Thanks for this review, these are the exact two harnesses I was looking at purchasing. You pointed out a lot of features and even some specific concerns I am attempting to solve. I have a puller, who has escaped from quite a few different harnesses. And since he's a GreatDane Bull with short hair, you helped me decide which to purchase. :-)

@@DiamondDogTraining Because of the great info in your videos, we just bought a Flagline. So, personally, I’d love to see a video specifically about fitting a Flagline. (Although I’m sure many people use harnesses with just one bottom strap.) We’ve had a difficult time finding a suitable harness for our dog’s shape, and have tried several. It would be good to know the most important “dos” and “don’ts” about fitting harnesses in general.

I have a similar Ruffwear Harness for my two year old St Bernard. She does very well with it, had trouble with other harnesses slipping when she moved. The front loop is very strong and does hold up even without a metal loop.

Better fitting video than the one from Blue-9 for my dog. Their demo dog was super fluffy so it was a bit less helpful for me with you and your lovely little assistant Nikki! We went with the Blue 9 since we have pretty intense seasonal changes here and it seemed more comfortable to put under her winter coat when it gets cooler. I love the look of that flag line if we ever do things together that a body handle and second strap would be nice. Thank you for the good info!

10 months ago saw this vid and went with the Flagline for my anxious nervous shy fearful 11 month 52 lbs adopted shelter pup. Couldn’t be happier with both. He walks with confidence and no chafing, (he used to be a puller)! The harness is strong but lightweight and thin padding. TY for this video, it was instrumental in my decision. *Harness holds up great in holding the New England weather.

As someone who uses ruffwear and highly recommends them. The front clip is extremely strong I have worked it on an extremely strong mastiff with a pulling issue.

You mentioned a preference for the Ruffwear harness because of the additional padding, particular for a short hair dog, with the thought that it might be more comfortable for the dog. In warm/humid climates or just summer walks, I was wondering if the extra padding might make the dog more uncomfortable because it traps additional body heat and maybe even cause some chafing. It sounds like either harness is highly recommend but wondered about the the down side of the additional padding. Also, the non-metal loop in the front of the Rufferwear harness would concern me as well since the front clip is the really the main one you use for anti pulling training.

Hi Randy, Thank you for your questions. Yes, both harness are very good. The Flagline Harness is very soft and lightweight. My dogs have always been comfortable walking in hot weather. The Ruff Wear Webmaster is a heavier material which is why people switch to the Flagline Harness in the summer. Compared to the Blue -9 Balance , the Flagline certainly has more material . I like the comfort and safety of my dog not being able to escape out of the harness. i also like the handle which lets me pick my dog up if necessary. The front loop was a concern for me. i researched their site and found the loop is reinforced. This is their quote. " two reinforced webbing loops." Both harness are very good whichever you choose. Such a sweet dog! Is she a whippet? I've been using the flagline for well over a year and the front loop is extremely durable and strong and shows no signs of wearing down. And my Maisey can be a strong puller. Giving the Blue9 a try for something lighter. It shifts a lot and slides up to her armpits, she doesn't have much fur either. I think I need to put it way back on her long rib cage to prevent that. Not sure I'm going to keep it. Love the flagline.

Hi Cheryl, she is an Italian Greyhound. Thank you. I love the Flagline harness. When I use the Blue-9 Balance Harness, I have to tighten the straps to keep the harness from sliding. I really like the Blue-9 for dogs that have more hair to hold the harness. Thank you . Joyce

Thank you for the recommendations. Our IGis a male, who sometimes pees on his chest( when he doesn’t lift his leg), so I’m not sure if the Ruffwear will last. But we’re desperate to walk him. He had great muscles on his shoulders, front and back legs last year, and we want to get him back in shape this Spring. Could you please tell us the size of your Ruffwear harness? Thank you again.

Hi Joyce. I just ordered an X-small Flagline for Kai(his chest is only 17' now), with your paid link. After watching a few of your nice detailed videos, it seems this is the best one! He runs and gets pulled by the collar & leash often when running in the grass energetically. Going to teach no pull with the harness indoor first. Thanks!

@@DiamondDogTraining It fits very well and had enough pad area & straps to ease my worry of choking the puppy. Although the leash still tangles him sometimes (I attached to the back D ring, he is just too excited running on grass). I especially like the handle. He easily starts biting the furthest straps while wearing it indoors. I guess this is something eventually he stops and gets used to the harness? Thanks

I bought the Blue-9 for my Australian Shepherd. She has lots of hair and is a strong puller. I am hoping she will not pull me.

Hi Judith, using the double ended leash will help pulling. Also check out my videos on teaching a dog to walk on a leash without pulling. Training is the most important thing no matter what harness you use. Thank you for your comment. Joyce

I just watched your comparison between the Easy Walk and the Freedom harness... I prefer these others because of the chest strap, but I still have a cuestion ¿what's the difference between these two and the harnesses that promotes pulling?
