In my experience while working with Indians in an IT company I realised that most Indian men were brought up in a repressed way so that that could not even talk to anyone of the opposite sex. A lot of white Western women are not attracted to many Indians because many come across as creepy due to their lack of skills to converse with the opposite sex. They'll just stare at the women and women find that creepy but it's just a lack of social skills rather than actual creepiness.

Ok, I am a Sikh Indian guy (do not wear turban) from the northern part of India, I have been in US for 5 years for PhD in engineering field in one of the best US schools. However, what you said about the perception people have of Indian people is 100% true from my experience. I have been called "oh you are really cute for an Indian guy", "oh I never thought you were Indian, I thought you were from Italy or Spain", "you are very masculine and handsome for an Indian guy", "you have good genetics, I don't see Indian guys as built as you, do you have a European ancestors by any chance" actually said by a guy in a gym cause I am 6'2" and am quite muscular, not realizing how much hard work and discipline went into making that body,. In fact, I have seen the attraction towards me in women's eyes drop down significantly (not every women of course) when during chat I tell them my origins, the question of which inevitably comes due to my accent. But you know what I am proud of my country and I am super successful in my field at the end of PhD career and it is due to work ethics that was ingrained into me from living in India combine that with energy available to focus on a goal due to "Indian guy sexual frustrations" and time available due to "non-availability of women" is a perfect storm for material success in USA, which becomes way more important in your 30's and later on and you then wield the true power, so don't be discouraged my sexually frustrated Indian brothers in western countries, your time will come!!

Indian American here. I was born in Arkansas and raised in Ohio and parents came here 33 years ago. I know a cousin of mine who is married to a white woman and I have a indian-american friend of mine dating a white american lady. It has to simply do with confidence and attractiveness. Go to the gym, groom yourself, and focus on your hygiene. You're not gonna get everyone but if you focus on yourself, you'll be fine.

Good video it’s very interesting as dark skinned black women face similar issues (I can’t tell you the amount of times men have told me I’m pretty for a black woman or they don’t normal think black women are attractive but I am as I don’t fit the stereotype). I’m Mexican and extremely proud of it. I grew up in a very Mexican neighborhood and went to a elementary and junior high that were mainly Mexican. When I got to 8th grade we moved to a more white school and heard and probably felt a lot the same way you did. Something I would hear a lot was you’re really cool for a Mexican. You’re the coolest Mexican I ever met, your not like other Mexicans you act a lot different. I felt insulted but they thought they were complimenting me. I think television gives people stereotypes. I hate to say this because I later became friends with him but my teacher in college once made a remark to a mutual friend about Hispanics being on financial aid. What I’ve noticed, a lot of Indian guys are complaining they’re unattractive cuz they have poor genetics but if they look at themselves, they aren’t in shape. If ur body is fit you will have an attractive face period. U also need to find ur strengths and make them prominent instead of crying over your weaknesses.

My experience as an Indian man is that bias against Indian men is limited only to English speaking countries. Once you enter mainland Europe, like Germany and France, our chances are as good as the local men, and sometimes even better. My world turned upside down when I visited Germany, compared to my time in America.

So the problem is that we are defining what being an attractive man is by European standards. The fact that 1 of the comments here is supposed to be a compliment by saying he looks like an "Indian Clark Kent" is part of the problem. It should be good enough that he is simply a good looking man who happens to be Indian/Asian. If we keep trying to maintain "you're good or you're ok or now you fit in standards" by using European parameters most people who are people of color will fail and fail miserably.

Your experience is simple. Your beauty privilege over rides the negative stereotype that goes with your race. Being the cream of the crop in looks can definitely override stereotypes and glass ceilings that your same race peers experience. This doesn’t change anything for Indian men..... it’s just changing it for you... because of your looks individually.

I am gay so maybe my perspective does not matter, but I genuinely think that this whole emasculation of Asian men is deliberate, but not only that - it largely fails when you actively engage with these folks. It's ridiculous. Take my anecdotal experiences with a grain of salt, but almost every Indian man I've engaged with has left a lasting impression on me: hardworking, pretty chill, and exceptionally handsome. If not that, they just do not make a blimp in my radar. But ugly? hardly ever. Indian men are normal. Some are ugly. Some are damn good looking. They both are okay, leave them be.

My sister's husband is Indian. The were up against a lot obstacles because of his family. They are happily married and have been for ten years. They have two sons and a daughter. All their children have an Indian first name, and English second name. She cooks a lot of Indian and Mexican food. Her in laws love her now. Her husband didn't really celebrate his culture until he married her because she wants it as part of their lives. They are still a hot couple.

Hey new subscriber here! And a subscriber of Yogioabs too, in fact I came over from his channel, glad to have found you! I like how Yogioabs speaks his personal truth, and even if I don’t agree with everything he says I do appreciate how he makes effort to learn and understand the world. I relate to a lot of what you said here and I’m a woman. Regarding what you said about women saying they don’t normally like or date Indian men but found you attractive is very similar to what men have said to me. I’m a fourth generation American, but ethnically I’m Mexican. Men have said to me “you’re so exotic looking” or “what are you...are you white or? and “I normally don’t like Mexican girls but you’re really hot” or “I think Mexican/ Latin girls are so beautiful”. I find these type of comments rather insulting but I don’t hold it against the person. I’ll take some of it as a compliment because they meant it that way. Most of these comments stem from the fact that people have this stereotype of what a ethnic person is and when they see one that doesn’t fit their narrative or is attractive they feel they have to tell you. This really sucks. Many people think Indian/Pakistani men are only brown or dark skinned and if you are fair or tanned skin you are likely to get comments like, "You look Persian/Albanian/Egyptian/Syrian/Caucasian/ Eurpean/Mixed race"

Gay guy in the US here. The perception of South Asians as being lower on the attractiveness "totem pole" is a legitimate thing in not only the LGBT community but also among heterosexuals. It's challenging to figure out what has caused this though, and I think it's a combination of factors. The first is that there is very little media representation of attractive South Asian men. Second, I think the stereotype of Asian men in general being submissive and docile still is in place and impacts how Asian men are seen all around. Third, I think the rising Islamophobia in the West is tainting how folks perceive all South Asians and people from the Middle East, regardless of their actual religion. As a result, South Asians are seen as backwards, terrorists, or unacculturated. Just some observations but it'd be great if someone could do a follow-up study on this. But it's definitely a thing for sure. Keep up the good work brother!

I am surprised you didn’t mention perhaps the most well known Indian TV character in recent history who fits some of the stereotypes of Indian men, Ram from Big Bang Theory. For half the show he couldn’t talk to women, except for his mother and sister.

I am an Indian guy living in Ireland. I am 6 feet tall, pretty fair enough. What I observed in me and my fellow mates that we arent confident enough to talk very freely(other than work stuff) to white women. However, the girls i came across(european and mongoloids) are very good going and do not have any stereotypes against us indians. Its just that we have accepted the white superiority(as our ancestors did) in the same way today. But I have dated a mongolian girl and looking forward to date a Bulgarian in coming days😂. Its all about our own confidence. Wear good clothes, good perfumes and be confident.

I’m white and I work with many Indians who are colleagues of mine. The Indian men are very easy to get along and we have great relationships. What I did notice about Indian women is that if they are born in the states or arrived young they tend to be feminists and completely disregard Indian men. They actually avoid them unfortantly. The Indian women that just arrived from India tend to be much kinder and easy going. They usually come with husbands and tend to start families sooner.

As an Indian myself though I refer to myself as chocolate, Indian men should start working on their verbal skills and charm when it comes to interacting with women of any ethnicity. Also, on their physical aesthetics plus their body game. They have to definitely develop their confidence and be in touch with the raw masculinity instead of being surpressed by the parents, social programming and the media.

I am white latina and im dating a great indian guy! We live in miami & met here. I have not found a good connection with a Latin guy here it's very hard with them and I'm Latin but I don't really feel like there's any rules because I know I'm an exception to a rule and the other person could be too so it's mostly about the connection that you have with someone and to not judge someone too soon

One more thing, I once opened some tables asking for a chick, there was a girl who went"OMG you're so fucking hot. I don't usually like indian guys but you're so cool". I used to live in the west, speak the US accent fairly well (almost to the point where most people thought i was american) and had a few successes, but nowhere near as how I observed it was easy for the local americans. You know what the funny part is? I now live in Asia and don't find american\caucasian women attractive anymore. I've even had a bunch of them hit on me here, and it was easy to turn them down, simply because I have more options and my tastes have changed. The few white women i associate with are now just platonic friends. My past where I found them attractive seems like a long distant and absurd dream. Like wow, i used to find "them" attractive?? There was an Indian guy in two of my college classes and I thought he was super hot. He wasn't a macho man and some people would maybe say he was scrawny even though he wasn't really. He was athletic, a great group leader, and a good student with respect for everyone. It was nice to have a guy that wasn't trying so hard to be like the other guys and I liked how he was a little different. I would have definitely gone out with him if he was interested in me.

Here's my perspective as a black man. I think these stereotypes exist because 1. there aren't enough indians in the USA. Even in canada, there's only a handful of famous indians who break stereotypes. And the only one I can name off the top of my head is rapper "Nav". 2. Asians/indians isolate themselves from society. This is just a fact lol. They keep in their own communities to preserve their culture. Thus, they don't really assimilate as well as other races/ethnicities. Not to say they all don't. However, when you have a large chunk isolating themselves and the ones who who assimilating only being presented in stereotypical fashion, this is the outcome. I've only seen a handful of indian dudes IRL. And only one of them I can remember didn't fit the stereotype of being some nerdy guy .

I just think that all this shit is state of mind. Never has my ethnicity come into the equation in my dating life. I don't think about it, it more or less comes down to whether you've been in the gym and you have something going for yourself in life, with some friends, and the social skills that come with that. I'm 37 and born/grew up in the U.S. I'll tell you that non-Indian girls under 30 are for sure more open, so you guys in that age range are lucky in that way. When I was growing up, it was different, those girls were far less open. With all that said, its still harder if you are an Indian dude in the west, but things are getting better.

The media are also to blame. They're literally bullying Indians around. There's next to zero Indian representation here in the UK and US . There's been a huge up surge to a certain group on TV despite their low contribution to society. I have many Indian friends. You're some the most hard working honest people I know.

I’m biracial and I prefer Indian men over any other, I am attracted to non American men and brown men. Indian men are kind, cultured and tend to be educated yet humble. I learn stuff when I talk to them and I like their mindset and all of that is interesting. Being brown myself I don’t prefer white men or the typical arrogant and superficiality of American men that they are generally known for.
