Thank you for such an enlighting conversation. Suicide is a taboo topic which has not been given much light in contemporary discourse. For me, it is paramount to engage in these discussions because life is not always fun and rosy. Consequently, suffering and misery bring meaning and joy in life - there is beauty in the bleeding, at least you feel something.

I read that book several times in the 90s, absolutely loved it. Nice to see it's cover turn up on my feed here! Afterwards i read Night by Alvarez, unfortunately nowhere near as good.

Interesting! A book I would recommend that touches on a similar topic is Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Mortality and its Timings: When is Death? By Shane McCorristine.
