You can consider Enlightenment frameworks hoyo's philosophy btw, since all their games from Honkai 3rd to Genshin use it as a story skeleton. Acheron's entire plane of Nihility scene blatantly mirrors Buddhist Ego Death (also known as Jungian Psychic Death). This is the last stage before Enlightenment. The experience contextualizes via Finality(!) why exactly your life happened up to that point. I remember watching an anime called Gun x Sword years ago that had * spoilers * an ending where a bad guy wanted to create a false heaven on earth. The gnostic symbolism really is prolific. This is all well and good but I'd suggest that you actually read religious authors if you want to talk about religious themes. Bart Erhman is an atheist so I have no idea why you would turn to him. Even in the footnotes of that book he admits that the textual differences between the NT manuscripts are largely irrelevant or negligible.
