I love this trade as a sens fan but dude we're about to start watching one of the greatest games in NHL history It's the league's fault for having the draft... 4 DAYS after the finals will end
Crazy thing is 11 months ago Korpisalo deal was amazing . He has one bad year and now everyone like he sucks . But a yeer the talk was great signing . Maybe he regroups and Boston has him for only 3 million Wait and be patient
@@MikeBartner I think this is worse. PLD is a plug but it was bad contract for bad contract. The Bruins gave up a Vezina winning goalie for a 1st and a bad contract ?!? Ottawa is going to be really good next year.
@@chrisgoodings4450 I guess Boston must be confident that there is a gem player they scouted that will be available at 25. Trevor Connelly? Jett Luchanko? Teddy Stiga? Maybe
@@tarunramanathan9340I wouldn’t be. Goalie trades and trade returns always seem to be weird like this. Shouldn’t reflect to much on the return value of top line forwards.
Please tell us what the market is for a 30 year old goalie on the last year of his contract? You think Ullmark is going to be the same goalie without the Bruins defensive oriented system?
You might be doing the same thing at this time next year. If Ottawa doesn't improve their defense, Ullmark is not going to do any better than Korpisolo.
Ottawa went through their bad trades in the late 2010s and early 2020s. In the end, the Sens could not return to the same goalie tandem in 2024/2025 season as they did last year. I believe there’s an extension verbally agreed but cannot make it official until July 1st. However, even if he doesn’t accept an extension, the Sens needed this upgrade. Also, we still have our #7 pick we can trade, Chychrun to trade, and anything else. New regime making good of Dorian’s questionable moves.
Yeah, fleeced......you're talking about a team with no draft pick until the 4th round this year.....so how can a trade be graded on pick yet to be made? What if that 25th round pick turns into the next Bergeron or Pastrnak or even Krejci?? Kneejerk trade reactions and unrealistic expectations for a rental player
I honestly can’t tell if Sweeney is a good GM or not. He makes good trades somewhat consistently but then will make a horrible one that cancels out the previous ones, and makes good picks outside of the first round, but he can’t draft good prospects within the first round. Lysell over Wyatt Johnston still hurts (and 2015)
The Bruins simply enjoy making trades with Ottawa to increase their cap and stock Providence. (They have done this before and just got out from underneath it.)
Ullmark will be an average goalie without Montgomery, as he was back in Buffalo. This will be very similar to Matt Murray going to Ottawa and ruining his career
I'm a Bruins fan and we turn not great goalies into good or great goalies. Kastelic is a big physical forward and he's like the forward version of Andrew Peeke
fair trade. The 25th will likely end up being a decent bottom 6 centre prospect, Korpi will be good in a backup role and Kastalic is a big guy that is good in the dot and can fight. Like it for the sens for sure, but not bad for boston.
What makes anyone think that Ullmark is any better than Korpisolo? Boston was one of the best teams defensively while Ottawa was one of the worst. If the Senators don't do anything to improve their defense, their results won't be any better.
Honestly, as a sens fan, I think this is a win win trade. The bruins have now the option to either play swaymen a shit tone or play a tandem of korpi and swaymen. When korpi is at his best, he’s fing good. Although, I think sens is on the better end of this trade. U still gotta worry about that long contract tho. Bruins are getting old and so is korpi
Only possible explanation for such low of a return is that ullmark has never had a legit starter role. The most games he’s played in a year is 49 which is just a little over half of a season. Still stunned the return was this low and if it was this low why they even moved him
Isn’t it crazy how time can change opinions on a deal so fast, like if ullmark works out in Ottawa then the sens kinda won the debit trade which is a take that would have got you laughed out of any conversation less than a week ago
Absolutely pumped Ottawa totally fleeced Boston. Korpisalo was terrible even when our terrible Defender was out he still managed to lose games. We lost 1 goal games because Korpisalo couldn’t make the save when we needed him to. That’s how bad this trade is for Boston because Sweeny take the L. Not even Kastelic was actually any good in the fourth line he was trash most of the season.
If the Senators defense is the same next year as it was this year, the results will be the same. Ullmark thrived in Boston's defensive minded system. He'll probably fare no better than Korpisolo is Ottawa does not improve their defense.
I think some Avs fan will be sad about this, but honestly like I’ve said before, if Georgiev carries over that good play from the playoffs minus Winnipeg Gm1, we should be fine
@@alfiesmullet1311 Did you look at Korpisolo's numbers in Columbus and Los Angeles? The numbers are much better than the numbers he put up in Ottawa. Ullmark was"young"? He played for Buffalo for six years. He put up better numbers in Boston because the Bruins emphasize defense.
@@Bruins-vq5ey I watched every Bruins game. You think that Ullmark is going to be the same without the Bruins defensive oriented system? If the Senators don't improve their defense, they'll get the same results regardless of who is in goal.
Im a bruins fan, florida just won the cup and now we do this bs. I saw that we signed bussy earlier today and though "well ig we can give this guy a shot as backup" now this all looks so bad with the cap space it doesn't look like we can get a replacement for debrusk if he doesnt re sign. I'm so mad about this, this is the worst trade we've done in a while.
