Sometimes you can get angry at God for letting certain things happen in our lives and may end up distancing ourselves from Him. So I think that's where forgiveness comes in. Because you accept that His plans are better
God doesn't need forgiveness, He is perfect but sometimes as humans we may get angry at Him and feel we need to forgive Him. We don't relate to God the same way.

Pastors (an office women are forbidden to hold according to the Bible) are charged with properly exegeting scripture, period. I stopped following her last year because something wasn’t right. She doesn’t teach anything and she’s always stumbling over her words. She may throw one Bible verse out then goes on a tantrum to make you feel good. A motivational speaker!
I'd say that's par for the course for about 90% of Black churches. Read one verse or two and speak for an hour or more about prosperity or overcoming a struggle.

I can understand the “ Forgive God “ in the right context. Example someone may blame God for taking a loved one. I believe you have to understand his sovereignty and then the forgiveness. People do get angry with God and leave the faith.
But, it’s not about God being ‘forgiven’ we do not have the power to forgive God. It’s about us submitting to God, accepting God as our savior, praising Him, and praying to Him to forgive us of our sins. It’s about God forgiving us of our sins not visa versa. God bless!

I wouldn’t say it’s a matter of shouting, dancing, jumping, and running because all these things were done unto the Lord biblically. It’s a matter of who you are allowing to Shepard you and if they are led by the Holy Spirit and the Word. Unfortunately many churches are not and are performative based. Ironically...I wrote a devotional about "Forgiving God". I believe it was inspired by Him because my heart had blamed Him for the events that had occurred throughout my personal journey so much and I wasn't able to break free of the trauma that had occurred. It wasn't that I was forgiving God because He WAS at fault, but more so b/c my understanding and belief in Him is that deep, that I really have the expectation that He will protect me and take care of me....and He has and does. I think it was my flesh that needed the release from that anger towards God. I get what she meant. No sure if it was Spirit led considering, but I get it. I think we box God in and don't expect Him to operate outside of what we study in the Word. However, His Word says that He will take us from glory to glory...we have to be completely open to what that glory looks like b/c we honestly don't know...there's soooo much more to God than we'll ever even know or understand... let's not box Him in and put our limits on Him.
I understand that. I don’t think forgiving God means you think he’s at fault because I’ve found myself having to also let go of this anger or I think the better word is disappointment that I felt which was more about me than God. Obviously God was and is doing everything for my good but sometimes when we FEEL like God hasn’t met our expectations we can lash out. I had to repent and work through that disappointment not to necessarily forgive God but to understand God more.

Unlike Moses, who was veiled under the Old Covenant *(2 Cor 3:13-15),* New Covenant believers are unveiled *(2 Cor 3:16)* and should reflect, like a mirror, the glory of God, which is the glory of Christ *(2 Cor 3:18).* New Covenant believers are being transformed into the image of Christ, glory to glory, i.e., individually and continuously through the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit. So in context, “glory to glory” is speaking of the progression of sanctification and transformation of God’s children becoming more like the image of Christ. This has absolutely nothing to do with limiting God or placing Him in a box which incidentally is not possible.

I watched all of these so called “pastors” TD Jakes, Rod Parsley, Juanita Bynum, etc. and I remember feeling worse after watching them than before. All these people would talk about is how to praise yourself and money. That’s all TBN was about. If everyone could find salvation and fulfillment in me, others or money then we wouldn’t need Christ in our lives.

When Christ came, the Jews thought He was going to restore the kingdom of Israel, that they would be delivered from Roman oppression and he would bring them back to prosperity. Instead he brought the message of repentance and a rebuke to the Pharisees (Luke 13:1-9) He came to seek the lost and died to save sinners...not place them in earthly mansions, nice cars and give them their best life now (Philippians 1:29, 2 Timothy 3:12, Acts 14:22 and 2 Timothy 1:8-9 and for a good picture of this Psalms 73). This is not to say that God does not take care of His people, indeed He does....but it is ONLY the people of God who can say "The Lord is my Shepherd" You don't get to Psalms 23 unless you understand and go through Psalms 22. Psalms 23 says "You (meaning God) have prepare a table for me in the presence of my enemies" This table He has prepared is in the midst of tribulation and trials, not in company of peace and stability. That as you walk with him you are going to experience suffering, but the good news is what God has prepared in the midst of it...He has given us life and life more abundantly in the presence of our enemies. Which is why Paul stated "I know in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content" (Philippians 4:11) that I know I can be content in what God has and continues to provide as long as I abide in him.
Lots of so-called pastors and preachers like TD Jakes and Sarah Jakes etc, they preach prosperity preaching. When Jesus went to the cross and died for our sins, he did it so we could have eternal life, not wealth, not riches, not prosperity. Jesus does provide for his children but not in being wealthy with riches but rich in Christ Jesus and to prepare us for the afterlife, which is eternal life. So many people in that church is looking for wealth and riches and they're not going to get it because they are not seeking God first and even when they seek God there is no guarantee of wealth. I remember hearing TD Jakes preach in one of his sermons that "you can have wealth at the drop of a dime" that's when I knew he was preaching the wrong thing to his congregation and I never visited his church again. My only goal is to be a woman after God's own heart. I do not need wealth, riches, fine cars, fine houses and lands. All I ever want is JESUS, my Lord, my King and my Savior. Absolutely! I had this conversation with a friend of mine yesterday. What has annoyed me is the lack of word that I see. The "better self" or "best life" gospel that people keep teaching isn't causing people to grow in Christ. I look back at Kenneth Hagin and Fred K.C. Price...to name a few...they went line upon line precept upon precept in teaching the word and it was about the "me" crowd. They taught how to grow in the Lord and in one's relationship with Him. They taught about the One Who so many don't even mention nowadays...the Holy Spirit. When is the last time that you've seen people go to scripture and teach on the gifts of the Spirit in 1Corinthians 12? Heck...when is the last time that you've seen churches yield and wait on the Holy Spirit to minister? When is the last time that we've seen church services that focus on the Lord alone? The songs that are song nowadays don't focus on the Lord. They focus on us. They set the "atmosphere" for us....not Him Who we're there to supposedly worship. I wonder how many Sundays the Holy Spirit sits back yearning to minister, but being a gentlemen doesn't because the Church is trying to do His job.

One of the points made by my pastor in today’s sermon was that we must always be aware of our own need for God’s forgiveness. Nothing about God needing OUR forgiveness (I mean, how arrogant is that?????).
She used to speak at a Women’s Conference in St. Louis. I thought she was so good and couldn’t wait to hear her speak. I am glad I have learned better. Now she just irritates my spirit.
She's learned from her father how to tap into people's emotions - whether that's being a single mother struggling, needing healing, etc. She's a great motivator and master at telling a story.
Probably those who are spiritually blind and have not received the Holy Spirit and only have a limited head knowledge of the Truth and are not firmly anchored in the Word or been cultivated by God to receive the Truth and bear fruit in keeping with repentance. As Jesus said to Nicodemus, "You MUST be born again" and become a new creation in Christ Jesus whose Spirit now dwells inside your temple (your body) with your revived spirit, which was once dead in unrepentant sin.

Yea, she is a motivational speaker, but different people in ministry has what they have been gifted with. There was a point in my life when I was really down, her messages helped me rise up again until I started growing in the faith and started leaning more to sound Bible teachers like Kevin Ewing and Jackie Hill Perry etc. there’s a prophet for everyone at every stage of life
Unfortunately, a lot of times yes. That's why you never take what someone said that God told them and run with it. You should bring all of that before God in prayer, and he will let you know if it is foolishness or pertains to you. In the Old Testament prophets were notorious for lying on God and saying he had spoken this or that, when in fact He had not. I remember a woman at a former church telling a man that God told her that he was to be her husband. From what I understand he refuted that claim, and in shame she left the church for a season.
Sadly this is common in many NAR/Pentecostal churches. They get an idea and to give what they think authority they say "God told me", when in fact He never audibly told them anything. Would be more inclined to hear them out if they said, "God showed me in His word" and then quoted scripture with their interpretation. But would not blindly accept what they said without studying it thoroughly like a good Berean. Reference Acts 17:11.
That part about forgiving God is true! I had to do it! Do you know how many people are angry with God and upset with him for so many reasons; however the main reason is unanswered prayer or should I say God didn't answer the prayer that I would have liked him to; however he did answer. Now I do believe that God doesn't need our forgiveness because he is perfect; however we have to do it for ourselves to heal and get back in communion with him!
