My father was one of the teenagers who came from Tehran through the Rebbe’s Shluchim in 1979. He was 18 years old at the time and lived with a family in Crown Heights for almost two years. He came with many of his friends and classmates and often tells the story when asked. My family has become very active and involved with various Chabad groups and we continue to this day. The Rabbi who conducted my wedding was a student of the Rebbe and another student of the Rebbe will be conducting my brother’s wedding in August B’H. We continue to keep our Mizrachi customs and practices while learning Chassidut through Chabad texts such as the Tanya and speeches of the Rebbe and we are regular attendees at Chabad services.

What a great man. Thank God he could help those children.

In these days, we are blessed to learn of a continuing series of the projects and works of the Rebbe. The success of these things depended upon their not being generally known. This was not a problem for a Rebbe whose focus was on the results of the projects and not upon any measure credit for the effort; especially for a truly humble Rebbe. The Rebbe's projects, works and actions for Hashem will continue to be revealed in the present day.
