Reminds me of one of the teachers I had in high school. My mom called the school, had them fetch me, and told me that my grandpa was dying so we needed to drive to say goodbye to him/take care of stuff for my grandma. So I needed to run to talk to my teachers about missing some days (grandparents lived quite a distance away), and the first teacher I went to, I was all shaken up and was explaining why I was going to be absent for 3 or more days (ended up being 5), and he reached, got my hand till I looked him in the eyes and stopped babbling, and told me, "Some things are more important than being here to take notes, go be there for your mom and your grandma. We can sort out your classwork and such, when you get back. Just take a deep breath, and go ahead and pack up. I'll talk to the other teachers and get everything sorted, you just take care of what's important." When you're going through hell, it's good to have someone like that. Someone who is patient, a bit firm, and makes it clear that you are right to have your priorities the way you do. Glad to see that here. Go Gray!
