I had a very similar experience with Southern Comfort in about 1977, I gubbed nearly a whole bottle & woke up the next day ( Christmas Day) with a horrendous hangover, never touched the stuff again-- I always get hangovers, even on the smallest amount. Shotgun 650 looks great , & grey is the best colour I think-- good luck with the move Will 👍 😀

Nice to see you back Willie😊 Nice feature wall too - someone's got excellent interior design skills. The Shotgun - weird isn't it? I didn't like the look of it at first either but it's definitely grown on me - especially in the grey. Big news from RE coming potentially on 27th of this month. Most people think it'll be the Gorilla 450 which from the spy shots looks like a bigger Hunter with the Sherpa engine. Some also think there might be news of the Classic 650 in a dual launch event. We'll have to wait and see. But spy shots of the Classic 650 look like it's got the long single seat vs the twin seat set up of the Classic. Maybe it'll be called the Bullet 650 instead 🤔

Great story! Booze & Brides. 🤣 Southern Comfort... I bet you and I have had our last taste of that stuff about the same time. These days a 12 pack of beer last me about two months unless I'm baking beer bread or cooking brats. My closest RE dealer is 200 miles away through the mountains. I go to their inventory site and browse. They've had a drill green Shotgun since they got their first run in. I think, well if I buy that one I definitely know what I'd name it, "Pickles." Looks like a Dill Green Pickle. Not that that's bad. I have a jar of pickles in the fridge, very refreshing on a hot day. 😃 I've been having fun on my beat up 500 Bullet just doing little runs into town or just out for a burble but parts have arrived for the T7 and its time to get busy putting on racks, and guards, and lights and handlebars (if they ever arrive) and heated grips, and a Seat Concepts seat, etc... Funny, I buy the beater 500 Bullet and all I need to do is an oil change and ride it. I have more $$$ in after market parts for T7 than I do in the Bullet at this point. Don't get me wrong, I Love the T7, its just and interesting aside. Congratulations on the move getting closer!
I agree, the grey is by far the smartest. I really don't like the half lettered / numbered stencils they put on. Smashing looking bike and I was starting to think about the interceptor myself, but the shotgun is certainly a bike to consider. Good luck with the move mate; nearly there now.
Congrats on ordering the bike! I've received my Shotgun 650 recently, drove it for 230 km already, and it only gets better. To be honest, I walked into the dealership being 100% positive that I am going for an Interceptor 650. But once I tried to hop on it in the shop, I've noticed that cheapish feeling about the hardware and switches. Shotgun 650 felt a lot better, then I tried to test ride and that was enough to fall in love. Color schemes are a mess really. Your choice is great! But I loved the green one. About the quality: for some reason the paint on the exhaust pipes near the engine started to crack and peel off on my bike. Going to visit the dealership soon to find out what they can do about it.
Congrats on getting yr Shotgun buddy! A bit disappointed to hear about the flaking paint on the exhaust though, hopefully the dealer will get it sorted 👍

1980, I was 16 years old, in Germany with the army cadets. Me & my mate bought a litre of tequila in the naffi, left the camp, wandered into town, necked the bottle, ended up in a bar with some German sailors, somehow we found the camp about 04:00 and were scooped by the military police whilst trying to climb over the fence. They locked us in the cells, copious vomiting, moaning and crying for the rest of the day whilst they tried to find someone to take responsibility for us. I still feel ill even typing the word tequila.
Congratulations, im glad its all sorted in the end. Must admit the grey looks the better of all the choices. Like yourself I'm hanging on for the clasic 650 however I came across the CFMOTO Sport 700 & the Heritage 700cc, I never thought i would swing away from the more clasic style bikes but I'm fed up with the state of the roads plus they can be used in all weather's so serious/ practical consideration to be made.

The new bike looks awesome in that colour at least you still got peeshooter exhaust and I love the fact if u have a puncture u can plug and go unlike the T120,,😀🏍️🏍️👍🏻 I may try a test ride as they do looks awesome just wondering if I’d miss the power of the 1200. Test drove and put $down on a Shotgun. Ended up buying a 12 year old RT instead. Same cost, wife loves the pillion heated seat and I can carry $120 of groceries in the cases. Congrats on the bike and digs!
Haven’t got to try out the heated seats yet . In the middle of heat wave right now. When I first got the bike 3 weeks ago I was riding home with the heated grips on. Wowser, they work great!
Well Willie shotgun and getting married reminds me of my drinking mate back in the 80’s he had a shotgun wedding a right city slicker he was think he only got me to to the night clubs to make look like he’s the best there 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Same here, Willie. Don't like bobbers or customs, but strangely taken with the Shotgun, only in grey. Tried one, very comfortable if a bit heavy, a result of all that metal no doubt. The factory exhaust looks horrible and it deserves a proper tank badge, otherwise a very nice bike. I'm guessing the Classic 650 will arrive late '24 or early '25, and surmise it will be very like the Shotgun indeed. If so, the classic touches may swing it for the retro crowd, or they'll consider it so like the Shotgun they may save a few bob on a '24 model of which there seems to be a glut. Just a guess, like I say.

it is a hunter 650 when it comes to handling in the tight city streets, the only reason for me to forgo this was the same 650cc parallel twin for whihc i am now looking at BSA golstar to have that single 650 experience
Glad to hear the house move is going ahead finally! Shotgun is let down by the colour options and speedo for me. Eagerly awaiting the classic 650, will have a choice to make between that and a 2nd hand T100 I think 🙄
Hi Willie, glad the moves happening at last. I have a Bud Ekins T100,I fairly recently test rode ( and vlogged if you want to have a look) the shotgun and super meteor. I preferred the Super Meteor, can't remember why, just a bit more traditional looking I guess. Good luck with your move. I'd keep the Triumph🤔 Ride safe Mate👍
On balance tho Willie in her drunken stupor she'd agreed to marry you! That must feel so good now that yuve exchanged! I have seen all the Shotgun variations and same as you. I'm not keen on the lacquered over stickers. The grey one close up is very nice tho. I picked up my Classic 350 today so hopefully much fun to be had in the future.
@@2wheeledwillie395 I will thanx. I did ask you if they can cut it in west Kent east Sussex area. It certainly did on the way thru the lanes between Heathfield and Tonbridge. Groombridge hill was fine which is fairly steep. I won't need much more power for what I want I already know.

I seem to remember ouzo and orangeade was my undoing, Willie; it left an awareness of having upset a lot of people the night before. The Shotgun - in your rendition - looks spot-on; the T120 is gorgeous, but your new sense of purpose makes the 650 an all-round winner.
With their colors, Royal Enfield seems to be going after the youth market, but I’m not sure that’s who the buyers are, even in India. I’ve only seen the blue and white, and need to see the gray one. BTW: the muted colors of your shirt really pop against the bright colors of your living room. 😎

I have a classic 350 which I love, tried the shotgun which I wanted to love but didn’t - it wasn’t so different. Instead I chose a nearly new Moto Guzzi V7 which I think compliments the Classic 350 perfectly. Just sayin…..
The solid grey color without the fluorescent highlights is definitely the best choice. The yellow/green highlights on the rest of the range look cheesy. RE is trying too hard to be hip. Solid colors with a nice tank badge, vintage or something else classy and leave the pin striping or other accoutrements to the owners.

You might miss the torque & talking the torque😂🤣.I'm Ummming & ahhhhing about selling Trident 🔱 660 to my friend you is keen & who has made a offer & then buying a new Speedtwin 900.Maybe you should try the T100 or Motoguzzi V7 850 much more premium & lees grunt than T120 but that doesn't really matter for Willie cause HE'LL have a new bike in 6-12months & not have the Shotgun for years & years😂🤣.

That's crazy the shotgun is more compact than the Bonneville probably for sure I wasn't going super meteor cause the extra weight and the longer wheel base decided that the interceptor was the closest thing I could get to my t100 want to motorcycle-camp on it or I'd have gotten the g.t very happy with it I'm sure you'll love it we don't have the shotgun over here I sat on the meteor and heard from reviews its smaller than it so I knew K.t wouldn't like it. 🎉 congratulations on your new place.
Good luck with the move and good luck with the Shotgun-I like it. The delays re the move may have been a blessing in disguise given how rubbish the weather has been of late. As to the dodgy marriage, reminds me of my brother who ( many moons ago) became "betrothed" to this psycho bird-bought the ring, even bought her a moped! Comes the impending marriage, he gets cold feet but can't figure out how to tell her. My brotherly advice? Repossess the moped! Well, she leaves it outside where she works-a hospital kitchen (with lots of big knives)-we grab the moped, but it fails to start. The sight of my brother pushing the thing with her and her workmates chasing after him screaming abuse will live with me to the grave. Sadly, she kept the ring-sold it back to the jeweller's was the word around town. Cheers, Al.
Ohhh, my head - Southern Comfort is sooo smooth, subtle, and seductive. Finished most of a bottle while on leave from the Army. Young and dumb. Didn’t get married, but OMG was I sick the next day-plus. I think I met Jesus. I love that Shotgun. A bit heavy for me now, but I’m betting you’ll have a terrific time with it. Moving is/can be right stressful! All the Best with it. Getting the new place set up is the fun part!!

You do make me laugh though and I'll keep watching to see how long it takes for you to fall in love with the next bike 🤣🤣🤣
Like you said beauty is in the eyes of the beholder and its obvious you like blacked out bikes. Personally i don't . I'm a sucker for bikes with twin clock's and stainless or chrome exhausts. @2wheeledwillie395 I like the drill green, but also dislike the yellow. I have 2 Harley-Davidson Fatboys, a RE Himalayan, and my Triumph T120. My go to bikes are the Triumph and the Himalayan. I have some hilly 2 lane highways near home that I can't resist playing Rollercoaster on with my T120. Not the thing I should be doing at 60 years old,,but,,it's impossible to resist
I cane home one Christmas holiday afternoon a bit worse for wear, , having arranged to meet up again in the evening. My lady put me to bed, anyway I woke up, remembered my promise to my mates, dressed amd went down stairs. My wife looks at me dissaprovingly. Where are you going?
