Good luck! I am new to CNC and I am still working on what software to use. This is way different from a laser or something like that.

Turn the phillips head screw the other way and it won't dig into your plate like other end does. The end furthest from the workpiece should be just slightly higher for maximum holding power.

What are you using to build your paths? I’m just getting set up with vcarve and it doesn’t have the 3030 as a machine you can add, just the 3020.

I had so much trouble with that. I tried many programs and websites and ended up on FreeCAD. But, learning a new CAD software is not easy. I am an engineer and use SolidWorks. I used FreeCAD and was able to make signs, but it can only do 2.5 axis of CNC which means no carving. So I am using SolidWorks now learning the CAM feature. It has not been an easy road. Basically you want to use the GRBL function I think. I also recommend joining the facebook group for the 3030. Those guys have helped me a lot. Fusion360 is also supposedly free and can do it. I forgot, I did try Easel (online) and just picked another Genmitsu router. They didn't have the 3030 either. I think I used the 4040. I have not tried VCarve.

@@BAILEYWOODWORKS I got it working in vcarve. Just told it the 3030 was 12x12 inches and good to go.

any updates on this machine after a bit of use? Have you tried brass or aluminum? thanks

I have tried aluminum. It works well. I did not have the bed level and i tried to fill in the aluminum with black resin, but it didnt cut even, so it wasnt usable. But, I have not learned enough of how to do rough cutting and finish cutting. I am learning slow, but there is a lot of machining knowledge needed for these machines and I am fighting for time to learn more. When I get further I will make another video. Thanks for asking!

What is the use of the tube ? It seems connected to nothing ?? Thanks !

I agree. They could never give me a good answer. They said it is to blow the cuttings away, but there is no compressor or other air tube. So I think you would set up a regulator and tank from shop air to feed that tube?
