Thank you- My hope is it triggers an idea for those watching to solve problems of their own.

Love this. We had a little wall oven and cooktop alcove without any drop zones. This video inspired me to use this type of layout. Thank you.

wondering what you think about bringing that window sill to counter height? As you have to reframe the window anyway. I am doing some research online - some say the window sill will get damage from the splash, some say they love it. Thanks!

if you have large windows covering the entire front of the cooking range, do you even need to turn on the range hood if the windows are open? is the range hood even effective if the hypothetical windows are open as it would seem the hood will just suck the air from the windows instead of the fumes from the range.

Love your channel❤ I have a question based on the colors you used in this video: I’m building a new kitchen with black & white cabinets. Island with sink separating open plan living room and back wall with stove, refrigerator & cabinets. Lots of south facing windows on end side, two windows flanking stove. Black floors, white walls. Question: should I use black cabinets on island and white on back wall cabinets or vice versa? Not sure of the perspective result from the living room. Thanks!

You totally lost me at shrinking the window.

Out of curiosity, why is that?

Natural light is the best part of any room. There have to be other ways to get storage.

@@MyRamblingRose86 I agree that natural light is fantastic, and typically we want as much as possible. However, there are certain instances where a budget doesn't necessarily allow for alternatives. In an ideal world I could have added more storage and removed the central dividing wall of this kitchen to open up the space even more- letting in loads of additional natural light from floor to ceiling windows in a cathedral style family room. But that was not realistic here (way beyond budget), and for most people it won't be possible. A renovation can only be done within a given budget, and within reason for a homes value. The goal of these videos is not necessarily that to say this is the perfect solution, but to show how we go about making changes with all of the constraints that come with renovations.
