@Camaniii He did have his own show It called static shock .. I don't know the opening theme called but I only remember the part "superhero static shock"
Elijah McLeod Richie is the one who’s gay I don’t think anyone would really need to correct the source material. Tbh it’s as good as time as any to do do a show following the comics.
Dude, literally just seeing and hearing him on screen makes me happy. I love DC but oh my god are they missing out on the huge potential for this character.
I know seeing him on screen after years made me happy too. But the second thing was literally my complaint throughout the entire viewing of season 3. I was like: "When's Static gonna do something awesome?!" 😁 "I can't wait to see what Static does in this season now that he's part of the team" 😆 "Oh, he's a part of the outsiders now, surely he's gonna do something awesome on the NEW hero team being formed!" 🤩 But instead I'm just like: "Poor Virgil" 😕
I just want to point out how Virgil refers to both his parents being at home meaning his mother isn’t dead in this series. That one episode in Static Shock 😢
@@princewya i think it was more to make the fact he was about to join a gang when his mother died to gang violance all the more potent as well as give him a solid foundation for why he changed his path when he got hisnpower unlike most people that mutated.
@@jorgegfigueroa9755 I think they meant another show besides the DCAU. This is his only other appearance on television outside of it, and he's watered down here. Thankfully, I heard a live action film is being made, and Michael B. Jordan is on board.
I am a Spider-Man fan and I do agree that Static is like the closest thing in terms of charisma to Spidey.... Street level hero that's actually a powerhouse in terms of power but holds back??? Lots of collaborations with veteran heroes???? Intelligent and quips a lot to bad guys??? RESPONSIBILITY??? I'm surprised he hasn't met Spidey in a DC + Marvel crossover comic. Like that one time Spidey met Batman
Right!!! I feel like this static shock in this show is always angry and mad all the time I’m not really feeling this one but I’m happy they atleast starting to show him again tho
@@zaireturner77 not really season 2 he was angry at the aliens that abducted him but was the moral one of the team and trying to move his comrades Season 3 static was like his series self goofy and chilled
I love this design of Virgil, and after watching these scenes this is a great injustice to the character on not receiving another series to Static Shock. I want to see him and his friends like Ritchie or Timezone on more adventures, perhaps meet Superman and Batman again in his own rebooted series.
Michael Rhett Not really, considering how he hasn’t made a comic book appearance for DC in 8 years. He was scrapped from Injustice 2, barred from use in the recent Young Justice comic written by Brian Michael Bendis, and his creators were in a dispute with Dwayne McDuffie’s wife about launching Earth-M (Milestone’s comic book universe) without her consent
@sjoutsider Yeah, this static seem extremely weak compare to the old series 1. From what I'm seeing, the old series static could wreck him in less than 10 episodes with his powers.
I think his character, in terms of personality, likability, and power set, could carry a live action movie. Like, I see him as a Spider Man sort of when it comes to character traits. With key and intriguing differences (outside of just the obvious thing being race.) Vastly different power set clearly, however, I think he could carry a movie like Spider Man does. He just needs a more well known rogues gallery.
Honestly, he is probably one of the better heroes in the whole DC universe due to the fact that he doesn't just clobber bad guys... he saves them too. At least the Static from the original animated series did. they also tackled a lot of heavy topics like homelessness and racism and stuff.
@@sweetcinnamonpnchkin this is because they werent really focusing on static. this was young justice. they kinda did the same with Black Lightening. He's a lot angrier and more powerful in the comics, so was static.
I feel so sad because Richie didn’t make the cut. Those two are like milk and cereal. Sure, one of them taste good on their own, but what a killer combo when you have them together. I wonder if it had anything to do with race at the time or if they really couldn’t include him because of story conflicts. To be honest, I think if they really wanted to they could have.
If there is a season 5, I'd love for Static/Virgil to be a part of the main crew. He's so cool and creative along with being so versatile and powerful 😄
I like that even before he's a hero, Virgil is still keeping collateral damage and civilians in mind. Kid had the heart of hero even before the Reach grabbed him.
Exactly. Static was always a charismatic, charming guy who was also written to be very good looking. The guy shouldn’t have a hard time getting a girlfriend.
@Will N also he has to keep his secret identity and keep a relationship. And a lot of women hate lack of communication. So now I’m disagreeing with what I said last month ago.
To anyone that didn’t know, static don’t actually belong to DC. They don’t wanna throw money into something when they not making a profit from it. Hopefully with them seeing the love static is getting from everyone. It would change their mind
@@mistaken5289 he was a Milestone media character before the show. comicbookdebate.com/2019/05/22/the-impact-of-milestone-and-the-necessity-of-its-revival/
Ikermeny Fr....The thing is..Static’s original comic book company that he represents (Milestone) got caught up in a dispute and he wasn’t really featured in anything. Prior to the dispute they kept barring the character from use.
I'm so happy they brought the series back. I recently finished watching the original 00s' Static and been reminiscing for a reboot. Great graphics and I like that the cast is multi-ethnic. I see you CW and DC! 👍🏾
@Embodiment of destruction seeing dc loves black guy white woman interacial pairings its sadly likely... Almost all their black men characters have a white woman on their shoulder.... Show a different pairing trope please
@@drewhaynes1874 Uh...it's way better than 'Black guy seeks good black woman' trope. Seriously. If you were a protagonist or anything back in the nineties, they'd make your love interest the same race in a heartbeat. Kinda insinuates that it's taboo to find love outside of people of our own...so I welcome interracial. It's pretty realistic anyway.
Static Shock needs his own show again. Like back in 2000. I was tight it got cancel back then. It was good. That was my show back on Kids ‘WB. Of course when a black superhero gets its own show of course it gets cancel 🤦♂️. Static is so underrated 🤦♂️
It’s cool seeing static in a team of other teenage super heroes and teaming up with Jaime and beast boy. I remember when cyborg was in teen titans he was the goofy fun type and they moved him up to a serious character in the justice league so I guess static will replace cyborg as the goofy type. I actually like the original static shock because he was silly and not only he was silly he was witty and full of puns. And his crime fighting was in the hood and he was in high school having an interesting life but I see his character is growing and joining other teams and getting more serious. I would like to see static more witty and more silly. So he can bring life to the group.
Ty Forget the CW it’s not a good network anymore the shows are good though just not the network maybe CBS, Fox, HBO, NBC or maybe sci-fi are better choices I’m just saying better writers/show runners/choreographer/higher budget
Comments: Static Shock is DC Spider-Man: 40% This Static Shock sucks in YJ: 25% Static Shock needs his own show again: 20% Static Shock is badass: 15% Me: meh ;-;...
DC should be putting their energies behind Static. A new cartoon, live-action TV show and/or a film. Static is the only character that plays at the same level as Marvel's Spider-Man.
