The model is stunning! It still looks great. Any time that I've dropped a model, I've turned the broken pieces into Damage on the model. Discuss breaks or scratches with battle damage and it all gets hidden
Love the guys sculpts some of the best nid models I've found so far! Your paint job is amazing and honestly I might get some express colors soon because I've been printing so much recently. And with no time to paint I think that might be the way to go.

Man, that model is gorgeous. I just picked up a 2nd printer, Creality LD006. It's not fancy but it was on sale. May get this bugger and print it. Soon as I learn the right settings for my new printer.
I'm new to the whole model aspect of the 40k fandom and I've so far only been painting for maybe a month or so, in that time I've only painted Beast Snagga Orks, Termagaunts and World Eaters. That being said lore wise Tyranids are one of my favorite factions, probably top five easily so I can't wait to see some more new models and get to painting them. The models I've seen thus far that I'm most excited for are for sure the winged Tyranids, maybe finding a 3rd party model of a winged Tyranid for a future video would be a good idea? Although, to be honest I'm a bit hesitant in painting Nids, I don't play the tabletop and I really like experimenting with different colors but, I'm sure one day I will find some way to play the table top. All that in mind I'm unsure what Hive Fleet to paint Nids in, in terms of canonical ones Behemoth is for sure my favorite color scheme, the red skin and black carapace just looks stunning and scary. Anyone have any ideas considering I don't know how the different Hive Fleets play?
Oshounaminis recently released some crab themed nids that would be awesome to see you cover. Rakovendetta also have some cool parasites which could make a nice mix for an army.
Either Bob Smith medium or thick, or Zap thick or medium. BSI and Zap are 2 of the most pure CA's available to consumers. Built many RC balsa planes with both. Zap is slightly better than BSI. BSI is available at most hobby shops.
To add the coconut crab design mixed with the hive fleet kraken, you could add another colour on the tips of the pipes, horns and claws and use a small amount of dots.
Thanks for highlighting the sale. Been waffling on just buying the whole range, but, that changes today! I use OPR nids mostly (and they are updating the files) but these are just so much better.
Love phrozen's resin. I've been using their 4k resin since its the only resin I've found that doesn't smell (my family is very sensitive to the smell). Been thinking about trying out the 8k stuff when I get a new 28um printer later this summer.
You can use the cheapest super glue there is when you're using it together with an activator spray. I use it on all my 3d printed models for all sizes and shapes that I put together. It really instantly dries on contact and leaves a very sturdy connection between the parts. I can't use super glue without it any more.😅
Ive personally been painting my hive fleet similar to kraken but the carapace is darker red with white edges and dots. The end effect makes it so when theyre all together they disappear into eachother.
gouache is pronounced "goo-ah-shh". Fairly simple! :) another way to think about it is "goo + wash" but without the "w" pronunciation! on a side note: gauche is pronounced: go-"oo"-shh, some other people say it's easier to understand the "oo" sound spelled this way: gowsh. the weird sound that comes between the "go" and "sh" can best be described by me as something between an "oo" and a "u" sound. You can look up the pronunciation :)

one thing i do with contrast paints is i base coat my model with 3 different colors a exact opposite for shadows and a midtone then the highlights and start with light contrast then work my way to darker using some alcohol to break up the surface a bit and let it flow into crevice's
Use better resin. Get a "ABS like" resin and mix in 10-20% flexible resin such as Siraya Tech Tenacious. It'll still be a more brittle than GW plastic but it's 100% better than bargain bin resin.
After you showed him in a earlier video I had to buy the pack I also love the flea mini he made there great for Lil swarms and I gotta say the price is definitely worth it for these models
Wow! Looks awesome, do you know where I can get access to hellforged minis stl files, all hid pages are presumably being DMCA'd, and I am a very big fan of the prophets of ruin sculpts, and feel it would be more beneficial to print them off myself, rather than buying from etsy
Thank yo for your honesty in braking the model. I think you really should start using abs like Resin. The price difference is not that high and even the cheap brands are good enough to reduce breaking chances.
Anyone managed to find a resin that can print a similar shaped model and survive being dropped 3 feet without shattering? How would a dreadnought fare being dropped? It's the brittleness that is holding me back from buying one. Thanks
well just got my hands on all the models, what scale are you guys all planning to print these models at? im def gonna print a heiro at 100 percent but still not sure what scale i should be printing the hive tyrant as i dont own the kits. warriors and the new free models are all scaled properly so maybe i should be scaling down? how menacing is the 100 percent hive tyrant and is it unweildy on the table at 100 percent?

I can just taste their salty shill tears that they shed as I make an army for the price of 1 forgeworld item... that includes the said item and f load of them. Lmao I was introduced to WH40k via fan animation, and with them pulling the life support on it to make sure it has a price tag, I will gladly see the company crumble. But, a little bit of starving them by investing to 3D printing and asking for free prints of a book would suffice. Don't forget on sailing the Seven seas to watch some underwhelming WH+ content.
I have it on good authority that Magnus nudged your table knocking the swarm-lord off. To put it in perspective though, if the GW model was broken, it would cost $60 to replace it. With this since you still have the STL, it'll only cost you $5 and time..
Do you use Isopropyl Alcohol and, if you do, do you store it in the washing container? I got the Elegoo stuff and it would be kinda nice if I could leave it in the container and know it won't eat the plastic or the spinning wheel at the bottom.
Just print the swarmlord, one normal on hoof and one winged ... so the stl cost are devided ... I just bought the tyrant, the warriors and the raveners on discount, my wife didnt allowed more 😅😂 ... im super hyped by butov models. Maybe you could Show his free tyranid models for 10th Edition
Regarding glue, if someone knows alternatives to superglue, let me know - I’m so allergic to it it sets off an influenza like state for a few days, it’s pretty bad.
@@stillhereandstill6401 That's neat advice thank you. I don't print though :D I mean for general use. Maybe there's an easy to use epoxy glue or something that people have had experience with.

@@battlebrothersam it just shows he had real battles beforehand (life experience) lol how long did you cure for? When I cure I put bulky bits together and smaller thinner bits together it helps alot with not overcuring the resin.
I can't put my finger on why, but it bothers me that you're not telling people who made these awesome models unless they pay you to join your private discord. Like I get it, it probably helps you out, but it feels like a big disservice to the model's maker.
I dont say the makers name in the video because gw watch the videos and creators have asked me not to mention them before, I've even had to remove a video once because I said who the creators were and showed the page. People write the name in the comments anyway

@@battlebrothersamI'm not down with 1 to 1, but his takes on the nids are definitely sweet and far beyond the "official" nid models. Besides, nids aren't original either. Ask Giger. Same argument can be made there.
@@joshgrillo2482 Giger did not create the nids, he simply created the biomechanical art style he was known for and the look of the original xenomorph in Alien. Rather big difference in what is happening here, one is inspired by an art style, another is basing their entire sculpt on a preexisting IP with minor artistic changes. GW Nids would be protected from a copyright and trademark claim, these model sculpts would not sadly.
@@darschpugs4690 GW ripped off Giger to make the nids. in fact nids are ripped off from the bugs from starship troopers and Giger's work. but i guess you will defend GW's blatant IP theft to make every single thing they ever made. since fun fact every faction GW has ever made is stolen.
GW own only copyrights the Books and Minis not 3D Files 3D File Providers are plenty and the files can be copyed without end. GW would have a hard Time catching every single one and winning in court in forgein countries. And others will just reupload the same 3D Files. GW will just charge everyone els more to make up for it. Its what they always do.
Breakage is always my fear with 3D models, especially swords. Dropped an entire 3D printed Warcry warband once and watched the models shatter on the ground. I've since switched to ABS-like resin and under-cure my swords/spikey bits so that they have a little flex. As for glue, I use the cheap stuff from Harbor Freight (discount tool company in the US). It's as good as Zap-a-Gap, and it comes in small sealed tubes so I don't waste half a bottle if I don't use if for a while.
