👉 Luang Prabang is a city of Luang Prabang Province, situated in the northern part of Laos, surrounded by mountains and confluence of the Khan River (Mae Nam Khan) and the Mekong River (Mae Nam Kong).
This Laos's preserved historic town has been accredited by UNESCO as a world heritage site since 1995.
In this video, we were walking to show you the alms-giving ceremony or called - Tak Bat or Sai Bat (in Lao language). This spiritual practice is sacred and meaningful between the monks and the givers.
This ceremony starts in early mist morning around 5.30am throughout the town of Luang Prabang. We witnessed this in the popular routes in the city center by Sene Temple (Wat Sene) along the Sakkaline Road.
When you visit Luang Prabang and would like to participate in this act, the locals can help to arrange an offering set basket contains sticky rice, fruits, food, and sweets etc... with a small charge for the service. You can easily walk to the Sakkaline raod many of them set up small tables accross the street, they will approach you or you can just ask them - they would be very delightful to assist with this preparation.
