this has been my favorite christmas movie since i was like seven. i have to watch it every year. so many people say how awful and cheesy it is, but i just think it has a special little magic to it. maybe it's just my nostalgia but it's always been and always will be special to me each christmas

I believe the elves planned santa's death. They seem so blase about it. Even happy. Perhaps they somehow knew Scott would be a good/better Santa. Or they just were tired of the old santa. Lol. It just seems odd that they'd brush off the old santa's death. Look up this theory online. It really makes sense.

Thank you for mentioning the Career Day thing! It was in every show and movie I saw growing up, and it NEVER happened at ANY of my schools. I was 10 when this came out, its still my favorite, and Bernard is the greatest thing ever in life. 🥰 Also I either wanted to join the NOPD/E.L.F.S. or help the girl in charge of the hot cocoa. 😊

This series of movies is one I must watch every Christmas. Loved it! I was also one years old when this one came out. And I have always said Neil is the problem. You can see Laura struggling with this decison, and not sure if it's the right thing to do, and Neil taking over and pushing Scott out. You got almost all my favorites parts, just missing the part where Barnard disappers and Neil runs off looking for him. Great commentary, and wait to see what movies are next! Fun fact though. There is gonna be a show called “The Santa Clauses” and it’ll come to Disney+ on November 16th 2022!! Tim Allen and Elizabeth Mitchell are returning! You’d have to watch The Santa Clause 2 & 3 though. I’m pretty excited about the show!! Not 100% sure if Charlie, Benard, or Lucy will be back but it could be a surprise.

This movie came out 14 days before I was born. But it is one of my favorite Christmas movies, especially due to my crush on Bernard.

The way every person in a position of authority immediately thinks his kid believing his dad is Santa like it’s some kind of psychological problem is so weird he isn’t even out of elementary school are they going to call child services on any dad that dresses like Santa? Like it’s clearly a kid being stubborn and they’re acting like Scott demanded Charlie only call him Santa now! Not to mention he clearly developed a health problem that his doctor would have records of. Imagine if they made a law saying mall Santa’s aren’t allowed to have kids because the kid might call them Santa.

I was 6 when this came out. This is one of my favorite Christmas films. I watch it every year. I actually find certain scenes to be so beautiful and emotional like the scenes involving the snow globe or Charlie's parents finally getting their childhood gifts. I love the way magic is portrayed in the film as well as the fantastically designed Santa's Workshop and elf costumes. The Michael Convertino score is also beautiful.

Classic never gets old

I was 7 when this came out and it’s still one of my absolute favorite Christmas movies. I love the entire series, but the first is my favorite.

As a kid I rooted for Scott. As an adult, I 100% agree with Neil and Laura’s concerns. We know Scott is Santa because we’re watching the movie. But irl, their actions and concerns are legitimate. They aren’t evil, they’re good parents. I mean, they’re Charlie’s preferred parents at the beginning of the film. It only changes because Scott is Santa and pays him some attention. Scott never objectively becomes a good parent in any of all 3 movies. He’s a fun character for sure, but not a particularly good father or person in general. Regardless, this magical movie is still in my top 3 favorite Christmas movie list of all time. I also think the theory that the elves had something to do with the previous Santa’s demise is fun and believable. You see them around Scott in the movie before Santa falls to his death. 👀 also, what did they do with the previous Mrs. Claus??? I want answers dammit!

One of my favorite modern Christmas movies! I was 14 when this came out my dad and I would watch it every year it came on. My mom and I would watch White Christmas with Bing Crosby and Danny Kay.

As a kid, and even now, I had a huuuuge crush on Jack Frost in the third film. XD now I'm a huge fan of Martin Short who played him. He's absolutely hilarious. A fantastic comedian.

I never imagined i would saw Buzz Lightyear as Santa... and a divorce man O-O Geez that movie surprised me still to this day! I love the elves, they are so cute! The sparkles on thier cheeks is pretty and their clothes are colorful, looks really confy too! They got cute pointy ears as well, are charming and full of energy; they are competent, kind, determinated and brave. Theses kids are awesome :D Judy is my favorite, Bernard is great too!

One of the few times in my life that I had a ½ hour long night terror (I was looking at a da*ned clock), when I finally got up, I had spent that time with that horrific sensation of dread and evil. So I put on this movie and the sequel. I needed to feel that hit of joy and silly that fun holiday movies have. There was also the option of Christian holiday movies (usually black and white or old technicolor) but there's a level of unpleasantness usually in them. Like someone is dying. Denny's Turkey Club sandwich is a great thing though, it's the triple decker sandwich.

I used to watch this on a VHS tape. I believe my parents still have it in their basement. I used to watch Tim Allen on "Home Improvement" back then, so I thought this was good too.

This is probably my second-favorite Christmas movie where Santa fucking dies. Also, after rewatching this movie one of my favorite jokes was probably the ladder joke; I don't care who you are, that's a smart-ass joke.

Curious to share: what’s your favorite Christmas gift? I’ll go first. When I was four, I got a teddy bear named Trevor Teddy. He’s tan with a light grey sweater and a Christmas tree on it. My great aunt gave him to me and I loved that bear so much; I’d cuddle with it every night in December. It was also the last gift I got from my great aunt before she passed (she lived for ten more years after that but her Alzheimer’s developed fast and she didn’t put thought into gifts anymore). When I was 11, I took a Christmas trip driving with my family and we stopped in NC at a hotel and I lost Trevor Teddy (some maid stole him). I was devastated. For ten years, my family tried to replace him with other bears but it wasn’t the same and I was heartbroken. Then, ten years later, Christmas comes and there’s a gift under the tree in wrapping paper I didn’t recognize labeled ‘To Alyssa From Santa’ in handwriting I didn’t recognize; it was Trevor Teddy. I burst into tears at my childhood toy back again. Turns out my father spent the last ten years tracking down that old vintage bear and went through the effort of borrowing our neighbor’s wrapping paper and having a coworker write the tag to make me believe it was Santa. 21 years old that day and I was hugging that bear like I was four again, believing in the magic of Christmas. Today, I’m 31 and I still have that bear, and keep it near and dear to my heart. Without a doubt, the best gift I ever got. Comment below if you have a favorite gift from past Christmases.
