Stones have been performing since 1963 to the present-2019. Mick Jagger is 75 years old, and he and the Stones are on tour as you react to this old video from when he was probably25 or 26 years old. They still are selling out large venues of 50,000 plus stadiums. Listen to the studio recording version of this song, as it is much better. The one you just reacted to, being performed for a movie-"Rock and Roll Circus." It's not even in the same league as the recorded studio version. Mick and the Stones will out live us all.
