I so admire you and Randy's connection. Reminds me of my man and I! Katina, you're a rockstar and a badass. Keep kicking butt, love. Always diggin' your videos and energy! Much love!✌️🙂
I'm late to the party, but I'm so happy you finally tried Filipino food (am a Filipino and a long-time Kilo Crew!) Pro-tip the next time you take on challenges like this, eat the adobo or the lumpia with the rice :) usually our food are extremely flavorful, and eating them with rice will distribute those flavors onto the rice. Some of us also wants to put the sauce on the rice to give it some more flavor :D
the way you eat your food has absolutely nothing to do with its flavor. You eat the way you do because that is your culture. You eat rice as a kid and in the manner you describe. So the foreigner is not going to need to as you do. Because Rice is primary eaten by Filipinos because of poverty. It has nothing to do with the flavor of the dish. Because be informed, the dish of other cultures are more flavorful than the adobo.
@@helloitsmemissjane wag mo pansinin yan. May issues yan e. 🙄Tinignan ko content tsaka based sa old comments, parati ko nakikita yan nagsasabi ng mga hot takes niya.
if you didnt know, I actually just learned this, but depending on where youre from in the phillipines each dish is cooked a tad bit different which I think is very interesting
My Filipina wife makes the absolute best lumpia! She spends 3-4 hours to cut, chop and roll all the ingredients in just 25 lumpia. I could tell from just looking at it that the lumpia you ate was perfectly rolled, machine-made, store-brought lumpia, not hand-made with TLC. Yes, I understand that restaurants can't hand-make their lumpia because there just isn't enough hours in the day to do so. Before meeting my wife, I thought the spring rolls and egg rolls in restaurants were awesome, then I tasted the "real stuff" she made! My wife now says that I complain about the spring/egg rolls every time I eat out at an Asian restaurant (she has truly spoiled me). I recommend you visit a Filipina friend who hand-makes her lumpia from scratch to get the real taste of the Philippines. Or, if you ever come to the Seattle area, I invite you and Randy to come and taste the best lumpia in the world!
Correction, Frank. Your wife makes the second best lumpia. Mine makes THE best. 😉 If you have the means, I highly suggest trying them with a 70/30 mix of ground venison and pork.
@@whitebeardInn I'm sure your wife's lumpia is amazing. Everyone makes it a little different. I don't know where Katina is getting dry lumpia, but it must not be fresh lumpia.
Lumpia is not really a big deal. its just some food served by caterers because it is cheap to make and it will the plate. People dont really crave for that. Its sad much of the food items featured are not food that Filipinos would care to cook for a party.
Aww! I love Randy. He seems like the perfect boyfriend. You two were made for each other. Even though I am battling a stomach bug, I want to see how far I get before I have to lay down. Good job, Katina.
Enjoy watching you do all these challenges. Keep it up! Also very cool to see you do a Filipino one. Just maybe tweak the pronunciation of some of the words like Tagalog & Pancit 😁
A co-worker of mine, many years ago, was dating a woman from the Philippines, ( he and I are Canadian), he used to visit there often, and said Filipino women are among the most beautiful women he has ever seen.
I just love watching this, brought back wonderful memories of when I was able to work, and one of the nurses would bring in the homemade rice noodles & spring rolls...😋 Mmmm! Well done, Katina!!! 🌼
Man! Those "lumpiang shanghai" are huge! They normally are just about 2-3 inches long and about 1/2 - 3/4 of an inch thick. That's the center of any Filipino food spread!
I love how you are so reasonably referential when speaking about other countries and cultures. It’s like a triple cherry on top along with your bright positivity and general respect to everyone. I feel so light and lovely when watching you. I can only wish all that you give is returned 😊😘⭐️ love and light ❤️
Katina again I was able to live vicariously thru you I love oriental food and your descriptions are just priceless. I assure you Randy will never turn down your garlic kiss great video
Awesome that the occasion did finally a"rice" for you to do a Filipino food challenge. Food looked all kinds of tasty that you pert near gar"lic"ed the plate clean. 😛. You did have a minor hic up when confusing the two "non Ketchup" dipping sauces, otherwise, you killed it ;-). Rock on . Katina. Peace out, Chad 🙂
Filipino food is a hidden treasure and People who have never tried Filipino food is missing out so much. Most of the time, foreigners don't considered Filipino food specially if Thai and Malaysian food is more popular.
I haven’t had any pancit, lumpia or chicken adobo in decades. While I was serving in the Navy onboard ships out of San Diego, we’d always stop in Subis Bay, Philippines on our way to and from wherever we were to be. While import Subic, I’d always head out in town and have a plate full of pancit, and lumpia. It was SOOO good. Chicken adobo (and pork adobo) was cooked onboard ship fairly regularly but the others weren’t so I just stuck with pancit and lumpia. On one deployment we were stuck in port Subic due to a breakdown of some machinery and ended up in the yards for repairs. While there, some of my shipmates and I would sneak off the ship around 0900 and head over to the cafeteria on the yards side (we weren’t allowed over there! LOL) and for about a $1.00, we’d buy a plate full of scrambled eggs and shrimp fried rice with a 32oz bottle of Pepsi. Man, telling this story is bringing back some awesome memories of my Navy days. We moved away from San Diego some 20 + years ago and haven’t had any Filipino food since we left and are now living north of Dallas. So after watching this fun video, I HAVE to find a Filipino restaurant around here in North Texas somewhere. I’m needing some of this food!!!! Thanks for posting this video!
When she said "Carbs" I felt guilty 😆. I eat a bowl of rice for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and then sometimes when I'm craving for some snacks, I eat sticky rice dessert. I love rice so much that my rice belly is sticking out.
Wooow😮 👍🏻YeAh!!! Filipino 🇵🇭 food is D'best and Super Delicious!!! Thanks for sharing your experience ❤ New Filipino Supporter friend sending you my full support and love godbless you ❤❤❤
I used to live on a street in the 80's where we would have "block parties" and everyone would sell stuff on their driveways. Usually it was a bunch of garage sales. However, we also had a Filipino family that would sell homemade lumpia. It was so AMAZING, and I prefer them to any eggroll, hands down.
Miss when she did random mukbangs in her car and apartment. Now her content is just like Randy’s, even advertising for him with his banner in the background
Yeah I kept finding my eye go towards the big sign behind her and wondering that's not subtle at all a big sign like that and no mention of her? It just felt weird.
I will be slowly trying to phase back in some cheat days here soon! Bear with me while I get caught up on editing and such. Also, Randy's banner is for the folks in the restaurant that don't know who he is or why he is there (and was made before we met!), I am not "intentionally" placing it in my videos - it just sort of happens to be in the background. Thank you for your kind feedback, though!
Katina reppin' that Vegeta shirt! Love it. Though, Goku may have been more appropriate. He is basically the universe's undefeated eater! Someone get her one of Goku devouring food bowls in DBZ!
I never had Flippno food is it delicious l really enjoy watching yours and Randy's food challenges on the RU-vid channel God bless you all l am very happy you both got married ❤❤❤😊😊😊 from your friend always Sharon Curry from Decatur Illinois 😊

Thank you for appreciating our food. But you should come to the Philippines and take a true challenge involving an entire Lechon, Sisig, and Dinuguan with a ton of Biko and San Miguel beer.... and Balut for dessert :D
