The dribble involves flicking the ball up from the ground onto the forehead and then running while bouncing the ball on the head, similar to a seal. This makes it extremely difficult for defenders to legally challenge the player.
Due to the risk of injury, the laws of football were updated to allow referees to award a free kick to the opposition if a player attempts a seal dribble in a manner that could cause injury. The player can also be cautioned for unsporting behavior
