The Secrets to Surviving The Four of Clubs Death Game in Alice in Borderland 

The face that Arisu noticed SO MUCH before the "live/death door" game, the car, the emergency exit, the building layout. But he didn't notice a giant "GOAL" on the side of the bus bothered me so much.

Just a bit of trivia- The 4 of Clubs is actually shockingly different in the manga. Firstly, Arisu and Usagi aren't even there. It's presented as one of many side stories that involve some randos. All the players start in the tunnel and rubble falls closing the entrance. The rubble also appears to harm one of the players rendering them unable to run. The rules state they must endure 4 trials and reach the goal. Around them are 4 doors each reading a timer for 10 minutes, 20 minutes, 30 minutes, and 50 minutes. A sign says: 'Distance to goal- km' with the most important part blacked out. Just around the corner of the tunnel is the bus, although all but 2 players barely spend a moment looking at it and keep running. A girl sees the guy who can't run and decides to stay in the bus with him. When he asks why, she says she was treated kindly by a woman when she was at her lowest point and just wants to pass on the kindness even if they both die. After 10 minutes, a cheetah is unleashed that kills one of the players. After 20 minutes, the tunnel gets flooded with water that kills the jaguar, and a sea of crocodiles are released. The remaining players hop on top of the different cars in the tunnel. A sign also reads: 'Distance to goal- 5km.' After 30 minutes, the tunnel is covered in snow that begins freezing one of the players to death. (Meanwhile the bus has heating.) This whole time the one player that endured it all did so only in hopes to get back to the real world and see his girlfriend again who he was trying to prove to her that he wasn't like other guys. However, the man is met with nothing but a dead end and a sign reading: 'Distance to goal- 10km.' Just then the 50 minute mark hits and an explosion goes off destroying everything in its path including the rubble at the entrance and Excluding the bus. In the final moment before the fire takes his life, the man smiles, deciding to accept his death as bittersweet due to him realizing that since be left everyone else to die- He is just: 'another one of those losers.'

So what im hearing is...in order to survive I should start a cult of people who are willing to die for me, gotcha.

I’m surprised no one actually thought about where the goal actually is. They even said “how far do we gotta go” and “this feels more like a spades game” which, would make you think if you’re really playing correctly/moving towards the right solution. Like why didn’t they even consider the idea that they could be running in the wrong direction? Everyone immediately sets off to run in the same direction but there was zero indication of which way to go or where they need to be headed.

3 and 4 of clubs are some of the hardest games in borderlands, can't even imagine how hard higher leveled club games could be

My first thought when the game started was "ok, but what's the goal?" and I think that Arisu is smart enough to have questioned the same thing...

I guess also one of the reasons it is a 4 of clubs game is because they all need to cooperate... For me, this is a test on the limp guy (Seizan if I recall), they should've stuck together and supported each other. Like the 3 of clubs game, they shouldn't have fought who can survive or not. If they all wanted to survive they should help each other. I guess Arisu realizes this when he came back to save the limp guy. Club games tests your patience in betting other people's lives

Things like the motorcycle,the water.. There meant to make you think your going the right way and give you hope. but in reality. ITS JUST MORE DESPAIRRRRRR

Tbh, I'm so surprised that the players didn't check the side of the bus before they started running. My first instinct was to check the side of the bus to see if there was any way to add fuel to it and then I would've seen the "GOAL" sign on the side of the bus.

I really liked this analysis! I hope you cover the other games, and maybe even some of the ones in the manga, especially the ones Chyshia plays. Also the rules in the 10 of Hearts games were never misleading. It was literally just there so players wouldn't go: 'Let's just kill all the female players here because it said witch.' Just want to say- I still can't get over how brilliant the idea of one guy on reddit for the King of Hearts was. The idea where you have to use nothing but your speech to convince the king to kill himself in order to get a game clear. It check marks all the boxes. You can imagine the king's backstory- wanting to die but have it be at his own hands rather than someone else's. The players are undoubtably going to feel bad that they just talked someone into killing themselves. It is undoubtably more difficult than all other Hearts games and arguably all games in the whole Borderlands. The players will struggle with their desire to give up despite knowing that would give them a game over.

Teamwork is important, without teamwork, the injured one dies. Or in this case the only one survives...

This show (and channel) just keeps on giving great content!

We later learn Mira Kanō set up the 7 of Hearts games specifically for Arisu and his friends. This game could have been specifically designed knowing one members leg was hurt. It is meant to be a team game so if they had all stayed behind with the member who hurt their leg they would have all survived, by being a team.

I really love the analysis in this stuff. It's kinda melodramatic in a fun way. I wish there were more games already so you could break them down, too. Maybe you'll look into The Werefwolf Game series next?

I'm only half way through the episode but what if the injured guy was a dealer? Like momoka? What if he purposefully told them that "he'd stay on the bus and find a way out" to get them away from the bus so they'd lose and he'd win? (I just realized that if that were the case he would've been shot by the laser right? idk lol)

Edit: I am continually fascinated by American Ben's deep interpretations & contemplations of content that I admittedly initially viewed more superficially. I may have solved the 10 of hearts game quickly, & would've known to stay on the bus due to wariness that would have me walking around the bus to look it over before getting on (that & my curiosity about the graffiti), but I hadn't considered the underlying themes of the show, the individual episodes, & each game. Also, since there was only 1 comment before I first added mine, & I was the 3rd like/thumbs up, I think RU-vid doesn't refresh the comments section in real time (& definitely not while people are watching the video or writing their comment). Thus, we could have multiple "firsts" thanks to simultaneous activity. So CONGRATS to ALL of the firsts to watch, like, & comment!!

And the thing about the bus that I feel like Would’ve have helped them realize that the bus is the safe place was that if they walked towards the bus the number would’ve went down and maybe sparked an idea if that makes sense

i showed my dad this show because he kept asking why my mom and i talk about it and whats so good about it, and we watched it all and he said "Wait, Thats it?" i said no but like i had to explain all the games to him because he didnt understand any of it this game number one i had to explain ☠ idek why its easy to understand but oh well i wasted about 20 minutes of my time talking about it to him and still doesnt get it

How the f did the water was able to broke solid iron wall 💀 . A solid thing like that would act as a wall and no possible way for even strong water pressure could dent a strong like that. Movie even shows screws literally unscrewing 💀
