I'm so glad, as a civic driver, that we can call them "pro sim racists" because as someone who does touge on gamepad, I have an irrational hatred of wheels and every car has at least five of them
You do togue? Man....that just sounds super gay. I mean I'm not trying to be a jerk here, but that word is just absolutely retarded. Like I said I'm really not trying to be a jerk, but you use a lame azzzzz gamepad for racing Sims, sounds about as lame as the word togue. Sorry if sound like an egotistical azzzzwipe, like I said I'm really not trying to be.
Gran Turismo 3 had you drive a Miata on Trial Mountain for a license test, it was pretty hard because if you slowed down too much or made a mistake, the car would take 3-5 business days to get back up to speed
I started simming with NR2003 and in Nascar momentum is everything. There's no hard braking into the corner and such but the pedals are there for mostly steering: more gas->more understeer, less gas->less understeer and you usually gain by keeping the speed up and the balance mid-corner. Rather than using aggressive inputs you drive like you're on ice.
What's wrong with semi-slicks? They are perfectly road legal, and anyone seeking to get the maximum potential out of driving fast irl will be running them. If I was to regularly track/togue a car irl it would most likely be running Pilot cup 2s or AD08RSs. It's not like they are much more expensive than normal summer tires. My Michelin F1 eagle asymmetric 6 cost 85 euros per tire, an AD08RS costs 112 euros per tire. 120 more per set is not much when you're trying to go fast. Don't know why you'd chose to run on the slower tire, you might as well run on all-seasons, winters or spares at that point. Besides selecting "street" tires on Assetto could mean you're running Asymmetric 6s, Pilot sport 4Ss or some no name LingLongs from China
Not to throw geek glasses, but The Godzilla is a status for just the R32's dominance throughout most Touring car of that time plus on a Australian magazine Wheels, and not R34 of it's time. Therefore that is not Godzilla even though with the similiar specs. Want more factual stuff just go watch Dytastic's 101 facts of Nissan it is helpful.
True but I like to add the r33 along with Godzilla due to it being very similar and close in years. R33 imo is still Godzilla. The R34 changed too much to be considered. But that's just my take
You can do that in fast cars as well, if you know how to drive big cars you can destroy MX5 even with good driver, it's like you say, more of skill issue with public lobbies. People there rarely give any decent challenge 😅
ive only driven mx5 on touge for the 4 years ive been sim racing and this explains everything. my formula for going fast just doesn't transfer to high power cars because ive only driven
Ty ty ty for not using phonk music for this. Phonk is okay but everyone and their grandma uses it. I personally love the uk soundtrack here. Little bit of garage and dnb. I also picked up on the UT tune, NOICE. i also loved the camera work. Oh and the racing tidbits were on point too. Needless to say, but i subbed! (Taking a gamble here as this is the 1st vid i seen from this ch)
I've been watching your content for ages but only just realised I wasn't subscribed, inspired me to buy a wheel and teaching me to push myself =D Love the content
Just had a blast driving this map with the Miata, thanks for bringing attention to it. If you don't mind sharing, what times are you normally doing without other cars on the road?
The funny thing is I heard this first in Receiver 2 of al things. Where the in game narrator voice guy is basically telling and teaching you how to clear rooms. Instead of running in, do arcs and slow check angles, etc. Something something slice the pie but whatever, it's wild just how much this saying works.
The only way to know for sure if it's the limitations of the car or just the skill of your opponents is to hotlap them yourself. If you find You're lapping within the same second with two differently powered cars, then the limitations of the heavier car are certainly a factor. If you are lapping 4 seconds faster in one then you know that the driver skill will have no impact. Another factor is tires - Selecting "street", or "semi-slick" on both cars, doesn't mean you're running the same tires. Regular street summer tires like the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S, Goodyear F1 Eagle Asymmetric 6 or Bridgestone Potenza Sports can have large differences in lap times, not to mention non-UHP tires like no names from China. There is also a difference in potential lap times if you compare the same tire brand and model made in 2 different countries. A northern moderate climate country like Germany or the UK will run a different compound to Mediterranean climate countries like Greece or Italy which are also adjusted to different asphalt types. The only way to equalize this is to have the exact same tire values in the mod files, which I'm not sure if the Kunos cars have (haven't checked (they might do though)). This brings me to the next factor - Mod accuracy. You can never get a mod to be a 1:1 of a cars real potential, that goes for Kunos cars as much as it does pay mods and cobbled together low quality mods. I run a lap time comparison board for myself on Gunma (Gunsai Togue(aka the togue from best motoring)) on which a Corvette C4 ZR1 is apparently 5 seconds faster than an MP4-12C, 8 seconds faster than a Porsche 911(997) GT3 RS and 12 seconds faster than an Elise 111R. As such making a statement on potentials and limitations of different car types should be taken with a grain of salt. As for your techniques, you are pretty much on the money. Overslowing is an issue that many face at first in momentum cars. It is still slow in fast out, but the balance of slow and fast has to be adjusted depending on the corner, and more importantly on the straight that follows. Using the least amount of steering (brake to rotate, gas to stop rotating) is also paramount to assure the best exit, retention of speed and preservation of tire life and temperature control. (2019 S2 iRacing Advanced Mazda Cup series vice champion, 2019 Nürburgring 24h Mazda top split winner. So I have a little experience with these little critters)
this is not a matter of car, this is a matter of skill. if youve been driving for a while is pretty obvious that you'll beat new players. so it's easy to say "beating an r34 in a miata" lol
One of my first experiences for online corsa was using the mx-5. For a little while before playing online id play offline with other cars. I learned i could play online on servers that interested me. I hopped in the mx-5 for the first time and smashed the competition
driving slow cars fast is way more fun than fast cars. The road is not a racetrack. U will be smiling at 100kph in a miata, while almost falling asleep on an s class.
hey man your videos are great but you give little to no time to click on the next one. maybe give us an outro with music or something so we can click on the video you recommend
alright then time to delete every car mod I have and just stick with the Honda Acty, im locking in, if you see a Honda Acty driving online thats not me
that sim racing bloke, i really love your different ways of handling togue and rewally appreciate your content. can you please share the song you use at 0:21 ? and all the other tracks you use in this video cuz they all are bangers! cheers mate!
I had similar issues in Minecraft a few years back, it had to do with Nvidia Drivers. It's either a setting (like FXAA as you said, but the Nvidia driver setting) or bad drivers that he needs to fresh reinstall
Tried that, didn’t help. Turning off MSAA and Ansiotropic Filtering helped a bit but not completely. Figured something wrong with the track as all my other ones are fine….
@@JeuneF fr and then you finally get someone who can get past there but theyre slow everywhere else so you just end up passing or running away from them
bro this is amazing. would you be so kind to make a video about the same topic on Mobara Twin Circuit, for example? I did a trackday on my daily driver 2011 Honda Fit RS GE8. I'm going to take your tips into account when I drive there again in September :)
