Test rode one at a demo event here in Mesa, AZ and fell in love. To me, it's what I was expecting the Super Meteor to be - almost identical ergonomics and appearance as the Meteor 350, but with more oomph. Now, if RE would just ship some to Arizona already! None of the dealers in the state have any yet.
I sat on a couple of them at Engle the other day. It's exactly what I'd hoped it would be. Although I think the gunmetal Grey and drill green colors were big letdowns, the Grey is definitely blue and the green is a soupy grayish green. Even so, absolutely great looking bike and the ergonomics are perfect for me.
I have ogled the SG for months and demo ridden it three times. Just love the thing, especially in the grey. Thanks for pointing out the details and doing the night ride. Subscribed and Liked.😊
That's a nice looking bike and really happy to hear that RE have made improvents to the rear suspension. They were harsh and really off- putting for my Super Meteor test ride. Must go and try that again after my surgery. Thanks for the review, for my riding i'd lift the beam a little to better catch the roos at the side of the road but other wise it looks like a pretty effective beam.
I'm think'n RE let the original Super Meteor's out with rear shocks set on softest setting. This made larger bumps seem harsh. After I adjusted my Super Meteor rear shocks the ride was better. Even better after I installed YSS shocks on the rear. Love this new Shotgun. Wahoo!
Great video!! Gives me a lot of thought on which 650 I'm leaning towards in the future. I think that a Super Meteor 650 would be a good bike for long distance. I wish I was there at Marne for the 350 ride. I will be there after my 3000 mile service. ✌️
It has appeal. I owned an INT 650 which was mechanically excellent but the position was uncomfortable, I sold it for that reason. This looks more like the Classic, which fits me very well.
That's a nice looking bike. I like the front head light. Was that dinosaur skeleton in the background going to the bathroom or did it just look like that? Seems like someone made it to look like a dog taking a number 2.
I do not know the answer to that. However, contact Jeremy at baxtercycle.com He should be able to help you out with information on this. Good guy. Always willing to help.
I think the gray is the best color, and those bags look right, but I can’t see how they’re mounted. The shotgun doesn’t seem to have the same mounting points as the super meteor.
Got a whopper back brake on it great for blipping the throttle on the downshifts especially with a pipe on it cause you use the back brake more riding like that.I would put Halcyon adjustable mirrors on them so can have them in any position.
I would of chosen the Shotgun I reckon if out when I got the Interceptor which I had to upgrade seat, forks. For me Shotgun over Super Meteor only cause of my bad back but test riding back to back be the best way to decide.
Why RE used a smaller tank than say the Himalayan's makes no sense to me. The look is eye appealing, but I personally could not ride it with my bad back. That forward lean is too much for me and the additional 100 pounds. Gorgeous looking bike, Fuzzy. A side by side with the Super Meteor would give a better visual how the Shotgun is different from the Super Meteor.
Just so people know having pannier racks connected to the top of your suspension carries risks. This video link will show you how to lessen the risks on a Super Metero and possibly a shot gun ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5ALwiKXdZQ4.html
_I don't know if the SHOTGUN is the best_ 𝙍𝙤𝙮𝙖𝙡 𝙀𝙣𝙛𝙞𝙚𝙡𝙙 _..but it's the most beautiful. I like it best in grey._ _Often something is beautiful precisely because it is simple._
