You often talk about Aromatic Fougere/"Barbershop" fragrances on your chanel, but there are so many on the market and it's difficult to visualize the intricate differences between each fragrance house's take on the genre. Could you possibly make a video in the future doing a breakdown of your favorite barbershop fragrances explaining the pros and cons of each? Something like a barbershop fragrance buying guide?
That's a good one. I have a fairly decent 30 fragrance collection that I want to narrow down to just 10/10s and I actually don't have a barbershop fragrance. Looking to try Satorial soon.
I would never blind buy any expensive niche fragrances. The thing is, a lot of niche fragrances might be very easy to like and there is not a high risk that I'm going to hate them after a blind buy, but for me the criteria for buying a niche fragrance is not that i like it, because there are countless much cheaper designer fragrances that I like a lot as well. If I spend niche money, I have to absolutely love the fragrance. And no amount of good reviews and good ratings can guarantee that I will love a fragrance and not just like it.
I fell in love with Panda 2017. It doesn't even have that good a rating but at the end of the day, it's too crowd pleasing for the niche market. The type of people buying Zoologist are generally seeking unwearable fragrances
They have to perform for me to spend that much $ on them. Tbh the designers are costing alot these days. I heard Roja elysium does perform which is sad cause that price tag aint no joke.
Blind buy so many of my husbands fragrances. Hermes Eau de Citron, Kayali Velvet Santal, Jazz Club, Prada Luna Black, Goldfield & Banks Bohemian Lime, Dior Homme 2020 etc and I’ve loved them all. Wish I found this channel earlier - thanks for all your great reviews ❤

MB Individuel is over rated and synthetic. Prada Luna Rossa is my every day scent. If you want something more fruity, Sunnamusk Abid Ambre is stunning. Mauboussin Discovery is a really good aventus style fragrance and the house is good in general
@@laugegroth-hansen2538 I've seen a lot of reviewers whose opinions I respect recommend it. There's something like plastic hairspray in there that stops me enjoying it. I love Joop Homme which it's often compared to. And my favourite in that segment is Bench Urban Original 2.
I blind bought Perseus by PDM, Side Effect by Initio and not regret a single quid. Smelled Oud Maracuja in Selfridges once and the SA saw the reaction on my face and knew that I loved it. I’m planning to blind buy Paragon by Initio or God of Fire by Stephane Humbert Luca I feel like that’s an easy love at first sniff.
Blind bought YSL Bleu electrique 60ml last month. Really REALLY happy I got it, smells amazing, got plenty of compliments and lasts up to 14 hours on me!! Hopefully I will be able to buy a 100ml in a few years.

Absolutely I agree with you and your review! Of course I blind bought a fragrance but after being really well informed. One of them (really a few ones) was Naxos of Xerjoff, and it works amazing on my skin.
My wife blind bought me Montale Wood and Spices after i mentioned months ago that i wanted it eventually. I am enjoying the fragrance and knew it was my kind of scent.
Not bad. I blind bought some ATH fragrances. Frankly, the 10ml are great for this. Some real winners with Red fever, Homme, Hard Candy and Kxxt for me. Might go for Tabac next for the winter time. Going to see if any of those brands you mentioned have a discovery set
Some fragrance houses offer a voucher for the next purchase when samples are bought, Byredo and Frederic Malle do this. I bought a box of Byredo samples and was given a voucher for £45 off a 50 or 100ml bottle. Malle do three samples for £15 and this can be taken off the next full size purchase too. My first blind buy was Portrait of a Lady, really could not smell it at all when I tried it in winter, now I am starting to like it, think the warm weather is making a difference. I've tried a sample pack of the Maison Margiela fragrances and did not like any except for Jazz Club, but a little bit too masculine for me.

There are too many "safe" options that I absolutely despise 😂I stopped blind buying fragrances in general. I did it twice (with designer fragrances though) and I did not like them. I tested most popular niche fragrances a lot of them were disappointing. Especially at these prices you want something that you really like.
I think my "safest" blind buy was Xerjoff's Naxos, which I feel is a beautiful scent, and my "risky" blind buy was Creed's Original Santal, which I also love, and wear as a signature, even in the Summer. Honestly, I think if you are fortunate enough to have already tried a variety of fragrance DNAs, blind-buying bottles based off of note-breakdowns can be pretty reliable. As was mentioned in the video, though, you should be responsible for your own finances, and if spending $200+ on a fragrance (or, really anything, for that matter) is going to cause any sort of hardship, it's probably best to save your money until you're sure you're going to be happy with the purchase.
NGL i blind bought everything except for DHI in the duty free. Had a few decants once end up just buying whatever i fancy. Usual cost barrier, have my sights on an Amouage collection (one day)

Omar, i have a decant of Angels share, and i think it stinks. I would never buy this fragrance to be honest. Don’t know why it is so hyped, and i think it is more feminine. Like your videos btw, great work.
Im looking for a classic masculine modern scent. I've smelt this type of smell on others a few times and really like it, but from all my fragrance sampling in stores and purchases I've not found the exact profile I'm looking for. Scents like Kouros are way too old school. And Dior Eau Savage and Egoiste are closer to what I am looking for, but are still slightly too old school. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions? Thanks

I know there are no similarities between both , but currently, I can pick up only one . I have smelled both , I like both , but I am still confused to choose :) My appreciation in advance
Penhaligon's is overrated.However with the experience gained no niche fragrance or less should be bought if first it was not tried on itsown skin a few days.
Only blind buy regret I have is Xerjoff Erba Pura, the synthetic musk note is way too overwhelming to handle, it was unfortunately my first introduction to the house
@@SchoolOfScent I’ll try it out, a fragrance I recommend to you is Narco Oasis by Narcotica, it gives off that fruity side like erba pura without the harsh synthetic note and it has passionfruit!
Hi Omar! Quick question, hope you can answer. I am a very big fan of CH Men Prive, now discontinued. I hear a lot of good comments about Jazz Club, including both are similar. Unfortunately I cant test Jazz Club. I can get one or another at the same price right now. Have you tried CH Men Prive? Is Jazz Club similar? If you have to pick one, wich one would you choose? Personally, if I were to recommend a blind buy of any Maison Margela scent, it wouldn't be Jazz Club. I like it but it doesn't have a soft projection to me. To me, the tobacco and pepper notes combine to make a pretty strong in your face scent. I think Autumn Vibes or From the Garden make a better blind buy from the Replica line.
I went in with high hopes from all the great reviews that fragrance has and was utterly disappointed. Recommend trying it first. To my nose it's too synthetic. But don't be discouraged completely, many people seem to love it.
