@@yungmozzarella8200 some dude said on a different comment that you never spawn there, the video was weirdly edited (not on purpose, i think) and it makes it look like you spawn there, but you actually need to find the tiny "room" in the video, somewhere in the map.
We designed it exactly to sound completely stupid and made up point for point pulled from shit from our childhoods like lies about getting mew or unlocking wario in smash 64 lmao.
Honestly, I'm glad I got spoiled of this because I would have NEVER found out about it on my own lol I found the battery but didn't find where to use it
for me, it was the corpse of robomando himself i found. when it said "requires 1 battery", i thought it was like the keycards on Contact Light so i first ran around looking for it before looking it up and realising i had accidently went to the stage on the 22nd minute to see robomando. truly something i would never have figured out myself
I imagine this is how Robomando was found in the first place. Different people found different parts of the puzzle and shared them with each other trying to fit them together lol
Please note: If you fight the robot whilst you have the prophets cape, when he tries to take the cape there will be a code error and you will crash. This is caused by there not being a model for his boss variant wearing the cape. If this crash happens, you need to completely restart the entire process. I found this out after 2 hours of searching for them and was not happy.
Alternatively if you wait, sometimes while the game is crashing it still does give the achievement, someone else's vid online has the moment it gave the achieve while their game was crashing
Please help. I did the whole process, and the boss item right before I got to him was cape. It spawned right on top of me. I figured I'd just finish anyway since I did all the effort, and the game crashed. So I went through the entire process again, and it just didn't work. I got all the way to stage 4, and it spawned me in the lava stage with no robomando to be found.
I had to do this twice because I was playing Drifter and in the middle of the little easter egg fight I kinda wanted to mess around and see if he could be beaten, so I spawned some temp items in the middle of the fight and one of them must have been the cape because my game crashed without granting me the unlock.
One thing I'll add to this, if you finish the game as Robomando, the ending song will be changed to a kinda funny upbeat track. Instead of the vocal track for coalescence.
I JUST finished following someone else's guide to this and unlocking him, (as well as trying him out lol) and I spent at least 5 minutes listening to the BANGER track the Golems are listening to down there. Like seriously, if you're doing this secret, chill with the golems for a few minutes. The tune goes SO hard and I can't wait til someone uploads it.
I'm part of the team that discovered and tested the method of unlocking! Glad to see the community enjoying Minimando As a side note: You can do either the battery or the robot spawn run with artifacts active (except sacrifice because that would prevent robot from spawning) and you can change the rules so you can deal 200% damage and enemies do 10% to you, it makes this so much easier for those who are struggling with the difficulty but want to unlock Robomando ^^
It doesn’t have to be 22 minutes exactly, just at least 22 minutes. The funny thing is they tried datamining and it was really well hidden. They figured out he spawns on rainstorm+ but they didn’t realize the battery doesn’t spawn on anything but drizzle, leading to a lot of confusion.
I'm actually more curious if anyone chronicled how the community worked to solve robomando instead of learning how to do it myself. I find the process of uncovering secrets more fascinating than the secret itself but its daunting to have to sift through kilometers of theorycrafting scrolls to find the whole story.
There is a secret code on every survivor that the community translated which is a very rough guide to the unlock, then a crafty individual figured out what the rough was about and completed it and made an easier guide to follow!
A helpful tip is that if you ever die during the second run (not on drizzle), then you'll have to do the first run all over again on drizzle since you'll have to insert the strange battery into the chest again. Also, robomando doesn't spawn on all map variants.
I freaked out because you made it look like you spawn where you find robomando and I thought I'd messed up but I had a look around the stage and found him.
Don't run on the outside of the ship in step two, jsut find a keycard in the left part of the ship and unlock the lower right door. what you want is right outside the window. ez
Wow, I had found the the mini commando location by accident then. But I thought the battery would have come from the drop pod like in ror2. Guess I gotta go unlock the little guy no. Thanks for the video!
wouldn't have stood unfound for a long time at all, but 22 minutes is kind of insane to have known. I figured out the battery + bottom of launchship part almost immediately passively playing the game (10 hours+)
This is such a cool secret, but really frustrating. Did the challenge and the game crashed right as I died even though I didn't have the cape. What's funny is that I had other challenges that I completed in the same run that saved, but robo didn't.
i found the battery and the chest on my 3rd winning run and mange to first put a normal equipment first then understood what the chest did but figuring out to go to stage on 22 mins i would have never walked into that
I see a lot of potential in it as a drone playthrough character? Basically no matter how expensive the drones get to repair you can revive them I think Only problem so far is I rarely seem to be finding drones, and better hope they don't die out of bounds or something.
Ya Drones are its lifeblood, especially in multiplayer. He's incredible in that setting though, free chests for everybody as well as the ability to funnel DPS items to others while you pick up every drone to gain some passive DPS.
I followed this exactly and got the battery to stage 3, used the teleporter after 22 minutes but before 23 minutes and got sent to the magma barracks :T
The fact that I had a run randomly with the battery, found the secret area under the Contact Light but just did nothing with the box or anything because I thought it was nothing but an easter egg bruh...
First, when I heard about there being secret survivor, I thought to myself "yeah, I could find it myself, no need to rush things". And now after unlocking every achievement, here I stand looking at this guide. I would've never gotten it, since I don't play on Drizzle. Goddam. I guess sometimes you gotta suck a little...
You can use the command artifact to make this a little easier as you can control what items you get. Obviously, you still gotta get battery and do the rest of it the usual way.
I've seen others get it with Command, so it's not that, so it's either because of playing in Classic mode or it's a bug. Will test tonight.@@danplays6273
DUDE. I went under the light out of curiosity and found he golems which i was thoroughly charmed by and then saw the chest so i was like ooh cool secret, I killed providence started another run and found the chest on a stage which gave me back my Thquibs and i felt very disspointed, I did so much of this with no idea of it's existence
So I found the chest at the Contact Light as well as the interactable that needed the battery on my own, but not the actual battery itself, I can at least say I got somewhat close before looking up wtf to do lol
@@danplays6273 on all platforms. From the main menu, hit start online co-op, create lobby, and then check the box that says "force item sharing" The description of the setting says "when active, this prevents players from picking up items if they have much more than other players." Pretty neat setting
Ive done this twice now and bugged both times play on drizzle, get the battery, give it to the chest behind the robots, start a new run on rainstorm, get the battery from the chest on stage 2, beat the stage 3 tp boss, wait for the timer to be between 22:01 and 22:59 (ive gone around 22:10 both times), finally I use the teleporter, and i spawn normally in the stage. (I didnt get magma caverns either time)
tried to get this earlier today and died after getting the battery out of the chest on stage 2. now it seems like neither the battery pot on stage 5 or the battery chest on stage 2 will spawn. im probably missing something but it feels like its bugged.
@@Cap_ ive made sure im on drizzle every time for the pot and rainstorm every time for the chest, what im maybe suspecting is that the chest only spawns on sky meadow and not fungal caverns as i dont think ive seen anyone find it on that stage and i havent managed to gotten sky meadow in like 6 runs
@@Cap_ turns out artifact of sacrifice will not spawn the pot but will spawn the chest. i turned on sacrifice after the run i first got the pot in and because it didnt remove the chest i thought the pot would be the same.
So I'm playing on the Switch, and after finishing the teleporter on stage three I waited around until 22:15, with the battery in hand, no artifacts enabled, on rainstorm difficulty, and spawned on the correct stage but not in the space where Robomando is, he was also nowhere to be found anywhere else on the stage. Seems to be some kind of glitch, going to bank the battery in the equipment storage again and start over.
Trying again seemed to fix it, if something similar happens to you, simply go to the contact light and bank the battery again, then try another run on rainstorm
so after doing this it seems it isnt guaranteed you get sent to the exact place you need to be, just look for it in a secret area on the map and you can unlock him
I beat my first monsoon run with this guy. He is busted if you rush and find lots of drones. Plus he can go through the contact light stage and get all the items really fast.
I actually found that chip thing yesterday during a run and grabbed it thinking it would unlock a survivor like what you do for Rex, the plant boi, in RoR2, and I even tried to get out of the contact light so i could explore more. However I didn't have the mobility to get out can't believe I was actually kind of close to finding this naturally.
You have to find Robomando, I did this 3 times before watching a different guide and realizing you have to find him. I though you were supposed to spawn in a box with him and have him kill you there, I didnt know you had to find his ass.
same yeah just wasted my time because i had the battery and i was at stage 3 and instead teleported to a magma level instead of that area at the 22:00 minute, kind of annoying
Yesterday I played with a rando and locked in this secret character. He got really mad cuz he thought I was hacking and had found some shit in the gamefiles
Don't let his amazing seeming skillset fool you-- I played him for 6 minutes before dying and it was painful. A lot of the reason is his primary fire can't be shot in the opposite direction he's running, since it's multiple individual shots, rather than Commando's rapidfire shots. The shift is good for like 2 I-frames, and canceling fall damage. Not useful for mobility at all. The secondary is if you took Commando's and made it only go 2 feet in front of you with very little damage. Honestly, the best ability is his R by a long shot. If anyone beats Monsoon, or even Rainstorm with Robomando, I will be thoroughly impressed. It will probably be harder to beat the game with Robomando than attempting an all artifact run with any other character.
something tells me the speed at which you can move through and gain items with him will indeed make him busted. Like he'll probably have dogshit stage 1's compared with say Miner, but he will definitely get to Providence faster and with more items.
I beat rainstorm on my second try with Robomando. The speed combined with the special allowed me to spend around 2 minutes per stage while still looting a lot. It's actually insane.
@@psychicchicken5263 Really? Dang okay. Maybe I'm just bad then lol. When I briefly tried him out, the DPS I had was just terrible, and looting was a pain. I guess since you only really need to kill the boss you can ignore everything else with enough mobility, but still seems hard. I'll have to try him again.
@@ajhintleman215 I did get clapped pretty badly on my first run due to almost all interactables being drones (bad luck) lol. I think a lot of it comes down to how much you're abusing special, so it's understandable if it feels difficult for some people.
I followed every step. I used the battery. I died. The game crashed. I haven't even unlocked the cape yet, and therefore have never gotten it. Why does the universe hate me?
ive done this 3 times to a T and nothing. perfect 22 min timing. With and without command artifacts. battery at stage 2 always. I have scoured every inch of each map. and 3 times now he has not appeared. What the hell.
I think the gilded worms on Providence count, there is also a secret boss golem that Spawns on the Artifact at dried lake (or the other 1st map) and he seemed to count for me@@aidenmclaughlin1076
I kept finding this battery thing on accident, the robomando, and I couldn't figure out how to get the battery to power him on. Thx for this video tho, I can now find it ^^ (is there any particular class or can all of them do it?)
But behind the part where you save your battery into the chest, you can still go on and there's like a glowing hollow stone? Do you know anything about it?
only thing I changed was the intensity settings, increased my dmg to 200% and dmg taken to 10%. Because I saw someone in another video do that without a problem. Maybe that broke it?
Okay, I get the key and do all the steps but my level is different then yours (I know that happens) so I’m looking for the guy to put the battery in and 2 times I haven’t found him. What the heck lol. I couldn’t find him on the hive level or the lava one.
I complete up to step 3 and died trying to do step four but when i went back to do step one again i never found the battery it was gone. So i thought i didnt need to do it again so i went to step 3 again and now i cant find the case someone help me
