I think it's pretty humble and human to ask opinions of others why not, after all the journalist's will probably be the ones writing about the product....

i own a ck2998 panda moonwatch, one of the 1000 limited editions i actually liked to wear as a watch. Sure, selling the same design in a 500$ watch may hurt the resale value of my watch a bit, but Jesus Christ, i think the moonswatches are awesome pieces offering a low barrier of entry into one of the most iconic timepieces ever and that’s cool by me. I bought my watch to wear it, not to count the days until i sell it at a profit and just maybe I’ll even buy myself a mooswatch to go with it.
Heard him on Bloomberg radio the other day. They have a very clearly articulated strategy to allow entry into quality watches at reasonable prices with the Moonswatch program.

I am not sure about the context of this short video, but Swatch lying to us about making the MoonSwatch to be widely available turned me off to Swatch and their executives. Their execs who promised general availability then made the MoonSwatch hard to get indefinitely should lose his/her job for being out of touch with watch buyers.
Can someone please explain to me why Omega gets so much hate for collaborating with Swatch??? It’s not like Dior gets slammed for collaborating with Nike!
Just my opinion but I’ll use your analogy as a base. Dior elevated the look and quality of the Nike. This is just a swatch with omega written on it. Garbage movement. Garbage quality control and materials. I thought hard about buying one when I had the chance and I’m glad I didn’t. Two separate friends who are enthusiasts had the same experience. Pushers broke in under 6 weeks. They lose time fast. Chipped all over the place. While a speedmaster isn’t cheap, it’s one of the more affordable and obtainable watches to save up for with a great history and lineage. Worth waiting for instead of settling. Ironically I really love swatches on their own because it’s a cheap beater that lasts and funny to think it’s Swiss made for 100$. Just can’t get behind this one. 🤷🏻. The other point is if swatch didn’t own omega this never would have happened. The collab was forced.

The guy that said weakness and fear also said Omega isnt a luxury brand. He's also a huge fan of Rolex who hasnt produced a specs competitive watch to Omega in years
Fun Fact: it was really a rock star move - as he said that he was waving the journalists over to a partybus for an all expense paid night on the town that had nothing to do with watches and everything to do with having a wild time

Omega (Swatch group) got everyone talking about them and got people queuing for their products down the street. They made the biggest buzz in the watch industry in years and sold “gateway” products for their luxury product. Every outlet from watch sites to GQ were writing about them. Hodinkee gave the moon watch the watch of the year. The six month report stated “the MoonSwatch helped to boost the company’s overall sales by 7.4% to roughly $3.6 billion.” They could have filled demand ten times over. No one is getting fired lolz. Imagine thinking it was some sort of failure for them, and gasping at “they asked journalists what shall we do?” The people who try and gate-keep the Moonwatch, because Omega made a super lost cost and lower quality version with Swatch amazes me.
It shows them being so confident they they’re just chill about it. Rather than ram X slogan down your neck or talk absolute nonsense about doing an activity that 99.9% of people will never do.

Honestly will not be buying a moonswatch. Was prepared to buy one for myself and a second for my girlfriend, but I lost interest before they were available. Such a lie they wouldn’t be limited but you cannot buy them online… weird and annoying swatch
