Mama Cass’ voice is unmistakable and her life as a captivating singer of the Mamas and the Papas seemed like a dream. She appeared to always be having fun living an outrageous life during one of the most remarkable times in music history in one of the most iconic locations - Laurel Canyon. However, things are not always as they seem. Behind the scenes Mama Cass was dealing with quite a bit of messiness and when she died at the young age of 32 in July 1974 she left behind a 7 year old daughter, Owen who did not know who her father was. And in another hurtful blow, a cruel story was concocted about her mother’s death which followed Owen around throughout her childhood and into her adult life.
