Trandoshan Commandos were arguable more dangerous considering their natural abilities and their predatory instincts were a absolute nightmare for their enemies, and not even the genetically bred clones could hope to compete against these cold blooded killers for their natural ferocity. The Trandoshans were every bit of terrifying as rumors were stated and much more worse.
Hence why I’m pretty annoyed by how the live action Disney era shows generally ignore how strong Trandoshans are supposed to be and treat them as being no tougher than the average humanoid.
@@JLL_29 Trandos were lizards, not dinosaurs. Dexter Jester/Prong Krell's species, Trebor Coleman's species and Dessaan's species were more dinosaur like.
I can understand why a proud warrior race like the Trandoshans was outraged at being represented by a Wookiee. Who wants to have their greatest enemy speak on their behalf? And come on, even the Gungans had one of their own in the Senate. Granted it was Jar Jar Binks and he ended up giving Palpatine the power of an Emperor...but still.
@@the__rock263 I know. But as a representative and not a senator he had no actual vote. The Gungans had to do this because they shared their planet with the Naboo. And the Naboo were already recognized members of the Galactic Senate. The Trandoshans had their own planet but had to trust the Wookiees, their enemies, with power over their entire world and all its people. It is both an insult and a potential threat.
10:16: The SBDs, Dwarf Spider Droids, and Geonosian Elites scared me more, but I do fear the repeater-toting Trando HAMs a bit. Shooting the mercs' jetpacks is always a laugh. Wheeeeeeeeeeee!
Yeah the SBDs are the worst of the enemies in that game. Having two or three alone is fine, but having dispensers that dispense them is hell since there will be at least three more by the time the dispenser is destroyed. They did a terrible job at balancing the game on Hard difficulty because of this. I don't know how people can get past the part on Kashyyyk with the two super dispensers without dying a bunch of times on hard.
I remember reading a choose your own adventure book set in the Clone Wars where you played a Jedi Padawan and during one path you had to convince the Trandoshans that a Republic operation wasn't an act of war by eating Trandoshan bloodworms.
The Heavy Assault Mercenaries were the absolute most DANGEROUS enemies you could ever run into. It's a good thing they never put two in one area in Republic Commando.
Fiercely agree, they’re scary as hell. It’s a creature that can reasonably melee a Wookie, in a suit of power armor, with a Gatling gun. Absolutely terrifying.
This makes me wonder of the scenario why the Trandoshans did not even try to make a difference at the Battle of Umbara. If Umbara remained firmly in the Separatists' hands, Count Dooku can staged an attack against Kashyyyk by using the Trandoshan privateers to pressure the King of Wookies to secede from the Republic and join the Confederacy. At least, I think this will work better than General Grievous' "negotiation" for sure. Right?
Hey Geetsly (or anyone who knows), Was there ever any non-clone combatants on the field during TCW other then Jedi / Officers or Resistance Fighters? In a galaxy of trillions, wouldn't there be one or more troops that would want to fight on the front lines? Edit: I mean in the Government (Republic / Seperatists). Like imagine a regular Human fighting alongside the Clones while wearing the Republic insignia.
There absolutely were, quite a large number actually. Hundreds of independent planetary defense forces were either aided by or more or less assimilated into the GAR. With a few exceptions, generally the further a planet was from the core, the more likely they were to be lacking a permanent clone garrison. The CIS also utilised local defense forces on more developed friendly worlds, but more often employed mercenary groups like the Trandoshans mentioned here. If I'm not mistaken, Geetsly has a few older videos giving a good outline of these forces.
The Force Unleashed has been retconned, but when it was still Canon, Jedi General Rahm Kota actually had a deep distrust of Clones and actually saw them as unfit for combat. Because of this, he recruited his own militia made up of regular volunteers, and as a result survived Order 66. His militia was one of the first organizations to resist the Empire.
Well, I didn't know the crew of the Republic ship those Trandoishans took over was that big, that makes the accomplishment of taking it over both even more impressive and terrifying.
Id assume they didn't directly confront that many clones. More likely they infiltrated, shut off life support, and I'd assume slipped something into the air supply. Only way it really makes sense that they'd be able to pacify so many clones across a whole ship.
@@TheLastKentuckyIrregular9524 clones have temporary life support built into their suits. They should be able to last long enough to fight back to turn it on again
I've just finished Republic Commando campaign on hard difficulty (got it from Prime Gaming) and I don't think there is any better portrayal of B2 droids in battle - these things are walking tanks! Btw I absolutely love the game despite its age - it brought me many good memories of challenging singleplayer missions from my childhood, and the atmosphere is amazing! I wish we could get an imperial sequel😢
What were your thoughts on that one section on Kashyyyk with the two super dispensers and the turret? How did you pass that? I have yet to get past it. I have seen someone pass it before but every time I try it like that, my team goes down before I can get to the turret. Other than the part, I've been able to get the campaign done decently on hard difficulty using some simple strategy and cover.
Were the Trandoshan mercs and Nimbus Soldiers the only known flesh and blood troops that the CIS had utilized when they needed something other than Droid armies on the battlefield? Cause while I am a Star Wars fan I'm not as well educated in the lore from that which is canon or even legends as many others to know stuff like this.
I wonder how they were paid. We’re they paid with Separatist credits? Trandsoha shared the same system with Kashyyk which was a member of Republic space which was probably hard to trade within Trandosha’s proximity.
I wouldn't say Clone Commandos feared the Trandoshans, more that they were aware of and respected their combat capabilities. Keep in mind, many RCs were Mandalorian-trained on Kamino.
That was great! I hadn’t heard about the Trandoshans siding with the Separatists like that but it ties-in with the Republic Commando storyline perfectly (there needs to be a sequel! Imperial Commandos!). What was Trandosha’s standing planetary defense force like? Would it have been enough to let them go to war openly with the droids supplementing their forces? Also what would their training have been like? Is that where most of the mercenaries and elites got their training?
"Were you terrified of these guys when you played Republic Commando?" Umm f yeah! 8 year old me was petrified. I still remember the "Who DARES" Before the explosion then the "fat ugly fear fects" came at me 2 katanas drawn. I immediately paused and saved and then took a week break. 😅
It's worth noting that the failure to secure the Prosecutor seriously came back to bite the Trandosions in the a** since the ship's computer had gathered months worth of combat data on them.
@@an-animal-lover Well, it's nothing special, really, but I got an idea for one in the Legacy-era (over 140 ABY). I got a name for him: Darth Crim, as in Crimson.
🧐 . . . If you can handle being in bed with a lamia (watch the opening moments of _Monster Musume_ ), then you’ll find that Trandoshans are about as scary as newborn puppies, kittens, & Homo Sapiens Sapiens (as a Cathar, I like keeping humans as pets)…
I understand why they did it I wouldn't be too happy if my enemy was representing me and my people. And it's a little sad to see how underrated the Trandoshans are
I’m not sure if this is the channel but could you do some videos on titanfall? Like the spectras, titans, weapons, creatures, augmentations? I haven’t really seen these types of videos but everything else from b1s to Star Trek replicators.
Compared to the Flood, Necromorphs, and the Blackwing Zombies, Little Frightens me in Fiction. I picked these Three due to their being Galaxy-level Threats.
Whats funny is the Droid Invasion of Kashykk would have been impossible without the Trendosains. They would want to be recognized. The CIS would make it work for them.
Humanoid Lizard life forms that are extremly strong & Highly intelligent apex prediters would & should scare everybody so to answer the question posed at the end of the video "would you be afraid of these Trandotion fighter's ".Yes I would did you know that when ever a lizard comes across another being mammals, insects, fish whatever it is if it's a creature that's alive the first thing & in that moment the only thing on its mind is can I fit that in my mouth & if they can they pounce on the creature bitting it & then after that swallowing it is the priority 1st over everything including killing the straggling creature.
Some prob aren't aware of this but at a certain area where there's a few clone survivors if you manage to kill the trandoshans fast enough boss will say good job men also knows they can't come with him due to the lack of shield generator, armor and commando training making em. Liabilities.
I played Republic Commando when i was like 10. The ghost ship mission scared me so much that my Dad had to beat it for me. Admittedly, i dont think ive ever beaten that mission lmao
If the overgrown carnivorous lizards took strong offense to their system rep being just a Wookie maybe then they shoulda strongly thought about having a core of their species that was custom raised and trained to be reping and wheeling and dealing in the political, trade and non illegal or combat arenas instead of just enslaving or killing an terrorizing everyone In sight they can Now WHY not put they money where their mouths were and go after Force Users too... Or was they too scared of catching the eye of alot the Order's notable Jedi whom probably woulda gave them quite the hard reality check at the end of a plasma blade
So basically Trandoshans were fascist Spain. In the sense that they were officially "neutral", but in actuality were supporting the Seps in all but name. Kind of like fascist Spain under Franco supporting the Axis in all but name as they provided funds, weapons and even foreign legions.
My absolute favorite pastime to do in Republic Commando is to sticky a Sonic grenade onto a surface, then watch the fireworks as the lizards roll, Dodge or jump into it's range, lol
