Simply put, Osamu Tezuka made comics a part of Japanese culture, and Akira Toriyama made Japanese comics a part of the world's culture.

From all accounts I can find, Toriyama was not only an amazing creator, but also very giving to his fellow creators. I like to think he would be delighted by the legacy he has left, not only in his body of work but in the artists he has inspired. Thank you for sharing this video!

Dragon Quest is easily my favorite RPG series. I played DQ 11 twice all the way through and I think I spent hundreds upon hundreds of hours playing all the others.

I came to Toriyama late, even though I was aware of the Dragonball anime. His manga is so good. I grew up with Schulz and Peanuts - and that's inspired me to create new comics, which I'm writing now.

Dragon warrior inspired such a large part of my storytelling and my humor. It’s something I find myself thinking about often. Toriyama made an imprint in my work I’ll never forget. ✌️❤️

My experience with Toriyama's work is very similar to yours where every time I fell in love with a piece of work, I found out he had a hand in it. I was utterly in awe and he has been my hero ever since. RIP to that man who sparked my imagination forever. I have been on a quest to create eve since.

💯- Akira Toriyama was a master at making funny & engaging fantasy worlds with lots of anachronisms and jokes/gags that keep you laughing. RIP - he will be missed

I don't know even as much as you do about Toriyama, in fact I don't know much beyond how strongly he's influenced my life since I was a kid. But considering how much he himself drew inspiration from other artists and popular culture, particularly and famously sci-fi, I think he would be honoured to serve as an inspiration for anyone trying to create their own little world/adventure/story/character/... He does that for me, and so do you, J. P. So this was very nice to see how you were inspired and influenced by him as well and perhaps it's telling that this is the case, even though I never consciously realised the similarities between your styles. 😅

Dragon ball was the first time I was ever captivated by anime and the reason I watch it now. I remember drawing all of the characters from DBZ all the time when I was younger too! He gave so many people a direction into new hobbies. Great video dude ❤
