Aitäh (Thanks) for the nice presentation about the material and spiritual culture of the Seto people. It's encouraging to see how a small ethnicity manages to successfully bridge past and present, and contacts across national borders, in this case between Estonia and the Russian Federation. The innovation and holding of the annual "Seto Kingdom Day" celebrations is a prime example of how small peoples might help to revive, preserve and even develop their unique culture. // Just a minor caveat regarding hot bathhouses and their terminology: Setos' so-called "sauna" (with oven but lacking chimney and therefore smoky) is the same as a Finnish "smoke sauna" (savusauna). Yes, smokeless saunas are more common in Finland. These are heated (a) via electric ovens or (b) via chimney-equipped wood-burning ovens. The latter type is essentially the same as an ordinary "banya" in Russia.

All peoples in Eurasia come from smaller tribes like the Setos. We are constantly chastised and demeaned as being from “white culture” as though there is only one. We are often considered as the opposite of indigenous when other people are considered indigenous no matter where they are. Learn your histories and ancestral cultures. Stop letting the rest of the world run over you and try to say you are less than anyone else.
