Did Anyone notice the parallels to the ethnic Characters from Superfriends. Longshadow was a Native American with growing like powers (Apache Chief), Static was Black Vulcan (who was in turn a stand in for Black Lightling), and Ed Dorado was clearly El Dorado, the Japanese girl with wind like powers was a gender swap for Super Samurai.
its because they are all modern versions of them - Longshadow 1st appeared in Justice League Unlimited and had the ability to grow like Apache Chief but bigger - Static is inspired from Black Lightning - and etc..so you are correct - I thought that I was the only person that noticed that
I liked the run aways but I was disappointed in Virgil since I'm a fan of the 2000-2004 cartoon Static Shock and I much preferred his backstory in that show. Though I did enjoy his design and the other run aways
I am surprised this is how they tried to reintroduced static. But the thing is i loved the idea of how his original story was. The only thing wrong with it was it was not dark enough like it could have been.
Seeing as the job was to connect a device to a Reach beacon, it makes sense to pair a newbie who still has good teleportation powers but might be overwhelmed in the moment with a tank like Captain Atom, who can draw fire and give a distraction, as well as some encouragement to Eduardo
Can Tye Longshadow use his powers with his eyes open or do they need to be closed? I just wonder how he knows what he’s doing if he has his eyes closed ; and I think he’s pretty COOL being an Indian and having super powers
