Devin A looked for this particular comment. i was shocked at first. looked like casey's being possessed by the devil when he started to roll. lmao. realized it was reversed afterwards.
frank howarth Wow! it's Frank Howarth, I'm a huge fan & subscriber of your amazing woodworking videos. Good to see you taking some timeout from your kitchen renovations :)
frank howarth love your channel mate, my dads biggest dream in life is to own a workshop like yours! Hopefully one day we can make that happen and when it does I will share the build video with you.
Edis Goldner idk if you follow him on snapchat but he stated on there that candice hired them for the sample sale party and there was a margarita machine as well lol
I'm travelling very soon to Lebanon for the summer and the internet their isn't great. I don't know how I am going to manage 2 months without seeing Casey's vlogs. Wish me luck... And great work Casey!! Another amazing vlog!!
I never participate in the Q&A on Twitter because my questions are always longer than what you're allowed to write. When you were living in a trailer, on welfare, dropped out of high school etc. was that a "rock bottom" situation? You know how they say some people need to hit rock bottom before they can go up? Was that the case for you or did you always have a fire in your belly to be successful?
Hey thunder, idk if you have watched his Ted talk or any of his talks that are on RU-vid. But there is this one part in one of them, in which he says he has this outlook that all of us (at least the people) on the internet watching this right now, have won the lottery on life. And he said that when he took big risks or chances in his life he said absolute worst case he would have to move back to Connecticut, and wash dishes again, and he said bag was ABSOLUTE WORST case and he did that so he knew it wasn't that bad. And he proceeded to talk about AIDs patients in Uganda that he helped deliver morphine too years ago, and how they did not win the lottery on life. Idk if I'm getting the point across but it was super inspiring to hear him talk like that. And thinking about life like that is super insightful.
Troy VlogsAbroad I did watch that TED Talk. I remember being really interested in the idea of that organization and how we take pain relief for granted in the developed world. I also understand that the developed world's idea of "rock bottom" is more devastating that Uganda's "rock bottom." I wonder if he's always had the drive to be successful or if his situation as a teenager was the fuel for him to go out and be an entrepreneur.
***** Troy VlogsAbroad Yep, we HAVE WON THE LOTTERY IN LIFE, I QUOTE THAT TO MYSELF, DAILY! Dino Barberino Its really depressing for me as a creator as i try very hard to make weekly videos and get sad when only a few people watch them but then again, that's life! Weird cat videos have more views than casey's masterpieces,
Dear God, he's a film maker who made great ad films for product but then decided to put all his focus on RU-vid. He made successful youtube films like "Travel With Style" for J. Crew, "Make It Count" for nike. In 2015, he announced that he will make films everyday which would be daily vlogs like FunForLouis and MrBenBrown but his storytelling method is completely unique and inspiring. His work is a lot like Wes Anderson's but in some way quite different, Casey Neistat is a brand name now and one of the best youtube filmmaker. \ I hope you got that God. Now I'm one of your million children and would be honored if you checked out my channel, too. I'm also good and try hard to make good videos for RU-vid, Love!
Your vlogs really make me want to get back into film/video making, I haven't made one in nearly a year and feel its about time to start again! Thanks Casey! :)
***** I certainly would not blame her with the potential to reach around 300k people to promote your starting business. It doesn't even have to be a paid endorsement just getting your name said can help boost you starting off. I know I checked out her website. I am not a person into Yoga or live anywhere near NYC but wanted to see her deal.
***** I am aware of the 700k+ subscribers, but on average his vlogs are getting 300k in views. The number of views you get is a real determination of your out reach.
just finished up reading your interview on coveteur. seems everywhere i look these days there is always something to read or watch about you, definitely not complaining. you have the best content on RU-vid right now by a long way, keep killing it Casey, youre great! :)
DigitalNinja i guess thats a factor. but dont forget, these other "big" youtubers are getting 10x the press casey is, not to mention numerous book deals etc
Casey, I what to thank you for inspiring all who watch. I have been working really hard on improving my photography (for the past year and a half) and starting my own business. I had my first paying customer last week, and it was incredibly successful. In fact I am already booking more clients! I have never been more passionate or dedicated to anything (besides my family). And my goal is to just keep improving and working hard, like you say there shouldn't be an end "goal" like a finish line and then you stop, because there is ALWAYS room to improve! I used to spend alot of my free time watching You Tube and now I spend it on my work, with the exception of your vlog. You inspired me to believe in myself, so thank you!
I never felt so lifted this much in my life before. Casey.. how do you know that I'm going to have a bad day today?! I just had the most shittiest day at school (again) and I felt so down and tired of people pushing me around. I'm tired of Living the Life instead changing and enhancing the life. I have forgotten how to think in that way, but this video makes me realise that again.. :) Thanks for making such a beautiful and meaningful blog everyday Casey! Big Fan!
I feel like a hermit for just recently discovering you, Jimmy Diresta mentioning you peaked my curiosity. You're truly an inspiration. Make videos forever. Much love and respect.
The funniest part about the mariachi is that I'm pretty sure 90 % of the people in there, if not all. Have absolutely no idea what they're singing haha
Nacho M No es despectivo, Spaniard es el gentilicio. Spanish solo se usa para decir "Spanish person" o "I speak Spanish". Ya sé que es algo que no enseñan en el instituto pero es así.
Casey, I started watching your blog through my Teen Daughter, a couple of years ago. Now, while having lunch at my desk , I really enjoy watching the whole VLOGs (1 or 2 every day ) Thanks for your positive message, you really inspire my day :)
I have this constant struggle when watching Casey's vlogs. I'm always super inspired and get extremely productive afterwards. Then I remember I'm 22 and haven't sold anything to HBO. :( But seriously thank you for these vlogs. I want to start making videos again (if you go on my channel you'll see a string of failures huehue). These vlogs are a huge inspiration and serve as my productivity boosters.
Rigo R.M You've got to start somewhere before you can sell a show to HBO. Don't let the lack of accomplishment paralyse you! Use the talent you've got and get out there and do! ps. your videos are pretty good.
Rigo R.M Just start making stuff... Dont let those thoughts creep in. And also dont get stuck just thinking and dreaming. Just start making stuff even if its bad. You are guaranteed to get better at something if you just keep doing it.
I feel very comforted hearing you say that about not functioning in an environment where you have to trust someones judgment just because they decided that they are your superior. I failed to keep the simplest jobs because of that. It's not even a stubborn attitude I have towards authority, it's just how I'm wired. It's not voluntary. I cried a lot thinking that I was a failure because I couldn't keep the simplest job any idiot could keep. And there I had my problem: I'm no idiot. I always want to give more than what anyone can do. I now see it as my strength and recognise the same "wiring" in other ambitious people around me. Stay awesome, Casey!
***** Of course, I get that it works that way, but that is exactly what my problem is. "Just because it works that way around here" is a very bad motivator for me personally. If I do something, it has to have some sort of purpose, more than doing something because someone told me to go do that. If my superior in a clothing store where I worked would tell me to go fold some t-shirts, I would. It's my job. But they would soon enough notice that I can't work in full capacity if I don't see a greater goal in doing it. Or actually, all they would notice is that I'm lazy and don't fold quickly enough, but luckily I know better today and simply avoid such jobs.
You're such an inspiration and I love that you're honest and practice tough love with people looking to have their hands held. I'm learning so much from you.
I love how much your experimenting with your editing Casey. The rewind Q&A and the not so abrupt ending. It was refreshing kinda. Still like your signature, sudden ending though.
mike gager ha ha ha...I thought that at first too. But look closer, there's free stuff on the street. As a former ny'er we are always checking out free stuff on the street.
The Steve Jobs quote is great but it's a flawed way of thinking; Apple wouldn't be able to operate without the thousands of people doing the menial thankless jobs. If everybody decided to try and become their own boss, the world would just fall apart. You wouldn't be able to upload to RU-vid without all of the technicians running the servers, some people might look like they're running their own show but truth is there are a lot more people behind the scenes keeping the site up making it all possible. I appreciate all of the people doing the crappy thankless jobs, it might appear that they're not contributing much to the world but the truth is they're allowing another person to live their dream, they're essentially devoting their life to another person.
Captain Shark Captain Shark, you do not understand the meaning of life, stop living life in the boundaries. Casey was simply demonstrating the meaning of life and extending upon a new outro.
Don't you get it? He ends with "I'm going to visit your party now" - no abrupt ending - mariachi band - party lasts on long after this vlog ends I think that's why there's no abrupt ending today
Amen! Thanks for sharing. A great reminder from someone I think greatly embodies what both these these really smart guys had to say. :) #after-midnight-amens
Too much awesomeness in this one! Made me miss Steve Jobs even more. We need more people like him around to balance out all the Kardashian Bieber hipster runoff mindless behavior going on.
That slow motion was so cool, at first I thought it was just a reverse music sound playing but then it just kept getting cooler and cooler. Good job Casey :)
I've been doing two seconds a day of video for the last year trying to work on creating more like Casey with these vlogs. Hoping that one day I can work my way up to daily vlogging but even these little compilations are insanely helpful for getting into the habit of filming life
Casey, I luv the way the you edited this vlog so the circumstances behind the odd opening shot are not revealed until almost the end, when we've all but forgotten about it. Then the shot happens, the mental light bulb goes on and the viewer thinks "A-ha!" It's a very cool story device (and one you should think about using more often.) Thanks. 👍
Casey thank you for this video. It inspired me and hopefully others to go beyond what they believe they can do in life and I truly appreciate that. Thank you for being an amazingly unique individual
Actually, she sent it to another youtuber, alfie deyes aka pointlessblog! He showed us in a video telling casey gave him (but he will pay him back for it). So the Candice one is another ;)
